We tried to do some sort of work out with the help of a non-profit counseling angency. At that time, we were only 4 months behind, but, Franklin Credit told our counselor that there was no workout plan and they wanted 1/2 or nothing. 1/2 would have been approx. $6,000(including other fees) and I only had $4,000 (cash) to give them. They refused to accept it. I don't get that. Even if I wanted to make payments, they would send it back. Now, We are 12 months behind because I couldn't send 1/2, which grew in amount each month. This all happened after my husband was laid off, for the first time in his life, after 20 years of working as a carpenter. My husband is in the Local Carpenters Union and makes great money. If this can happen to us, I can see why the mortgage crisis exists. It's horrible, sad, and ridiculous.

their reps. lie, they write letters saying they tried to work with you and that didn'y take place, they are predatory lenders and i was told they don't do refinancing.

Franklin Credit has not sent us a statement since January 2008. They did not notify us that we were in default but put us straight into foreclosure in March. We were able to reinstate our mortgage under Ohio law in June but now they say we still owe thousands -- the number is never the same twice when they call us. We tried calling to get a new statement and were referred to Sharonda Oriol but she has not returned any calls; neither does her supervisor. Oh, and now they tell the credit bureaus that we are "late" and in foreclosure again. Like the poster from Philly asked, what can we do?

I was sent to this company in 2001. I have been paying my mortage of 338.oo for years and just this month I received my credit report and they are saying that I have been delinquent for 41 months and have been in foreclosure since that time. I would like to know how I have been in foreclosesure for that long and have been staying in my house. They have yet to pay my taxes or insurance, even though I have given them extra to do so. Their files are really messed up and even they can't seem to figure it out. What should I do? Any suggestions out there?

Even though I have not made any payments in a while the company is still being patient with me, to catch the mortgage up.

Franklin Credit failed to pay my home owners insurance. I was contacted by ZC Sterling (home ownwers) by mail and told that it had not been paid. I called Franklin credit and after much round about discussions I was told that it would be taken care of immediately! One week later, I recieved more correspondence from ZC Sterling saying that Franklin Credit did not pay the home owners insurance. They filed my 2006 taxes on my home incorrectly. Said that I only paid $3,000.00 in taxes when I had paid $6,000.00. This year they filed that I had paid $9,000.00 in taxes, when agaion it was $6,000.00. I had to contact Prince Georges county to find out what was actually paid in taxes in order to file my returns properly. I have over the years called Franklin Credit approximately 30+ times to resolve issues. Customer Service us chacteristically rude and NEVER return phone calls. I do not see how they can take advantage of people and it be legal. I have had to spend over $1,000.00 in attorney fees alrady and still have nothing resolved. I continue to pay, am not late, send my payments by registered mail, they sign for the payment, keep it and basically say that I have not paid them. What can be done about this company. I read similar complaints from other clients online jsut today. Their practices have to be illegal. They have thrown my escrow account into arrearages of more than $6,000.00. Tehy aclaim to have paid this amount and more in MOrtgage insurance in December! I have no idea how that can happen. I got no explanation, neither did my attorney.

They changed my payment date without notifying me and they changed my payment amount without notifying me. Next thing I knew I was in foreclosure.

They have been really good about trying to work with us when we have fallen behind on our payments for reasons out of our control. We have had way better luck dealing with them unlike our second mortgage company. Now they are rude.

Franklin Credit bought my 2nd mortgage but didn't send me a monthly bill. When the first payment was over due they started calling every 30 minutes demanding their payment. Even after the payment was made over the phone they still continued to call every 30 minutes. They blamed it on their computer. Same thing happened the next month. They finally understood they have to send a statement to get paid.

They failed to make the payment for my homeowners insurance once I got behind. They failed to notify me of this and the first I heard was when I got a bill from my insurance company stating that Franklin Federal would not pay.
