Foreclosure is NOT the end of the World

Foreclosure is NOT the end of the World
Believe it or not, your Foreclosure is not the first one. There have been many who have walked the road before you. There have been people who have had multiple foreclosures at the same time, losing many investment properties as well as their home. There are people who are facing far more than just a foreclosure. Some people have faced foreclosure because of what appears to be trivial filing errors or lost mail. No matter what your hardship the result is the same. You are now in foreclosure. It’s like you’ve been taken captive. You’re a slave to your indebtedness and guilt.
I’m here to let you know it’s not the end of the world. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I know you’d like a flashlight just in case but I’m here to say that your faith can give you just enough light for the step you’re on.
Foreclosure is real and it’s frightening when your home is the pawn in this battle. If you have children, the fight is even more personal because it’s hard to think that they will be losing the only home they know…the place where their growth chart is etched on the door frame, their sanctuary from the world, where they buried their pet goldfish.
There are people who are willing to help you if you just reach out and ask. Don’t be so embarrassed or prideful that you fail to seek help. Don’t be so discouraged that you think your situation is not repairable.
The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years with only a tent and some manna. You’re blessed. We live in the greatest country on earth with more conveniences and services to help you than any other nation.
And remember, this too will pass. You’ll look back from the Promised Land someday and say, “We made it and we’re better now than we were before”. You’ll appreciate your home more than anyone else on the block! You’ll find the secret of contentment that’s always been as close as your family. You’ll meet some people along the way…some giants, some friends.
When the Israelites were trapped by the Egyptian army they were pinned in between the devil and the big Red Sea. But, listen to Moses. “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” (Exodus 14:13-14).
The Israelites thought it was in the end of the world. They cursed Moses and wanted to return to slavery in Egypt rather than face the army. But, God did the unimaginable and parted the Red Sea. Not only did He part it but he gave them dry ground to walk on.
So, take off your waders and walk. Find a Moses and begin your journey. It’s not the end of the world.
