For the most part, they were a good company to work with. Until I had financial difficulties. Then, the attitude was "Tough luck, sweetie!" Guess that was because they were under pressure themselves (now that I know HSBC, parent company overseas, decided to close down U.S. operations)

do not EVER use this company. They are a predatory lender!! Why these loans were ever legal or allowed is awful. Many people have allowed this company to ruin their finacial lives me being one of them.I repeat DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY.I'm current on a 9.5% mortgage and they will do nothing to lwer it.

they hooked me good, making it sound good and not explaining what I was getting into. They have me now so there is no way I can refinance no equity in home, as they combined loans. I have called them to see if they could lower my interst but they will not work with you. I am barely hanging on.

We refianced with Household Finance from a local bank. What a mistake. The bait and switch interest rate should have been a tip. We refinanced to consolidate bills and they screwed that up too.

I feel that they are poor communicators, will not call you back. You have to go out of your way to find out who to call and speak to. The loan officers will tell you whatever they want to get the loan sign and you find out different once you get the loan. Read and re-read the fine print. I have met one or two people who seem sympathetic and try to help but they are also vague when you ask questions and will not answer your questions fully.

No understanding of anyones situation, we were great when we both were working full time but when my husband after 26 years on the job, hours were cut, we were turned down for a hardship loan and now zttorneys saying we have 30 to say the claim is valid and they will start foreclosure. No arrangements can be made now they said they are revoked. My husband starting getting his hours back now but they don't care.

They tell you to call them and when you do, they are so hateful and say that they have to have a certain amount or else. No wonder people don't want to call them.

Another reason that I fell behind on my mortgages payments is because HFC is a predatory lender which originated me a predatory loan. HFC initiated this loan to me in a rush manner and according to the Federal Trade Commission I should have avoided this loan because of the warning signs: HFC combined two loans which I should never agree to or signed any documents. One loan was a credit card loan and had nothing to do with my home. HFC pressured me into accepting monthly payments that I cannot make. HFC did not allow me to read all of the fine print in the loan papers. HFC truly misrepresented the kind of credit I was getting. By not communicating to me the impact of this loan transaction ended up placing me in an adversary role. HFC misrepresented the facts by combining two loans placing me in a negative equity position. This was totally wrong. HFC knew very well in advance that I would not be able to obtain refinancing anywhere else. The bottom line is that I should have never entered into this agreement. I should have not signed these documents and left my loan balance as is. Finally, I am taking this information to the attorney general of Michigan and have this and my loan papers investigated. HFC had a settlement with Acorn (see attached) and I appeal to you to reconsider and approve allowing me on the Foreclosure Avoidance Program. Please reconsider and give me one more chance. There are six steps on getting a good loan and I feel strongly that HFC failed in each category. (see attached). Thomas Deal

Unwilling to work with their customers. We have had them servicing our loan for years with never a problem, until hardships came. You would think a good past track record they would be willing to work something out!
