About Countrywide Financial
Countrywide Financial is one of the best companies we work with. We have a great relationship with them. They are willing to work with the home owner to get their situation resolved. They work in a timely manner if a sale date has been set to get the file reviewed and assigned to a negotiator. They do have a process they go through to help home owners with assistance. Each file has to be pre-qualified and then goes through a review and assignment process. We know the process and prepare a detailed plan of action tailored to meet your needs and to help you with your foreclosure.
You can see by the plans we have brokered below for our clients. We can get you set up with a Loan Modification or a Repayment Plan to stop the foreclosure.
From their website:
"Countrywide is a diversified financial services company with mortgage banking at its core. As Americas leading home loan lender, Countrywide was built on the philosophy that those desiring the American dream deserve the opportunity to own a home. Since 1969, Countrywide has worked diligently to break down the barriers to homeownership and help millions of American families and individuals become homeowners."

They just won't talk to me. I've been trying to talk to them since the first of the year. I did get notice that they would get a hold of me. I keep calling & writing trying to get the interest rate lowered. Well its almost July & I can't even get my lawyer to help.

If they were any type of company do you not think they would want to help you instead of making matters worse for you. My monthly payment when we tried to go with loan modification went up by $600.00 I wanted help not to put us into more financial strain.

This mortgage company has existing lawsuits from several states in our union. I myself except for the sale of my home without proper notification as is demanded by the State of California foreclosure Laws am extremely disappointed with how my home was TAKEN from me with giving me the opportunity to save it.

by Anonymous From Denver, CO on July 01, 2008
If you get behind with payments- good luck. They string you along with promises for months only to pull out the plug and tell you you are out of options and your sale date is a week away.

I've had 2 different mortgages with Countrywide I was always on time before my mortgage started to adjust I tried to refinance at that time my credit was good they would not help me I really tried to work with them

by Anonymous From Reno, NV on June 26, 2008
Before we were in a financial bind we tried to refinance, but because their records had my income on the initial morgage at $250K from the bank who sold them the loan, when we gave them our 2007 income at $650K and were willing to give them audited company financials and our tax returns the turned the loan down as the increase in income didn't fit the underwriters criteria?

I called to try to get help from them and be proactive to stop my foreclosure from happening but they told me that I had not missed any payments so there was nothing they could do for me. I told them that I was barely hanging on and that I was worried that I would not have the money to pay them soon and they just did not care. No wonder their stock is tanking, this is a poorly run business with a terrible track record for customer service. This is what happens when a company gets too big, nobody cares. I am sure that they are completely apathetic to this entire situation at this point and realize that they gave out too many bad loans and convinced people like con men that they could afford a home that they clearly could not. Way to go Countrywide, you suck!

I talked to one gentleman and he did a workout an it was approved but was denied the next day by another office before they even received it.How is that possible.I could just chew nails and spit rust,I'm trying to hold back profanities. Not enough room to say all the bad things about this company

by Anonymous From Greenville, PA on June 25, 2008

They are better than some, worse than others. They have been fairly good to me and tried to help somewhat. However, they never got back in touch with me when I requested a special forbearance plan and this caused me to go from 2 months behind to 4 months behind on my mortgage. Now that I'm having problems with the repayment plan being too much to pay monthly, they want to charge me a higher payment of $1062 for 15 months for late charges, fees, etc., in order to catch up a $1700 arrearage for April and May. I think this is highway robbery and there must be some way to get help on this small amount of money. It's a lot of money to me, but very little when compared with most people's mortages these days. With a husband in dialysis and multiple health issues, and limited income, we have limited resources and make "too much money" to qualify for most state or federal programs. They wouldn't accept a partial payment of over half of the amount due for May 15, 2008. It's ridiculous when mortgage companies refuse to take partial payments. Something is better than nothing, and most places will take partial payments. They should not be allowed to refuse partial payments. Thanks.
