equity one-the branch manager in charlotte, north carolina. i went through a nasty divorce and had to file chapter 7. she chewed me out for 30 minutes or longer telling me what she had been through. now they owe taxes on the property and i can't get in touch with them. they are also reporting reposessed on my credit. how can they report an unsecured loan as reposessed. i agree with all the negative comments.

we did a short sale on our home in 2007 to avoid a foreclosure after we found our arm loan was rising. We signed the papers and sold for 6000 less than what was owed which they agreed to. Now, trying to buy a house, we have discovered they listed it in our credit as a foreclosure.

our account was discharged in bankruptcy 8 years ago and we received a bill today that our account has been sold. we had the property sold in 2002 but equity one would give us no payoff because the buyers were going to pay cash, now the property has gone down and is just sitting there. Horrible company

we told them the day we knew we would not make a payments. we sent them our info 3 times and have talked by phone many times she told us they were going to help and work with us nothing was done and we just received foreclosure.

I HAVE AN ACCOUNT THAT WAS DIDCHARGED IN BANKRUPTY 12 YRS AGO AND THEY CONTINUE TO REPORT IT AS OWING TO CREDIT BUREAU. ITS ILLEGALLY. PLUS WE SOLD THE HOUSE AND OWED THEM 0. AND NOW I CAM'T REACH THEM BY PHONE TO SPEAK TO A PERSON. I HAVE BEEN CALLING ALL DAY.

You have to put in 50 calls just to get someone on the phone. The worst customer service in history. I was trying to buy a place and they still wouldn't get back with me. Awful!

They found some way to appraise our house at an inflated price and give us a high rate when the property value was worth 20,000 less then what they appraised it for now we can't refinance to a fixed rate because of there shady business practices

Very ppor customer service. They lie to you, they send inaccurate information to credit bureau's and they withhold information from you until they need to use it against you. Beware if you deal withthis company. Rates increased from 1600 to 2400 in 5 months.

They have been good to me

One of the worst companies. They have poor customer service. and are never willing to work with you. I wish that our loan would have never been sold to them. They have made our life absolutely miserable. Never had any problems with our first mortgage company, but these people are mean to even try to talk to. Good luck to anyone that gets a loan with them. be prepared that if you ever go through a couple of months of hard times, they will not work with you with any kind of payment plan to get back on track. It is there way or foreclosure.

I found Equity One employees easy to deal with and very pleasant.

starstarno starno starno star by Anonymous From Burnsville, NC on March 03, 2008

they would not work with us any way at all. Now they have been sold and did not even tell me until 2 weeks ago. they also fail to follow up on phone calls when you request any type of information from them.

starstarno starno starno star by Anonymous From Sterling Heights, MI on January 21, 2008

They don't know what they're doing as far as managing their portfolios. Equity One fails to follow up on anything you ask them to do.
