I have been in constant contact with GMAC since April 2009 - trying to go through the Obama Home Affordable Modification - I have been told "there is hope - you definitely qualify" "fill out the application & submit someone will call you to discuss your options" I have submitted 3- applications - no one has called, when I call they inform me there was missing info so they denied - then sent letter saying insufficient income. As they posted a default notice on my home - they never spoke with me to discuss my application and options - I am working full time and want to save my home. GMAC - should not be allowed to be using this Obama plan this way - they are not working with homeowners - they are abusing the opportunity our president gave them. I want to keep my home - I am employed full time - I have two children I am raising as a single parent. What sense does any of this make? I'm not sure anyone really does care.

When asked for help with mortgage in past their solution was to automatically raise our payments so we could pay them back. If I'm having issues paying my 850.00 monthly payment they think by allowing me to pay 1,200.00 a month is helpful. Also to many people with heavy foreign accents in customer service making it difficult to understand questions and what your agreeing to as well.

I mailed off a mortgage payment sept 27 and my husband made an agreement on the phone the next day the 28th for them not to foreclose on our home if we would pay 1065.00 a month for the next year, he told them I just sent a payment off. When they received the check for 865.00 they sent it back and said we were delinquent of our bargain and sent us to foreclosure. My problem with this is we sent the check before we made the bargain.

tried from February,2009 through july,2009 to get modification. received call july 14, 2009 you are denied!. that is all the info they could give me. the person that called gave me another telephone number to call at GMAC for "help", told me to call asap. I called as soon as i hung up with him. It was the automated pay your bill line!!!!. We have never been late but my husband lost his job and we did not ask for help till we exhausted all our options. we had a 15yr mortgage all we wanted was for them to lengthen the term to 30 years. Very Nasty!!!!!

It's funny how those of us who have never missed a payment and never been late on a payment can't get GMAC to work with us at all. My wife lost her job and we asked if we could skip a payment and add it to the rear of the loan...I've had other lenders who offer this every year at christmas time....however, gmac wouldn't hear of it. They just referred us to fill out the loan modification papers. Then they tell us our tax returns say we make too much to be modified...hmmm, we only made 50,000 between us last year and now we only have one income! They didn't even bother to look at that...one month to tack on the back of the loan only makes them more interest and keeps me current on my payments. This company does not care about the consumer!

Stacey Folkers - Loan person, treated me very badly in the beginning. When GMAC calls, all they do is yell at me on the phone. Then I get people that speak broken english and I cannot understand them and they yell at me too. They will not even try to work with me and I did get a paper for a telephone conversation with a Judge, but Ms. Rogers knew nothing about it! I know several people that "used to work for GMAC". They've said nothing good about them. This is why I am in trouble. They would not work with me. GMAC just wants their money and NOW! GMAC calls you! You cannot call them and the paper work that is sent in the mail is outrageous. I have sent several letters to the BBB and the Attorney General about GMAC. Now I am doing everything to keep my home. PLEASE HELP ME!

Terrible company. My ex-wife and I have good jobs and good credit scores, yet we have been round and round with GMAC for about two months now. Neither of us can re-fi the house, sell it, or get the other party off the mortgage. It is a nightmare and this company is the most despicable company we have ever encountered. They lie, never call back, are ill-informed, and truly do NOT care about you.

GMAC is also unwilling to modify my loan. I lost my job and fortunately have been able to make my payments on time. I sent all the info for a loan modification and they said I didn't have enough income. No kidding! I make less now than before but a small reduction would help a lot. They got 633 million recently from the government and signed a contract with the Treasury dept stating they would modify loans yet aren't doing it. Every website says I qualify but GMAC refuses to do anything.

I just called gmac asking for them to work with me in regards to some late fees. It seems it's ok for them to need help, but it is not ok for us to need help. I wrote all my representatives with my feelings and suggest you all do the same. I hate to see GM go under, but sometimes we reap what we sew. I know I will NEVER own another GM product. I have not walked away from a payment in my life, but times are tough right now. I have been forced to sacrifice income, and just about everyone has been willing to work with me...not GMAC. I for one hope they get what they deserve.

I'm having the same problems with GMAC. This company is horrible, and they don't care about you loosing your joh or getting sick. They just want the money. President Obama's stimulus is not going to help the people who have loans with Homecomings or GMAC. I think we need to demand help, lets go ask for a bailout. Everyone who wants to be heard should get together and go to washington and express our concerns. I don't know how often Congress meet but I'm willing to take the chance and demand help for the workinging people who may have fallen on bad times and need help. The only way to get heard is to make alot of noise. So lets make some noise. I'm serious about going before congress with my complaints and concerns about Homecoming/GMAC.

Several of us were laid off. We are looking for work and getting part time or temporary jobs. Some of the mortgage companies of friends that were also laid off are willing to work with them via interest only, pushing money to the back-end etc. GMAC has not been willing to work with me and told me they want payment in full, will keep adding late fees and will continue to call my house several times a day. Their phone system has been so maxed out that it would not let me speak to an agent although the option is offered. They have good rates but their Customer Service agents are rude severely lacking.

"The reason for this rating is because of GMAC's unwillingness to work out a reasonable offer to help people who are willing to pay and continue to pay until the debt is gone. If we had the money to pay the outrageous monthly charges, we would not have been in this position in the first place!" - Jessica Langley, Springtown TX Maybe you should have went to work to help pay the mortgage. Today, the 1 breadwinner income is almost unheard of, unless they are executive white-collar. Today, a dual-income family is almost, I say almost a necessity. Maybe you should have thought about that point before you lost your house. GMAC has always been good to us. You drove yourselves into the situation you are in. You could have gotten out of it by simply going and getting a job plain and simple. Sacrifices are a part of life. Get used to it.

As long as your making your payments as agreed, they aren't even there. However, when things get rocky, they talk to you like your a pile of poop - in a very condescending manner. The people they have working for them who you have to speak with - all speak with heavy accents and gutter talk, like uneducated gangsters. They will talk OVER you, they aren't interested in anything you have to say. I'll wager the people they hire have no high school diplomas, they come from the ghetto, and have poor attitudes towards everyone including themselves. They are exploiting the government bailout, and still putting the screws to us and taking our homes. They also know the government is buying up all the residential paper in the country. Why do you think GMAC got Bank status recently? FOR THE BAILOUT MONEY!

I can see that you all did what you were supposed to do just like myself. All your storeis are the same as mine. I lost everything, I fought for almost 2 years and do not want to stop until there is some justice here!!! How can they get away with this? The lying, fake promises, taking homes without notices, just stringng us along with the "work out plan" promise, not notify at all by phone, mail nothing, default, forclose, then steeal your house, that's what they did to me, I just can't figure out how they are getting away with it when there are so many of us out there with the SAME stories? My loan is set to adjust in a few months. We've never been late. Our incomes have dropped dramatically this year and so has the value of our house. It's been tough, like for so many others. I called to see about getting the rate fixed - not a reduction in principal - just a fixed rate. They told me I have to be late on a payment before I can ask for help. Seriously?! The train is slipping off the tracks and they want me to wait until it falls over.

I called and was told by a Customer Rep. that I needed to pay 2300.00 by the end of the week...the person I was speaking with did not sound confident in what he was talking about...I called back and talked to someone else who said I was approved for a loan modification, make no payment now and paperwork was in the mail, got his name and a couple of days later, out loan mod arrived.

They are very unhelpful when it comes to having problems paying the payments. I have paid every payment on time for 2 years and now that I have lost my job all they want to do is raise my payment. If I am having trouble paying the origional payment what makes them think I can afford the higher payment. They should be willing to work with people but they are not.

The counselors are not trying to help you. They just want to keep you in the dark on your application to modify your loan. They just want to collect your money. Everytime you call the counselors they are not professional in providing good advise and guidance. They are the worst.

Not helpful, often rude, uncaring and judgemental. Told me to buy less food to feed my family to save money- wtf?! Also, bad record keeping on their part. Notes not updated for account. Furthermore, horrible English speakers. Often Indian with such heavy accent, it is difficult at best to understand them. No matter what they say they WILL NOT benefit you. In my case, asking for a forebearance for 4 months thru an eviction to allow GMAC direct access to TWO interested buyers - GMAC simply filed foreclosure. As for me, I went 7 rather than bury myself further. GMAC went so far as to suggest I short my child support or to erradicate my 401. Folks....no matter what they say, GMAC stands for "Get Money Any Chance". Don't trust them.

GMAC automatically put insurance on it themselves WITHOUT consulting us at all. So now we owe them an extra $77.00 for the lousy 2 weeks of insurance. I am submitting this anonymously because due to the trouble I am having with GMAC at the moment I AM AFRAID of retailation. They can demand payment in full any time they want. When I called and spoke with one of their reps, he took @ 5 min. with me on the phone reviewed my account, told me that my house was worth less than the current loan amount and he could do nothing. The lenders do not want to assist agencies that have the authorization to close these buildings until they (lenders) can act accordingly. Who do you call when you need help, just think how you would feel if they choose to ignore your calls?

Now here is the rub - I've talked to many in their organization regarding a modification on this particular loan. They never informed me that it couldn't be done. But sent me the paperwork to do it. In addition the rep from the Loss Mit Department spoke out of both sides of her mouth. First it was, hypothetically, "it could be the investor" and then 2 minutes later when I pressed the issue, it became the investor. This leads me to believe that these comments are outright lies or someones lack of understanding as to what their company is saying. Isn't it the right of a consumer or any individual to ask why? It is unfortunate that the company is not informing their staff so they can answer questions, resolve issues. Right now GMAC is a hold button and if you have an hour or more you may try to get an uninformed comment. Needless to say I sent the MOD package in 10/2 - no answer as of 10/10 (not even a call back saying we don't do on this type of loan) and they pulled up the paperwork and said without looking at the particulars the borrower is over-extended. Well yes - they are based upon the 30 year option payment... but they are strapped and need help with the interest only payment. If someone would just review information, be informed and try to help. The public is being requested to call, help is there. Well guess what... that 'help' hasn't trickled down from Washington yet and the big boys on top at GMAC must be saying yes to D.C. & say no to the client. What a waste...

GMAC Financial Services give horrible customer service. They promise to do something for you, like fax documents somewhere but don't accomplish it. Horrible Customer Service.

Received a foreclosure notice from GMAC Financial Services on 21June stating that no payments made in April & May- HAVE RECEIPTS!! Now, since they routinely don't accept payments when one is allegedly past due...where are the June, July, and Augusts payments?? Master in Equity hearing on 4 Sept. Details to follow...

GMAC is a difficult company to work with. Had the money to bring the loan current and they were missing two pieces of info and wouldn't take payment in the mean time. After a month of calling, I was told rudely that they were very busy. Like I'm not. They are running a business and don't know how to deal with people very well, even if you try to comply.

I cannot blame the mortgage company for my financial problems. they have been fair and courteous, and willing to work with me -- with outside persistence -- although they had the option to refuse to work with me at all. I hope they still have it in their hearts to work with me!

We fell behind once before and I had to play phone tag around Christmas. I was told if we needed to work out payments to call before the end of December and when I did I couldn't get through or when I did talk to someone they just kept telling me to call before the end of the month. January hit and I finally talked to someone and they were willing to make arrangements as soon as I sent them one payment, which I did not have. They don't care they have a home and a stable job.

GMAC Financial Services asked for the last dime we had to pay mortgage and forced us to pay triple to catch up, spoke rude and difficult to work with. They don't care if a person is ill and can't pay their mortgage.

GMAC Financial Services is not the best to deal with, but they are in 2nd position, so I guess this is to be expected. Try to comply with their wishes on how to proceed to sell home, but selling in this immediate market where I live calls for measures that are beyond what is on their protocol list. They don't get it!
