I Contacted Citi Mortgage long before I had any credit problems or late payments. I had just gone through a divorce and I am on 100% Disability. What I make I could not at that rate continue to pay Lights, Phone, Food, Mortgage, Gas, and Medical needs. So I contacted Loss Mitigation dept. They set me up on a forbearance plan that after a period it would finally show me behind and thus qualify me for the new stimulus package. I was told to make all payments to the loss mitigation dept. at Citi. But What I did not know was that Citi Mortgage Collections was reporting to the 3 main Credit B.. That I had not made any payments at all. Then I was told their computers are not linked to Loss Mitigation departments. So the Credit went down hill like a snowball. My good accounts of Credit cards that were 9% all shot up to 29% and I had 2 creditors totally Close my accounts citing the recent Non-Payments from Citi Mortgage. I have been totally screwed by Citi Mortgage. Being disabled and now after all this time I am now told that my credit score may decide whether or not I qualify for the Stimulus Loan. I just can't believe a Business like this is allowed to operate in the USA and get 35 Billion from the Tax Payers and then use that money to buy up Chinese Banks instead of Helping the United States Citizens out. WHAT IS THEIR CREDIT SCORE AFTER THEY BILKED THE TAX PAYERS????

We have done our best to try you save these homes that were 60 days delinquent. However when we tried to contact the homeowners about their defaulted loan we would get rude responses and we tried to help all you Damn homeowners and all we got has a rude answer and that's it. Then when the loan became 90-91 days delinquent that's when I came into the picture read all the notes on the delinquent loan and I would see the property vacant I would lock the prop to protect the value of the home and once again the homeowners would call asking why we locked them out? First the property is vacant and delinquent and then that's when we rcvd calls of all you RUDE HOMEOWNERS asking as to why the home was locked. Pay the Mortgage and the you won't be in this situation!

Citi residential lending mortgage company is the worst mortgage company in the U.S. They are some of the worst people I have ever had to deal with. They are a bunch of crooks with jobs and could talk all that baloney over the phone when they do answer it,after selling out to american home mortgage now they will not answer at all. all of you guys that are blaming citi because of poor customer service and mortgage payments that are going up, you guys are stupid... read the print before you sign your loan documents.. if you are on a 2 or 3 year adjustible and after that time it goes up its not their fault.. Its all of your fault!!! don't blame them blame the real estate market... they try to help people with "GOOD" credit scores with their payments... but bottom line most of you guys probably don't even deserve the type of interest rate that you received...

I also tried to refinance with Citi Mortgage because I had an adjustable mortgage already with them, which went up $300.00 a month, I am current on my loan and have not been late on any payments since I have had a mortgage with them or any other company. When I tried to refiancne they said they would do the refi if I came up with $15,000.00, (the vaule of my house went down and the closing cost) If I could afford to give them the $15000.00 I would not be refiancning with them, I would go to someone else. When I tried to get my apprasial from them I had to go thru hoops to get anyone to listen to me, the only way I got any where with them is to fax them a letter threating them. Any one I spoke with there just put it off on someone else and no one could help you. They would not help me with a loan modification, no one wants to hear anything. I have had several problems with Citi Mortgage and no one cares or is there to help when needed. They totally messed up my escrow account sending me the money that should have paid my insurance premium, then increasing my monthly payment to adjust for the difference. I returned the money with a letter explaining in great detail that the money needed to go back into my escrow. When I verified what was suppose to be done with the money, I found that they applied the funds to reduce the balance of the principle of my loan. I had to contact them several times to get this corrected, then I received a letter from my insurance company that my insurance was going to be cancelled because of non payment. What is going on with Citi Mortgage? Are they totally losing it, they do not want to listen to anyone and they know everything, but they really know nothing and are out to get their customers. This is totally unexceptable. I am working with another company presently hoping to get out of doing business with them. I think the government should step in......

We had Ameriquest then Amc then Citi now American Servicing. They are down right preditors!!Stay away! We are in foreclosure will be homeless very soon! No one tried to help us.We got lied to and the run around. My husband had a stroke he is only 45-they are heartless. It is true that they are more aggressive to people who have equity etc.I put down $100,000.00 on this house to some people it is a drop in the bucket- and now I loose it. My husband lost the payments he made monthly. From here on out I will never ever want or desire to own a home! Even though this was our second home.As for the comments on buying a home you could'nt afford that is wrong people can but things in life happen!!Let us know when things happen to you and how your financial situation changes because it does. And as for the mortgage broker saying they are okay you are just like them-predators! Don't tell me you that you are not. By the way if anyone is looking for a mortgage or to re-finance do not go through COLTRAIN FUNDING,LLC they are located on Long Island phone number is 631-851-4420 they are hungry predators!!May things get better for everyone.

My problem with Citi Residential is slightly different than most of these posts. I was in the process of purchasing a foreclosure that Citi Residential owned. We were under contract to close on or before the 17th of February. On the 3rd of February we get a call from our realtor to go to her office to sign off on all the closing paper work. After signing all the documents, they were sent via mail to Citi Residential for them to sign. We wired about 17,000 dollars to the title company for the down payment, closing costs, etc. We called our land lord and advised him we were vacating the rental at the end of february which gave us plenty of time to move and do what was nessasary. I get a call from our loan officer a few days later and she tells me that Citi Residential sold the loan to American Servicing Co., and there would be a black out period until the 19th of February in which no papers would be signed by the new owner of the loan. I don't understand how or why Citi Residential could sell a loan that was under contract and was going to close in a few days. My interest rate that I got at 5.00 percent expired on the 17th and my loan officer sayed if I wanted to keep the 5.00 percent interest I would need to pay $900.00 for a 10 day extention. So I went for it. The 19th comes around and still no end to the black out period and nobody knows when its going to end. I recently was told it would end on the 26th of February, but it could be many days, or weeks, possibly months before I can close on this house. I have to be out of my rental on the 28th with my 4 kids and a house full of stuff. I blew 900 bucks for a 10 day extention on my percentage rate which isn't going to happen. If I would have broken the contract with Citi Residential I would have lost $2500 in earnest money. But there's no penelties for Citi Residential braking the contract and costing me thousands of dollars on higher percentage rates, rental fees, and not to mention the few houses I was also interested in that have since been purchased. I realize I'm not in the same situation as a family being forclosed on, but I needed to vent my anger at citi residential for being a poorly managed corperation.

I HIGHLY recommend you refinance your loans with a bank like Chase (someone that will not sell your loan to someone else). American Home Mortgage is just as bad as Citi. They do answer the phone, but take months and months to maybe fix the problems that they have caused. They paid our BUILDINGS taxes , which was 68K, this gave us a negative Escrow. It took over 4 months for them to clear this mistake, and they recently paid our buildings taxes AGAIN. IT IS A NIGHTMARE. Pay the new closing fee's, it is going to be worth it.

Citi uses stall tactics. They had several good offers on my home and we acting they were ready to sign the contract to avoid a foreclosure. The next week I found out they sold it to American Home Servicing Mortgage Co.and I cannot talk to them about the possible sale for another month. Now my file has been sent to a lawyer for foreclosure and US Bank (who also was agreeing the short sale) sent me to collection. Now it will be in foreclosure and they will probably $25,00 get less than the sale contract. WE NEED TO START A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CITIRESIDENTIAL!

Our nightmare with Citi Residential Lending is like most of yours. We tried to avoid foreclusure but no matter which way we turned Citi would not cooperate, they always used stall tactics. They bought our loan from AMC. AMC screwed us by sneaking in a prepayment clause and doing our income wrong on the refinance. They requested W2's from us but they did not use them they put stated income and they loaned us more then we could afford. We tried to work with Citi to avoid foreclosure and everytime they used stall tactics. It was such an emotional roller coaster ride with them. One week it sounded like you could save your house and the other you were going to lose it! This went on for six months! We did everything they asked of us for a loan mod. We even had to apply 3 times! Consequently we lost our home, but they didn't even do that right! They gave us no legal notice of a lock change. We had no communication from them at all. They locked us out of our house 12/30/08 only 23 days after the sheriff sale. Deed was still in our name transfer did not happen. In PA we are to be given at least 30 days written notice of lock change. They threatened to prosecute us for taking our appliances, i.e., fridge, stove, washer and dryer. We left the built ins! The only claim they have to appliances is built ins! We had to see an attorney to be able to get back into our house and get our stuff! I gave Citi an offer to bring our loan back down to its original principal balance ($202,000), just to get rid of their $25,000 in fees. As I told them they would not get anywhere near this offer in a foreclosure and that foreclosure didn;t benefit anyone. Now they have amy house listed for $179,900! Thru all of this we have lost our home, self respect, confidence and most of all our dignity. We were set up for failure to begin with! God bless us all who are going through this, let there be compassion somewhere.

They are rude, impolite, and incompetent. I asked for information regarding the parameters of the loan re-structuring after being called by a collections agent. She summarily told me that she cannot provide that information until I have paid the outstanding balance. Her name was Ms. Love. She informed me of the denial of re-structuring even though she did not work in that department and when asked, she would not transfer me to that department to discuss my own mortgage. She boldly spoke for another department that was not her own. They sold my loan to another company before I got the letter of decline.

I have had the same problems as the rest of you...(Ameriquest to AMC to Citi) After buying owning my home for 12 years, financed with a local bank, I remarried. Apparantly, when I married, I assumed ALL his credit problems as well. So after more problems with the husband, we separated, which left me in a huge amount of debt and repairs needing to be done to the house. so I re-financed with Ameriquest, with the plan to convert to a fixed rate in two years. Of course, after two years, my mortgage was held by Citi, and they weren't re-financing, or modifying loans. The had major surgery and was out of work for six weeks. Of course, this put me behind on all my bills, I spoke with Citi several times, trying to get a payment holiday, or something, to no avail. Customer service is the worst, They wouldn't return my calls, BUT they were constantly calling me at my job, even after being told by me and my boss not to call anymore, which is against the law. Things became worse, to the point of having to file Chap 13, just to get them off my back. Its been over a year, one payment was made 10 days late, the rest have all been on time, but after the one late payment was paid and subsequent ones made on time, I get a letter from my attorney stating that because of the one late payment, Citi had hired an attorney and I now had to pay $198.00 per month for 6 months to pay for this attorney. Needless to say, I cannot get financing from someone else because of the bankruptcy. I am now working two full time jobs just to keep my home. And repairs need to be done...heating, roof, septic, floor damage...I have spoken with someone via e-mail about a modification now, since the bailout, and was told to contact the bankruptcy dept, that I could get a modification. My attorney has to do this, because of the bankruptcy, So she was to contact them today. NOW, yesterday, I get a letter that another home mortgage company, AMERICAN HOME MORTGAGE, will be servicing my loan as of 2-11-09. I wonder if this is Citis way of making more money? Instead of modifying loans like they're supposed to with the bailout money, they just sell them? Has this happened to any of you? Does anyone know of American Home Mortgage? I am presently drafting letters to send to my congressmen, state representatives, BBB, and anyone else I can think of.

citi does suk big time and i agree with everyone i just reviewed. i should have never, never, took up the offer, ( want to buy a home of your own?) we can finance it for you. you have been prequalified. back in dec. 03 we applied for the loan, and closed in jan 04. and to this date have been screwed by ameiquest, amc, and now citi residential lending. however they where great to me in prossesing the loan. then in 2007, started screwing me over without a condom. now i'm facing a forclosure for the 3rd time, because of there office personel malfumalfunction disorders. they care about there own well being, not those that work there ass off to keep there home. now,no thanks to them basterds and bitches, our home of (5), our home will be sold 2.04.09. to the highest bidder. i worked my ass off, for a home for my family, and now because of there bullshit, i'm tryin to save it.they have sophisticated caller id, name, number, and reconized numbers, and ignor your calls. i don't have the (high teck) equipment to record them like they do me. god help us.

I contacted CITI prior to me falling behind on my mortgage and asked for a loan modification. I spoke to a different rep each day in the Office of the President. Several rep advised that I did not need to make any payments since I was going through the modification process. Good thing that I saved my money because after three months of non-payment,they contacted me and advised that I didn't qualify for the modification and that I needed to come up with a deposit of $2200.00 to prevent foreclosure. I paid that and then they wanted to put me on a plan to catch up the remaining 1 payment. I agreed to the program and now they have taken all access from me online and I don't receive a monthly staement from them. WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? I have to send all payments certified through the mail which causes extra money. So if they are trying to help, why can't you pay online and save a $14.00 express mail fee. This company sucks but I have faith that things will get better for me and I am going to re-finance with a different company.

Citi Residential bought my mortgage from Ameriquets when they went belly up. I've gotten late on my payments due to medical bills, surgery on a herniated disk. Citi sent me a notice that my home was for sale that month. I was desperate and agreed to pay the 25% down and go on another repayment plan that is 640 over my regular monthly payment! When I ask about modification that won't discuss, saying I don't qualify. I get a different agent everytime even though I have an account manager assigned. He is impossible to speak to, he is only a collections agent. They are rude and unprofessional to put it nicely!

The Citi Group will listen when an injunction is placed against them on any threat of foreclosure, until such time as they can show in a court hearing why they belive they have the right to foreclose when countless customers have tried in vane to get help from the lender. Any decent law firm willing to advertise SUE CITI GROUP-SAVE YOUR HOME will ring up the customers to sue them in a class action suit as well. All it takes is one person who know what to do to start the ball rolling, and some internet blogging. My friend is trying to pay off a $200,000 mortgage and Cit Residential says they cant do it because they are being SOLD TO CHASE in January 2009 and there is no time to do it, so unless they can pay all the past due of two months now, they will go into foreclosure.

STOP THE INSANITY! Stop being afraid! Fight for your rights! In FACT- The entire country should just go on strike for 90 days! I just lost my house to Citi Rsidential as well, I have been struggling financially for a while. June of 2007 AMC sent out Titanium Solutions to assist with a work out solution. I never spoke with Titanium Solutions however when I called AMC they stated they received info from them. I said how I never spoke to any one. None the less I filled out the documentation to try to get a loan mod. including a letter of hardship. They never responded, they only would accept forbearance agreement. If I had that money I would not have been behind. Citi Residential I was forced to file chapter 13 none the less a financial nightmare. Although Citi Residential did not take over until Oct. 07 they are reporting to credit bureau back to March of 07. So now I have AMC and Citi Residential reporting as to mortgage loans.

My experience with Citi Residential has been profoundly disenchanting. We have never been late on a payment. Our insurance payment was due and I received a letter from our homeowners insurance stating they were going to cancel our policy for non-payment. I contacted Citi and they informed me that this property was a townhome, and Citi does not insure townhomes. I explained my home has been a single family residence since 1989. After another phone call I was told we did not escrow for insurance. I faxed the original documention to Citi. 30 days later I did a follow up call and was told they need the request in writing. It took them 120 + days for them to respond to me. I was forced to pay 1/2 of the insurance due to avoid cancelation. After they responded, they admitted insurance was escrowed, however, they adjusted our payment $189.00 a month. This was in addition to the payment I made to our Insurance provider. They have an overpayment on our escrow account of $1890.00. Our interest rate has gone up 2.5 points in 7 months. They will not work with us. They want us to do a short sale, but I refuse. My husband has a 750 mid fico and we are currently paying 9.125 a month. It adjusts again in April. Unacceptable. They can have the house.

I believe that AMC was a predatory lender after having my family member look over my paperwork last year. I have had to file bankruptcy and my attorney wants me to include the house in it because I have lost about $80,000 in equity, Yes $80,000. Citi has also refused to work with me and I feel that their plan is to let us, the tax payers, bail them out as they continue to foreclose on our properties. Think about it, the BAILOUT from the federal government (our tax dollars). why can't we refuse to give them our money just as they refuse to help us. My loan has been in the modificatin department for more than a year. I was finally able to get someone to work on it about a week ago. He (Gilbert) contacted me within two days and offered me a deal. He asked for a reasonable down payment and increased my payment by @ 300 dollars. This didn't bother me at all because taxes and insurance had been added into the mortgage amount. He asked me if I could afford the new payment and I said yes. I was very excited that I was able to save my home. I actually thanked God for making it all possible. After making the down payment, I recieved the official documents in the mail. The new payment was almost 400 more than what was presented to me. I got sick. I called Gilbert back. He attempted to lie to me and tell me that he had told me about the delinquent taxes they had paid on my behalf. Then he made the comment. "Ther're already paid and we can't change that". By the end of the conversation, he appologized for not quoting me the correct payment amount and was supposed to call me back the same day...That didn't happen. I can almost guarantee that Citi is up to no good. Whatever they are doing, is on purpose and to gain something for the company. Pure greed I believe.

I want to say that I have had very NEGATIVE experiences w/ Citi. They also bought my mrtgage from Ameraquest, which was much more easier to deal with. Actually they were Angels compared to Citi. Never get the same rep twice and theynever seem to know what the prev worker says. My mom fell behine in her mortage in January 2008 and each payment made was applied to the prev payment, by the time I releized it she was 4 months behind. I called them and they told me that $4000 was owed, and I made arrangements to pay them the following week. When I called them the day before to get the exact amount I was told that the amount owed was 13,000-up 10,000 from 4 days ago. they told me that they had paid my back taxes of 9,000 on the Monday after i spoke to them, wwwwwhich actually were not due until this Oct. Now I had to pay them $12,000 to keep the house from forclosure. I paid them that after borrowing from an uncle, and now my monthly payments went from $750/m to $1556/m. for the next 12 months and my loan will show as being in default until then. This is a very hard struggle, but b/c they decided to pay my taxes on their own before they were due (Oct) I have to make these larg payments. DO THEY CARE? NO. Each payment has been made on time. Now they have listed my house inforclosure w/ the county court house.

Citi residential is a bad bank. i live in detroit and the listing office for the house that i want is in michigan. the bank that owns the home is citi residential. my fiance and i have been waiting for almost 2 months just to get a signed purchase agreement back from that place. they want us to be closed by aug. 26, yet they have not sent us the documents that are needed to even go into closing and it is aug. 19. And if we dont close in time they can cancel the transaction or have us pay 100/day. i do not like this bank and i wish we did not have to deal with them at all. We have been waiting almost 2 months to get a signed purchase agreement back. we believe that this is our dream home and we do not want to back out but citi residential is not a good bank to work with at all.

I too have had difficulty in talking with Cit Residental Lending. We have been dealing with them for over 2 years and are desperately trying to get re-financed. After reading everyone blog it is apparent that this is a company that everyone should stay clear of. We have been threatend with foreclosure twice, and ech time have had to pay alot of money to get them stopped. We now are making payments double what we can even begin to afford and are at the point where it is impossible to keep paying. We have to much equity to let it go and i am on my 3rd week and 24 th call to get someone to talk to. If anyone knows of a good re-fi mortgage company that can help any of us get out of this Loan with these people please share your information.

I should have known better...In 2006 we contacted a mortgage broker to refinance our home which was in need of repairs and updating. He ran us through Citi which I honestly did not feel good about bcause they had done the suspense thing with my mother, forclosed on her home and stole the money in suspense...Started having issues in January because of the economy own a business that caters towards remodeling and construction. I did everything they tell you to do..I contacted the lender as soon as I knew their was an issue..Had some money came in got caught up..this went on for a few months...In May I contacted them about setting up a small weekly payment until current..They refused telling me the only thing they could do was set up a repayment for the arrearage...They did not listen when I tried to explain that our income had become irradic and I was not comfortable with this program. So May comes I can't make the excellerated payment but I know I have money comming in I knew I needed a forebearance and modification if I ever wanted to end this nightmare...so I sent in my pw to loss mediation..called when I recieved the funds to get current..The customer service lady was RUDE to say the least demainding that if I didn't make three payments (two behind one comming due) they would not take a dime..although I had the money and this was my intention It completely rubbed me the wrong way and all I could think was what a bunch of morons...Needless to say same thing happened in June this time after trying to call Citi about 20 times I gave up and called Hope Now...Whom agreed that I needed a forebearance and modification to get me current. And at first I felt great about my contact..I was told DO NOT make any attempt to get my mortgage current because they would not work with me once I did...That was 4 weeks ago..I have not recieved a package I was told to wait for from Hope Now..I was told I had a councelor with Cit whom I have yet to hear from..To be honest with you I am about to give up A. My house is no longer worth the paper B. My taxes have increased. C. I am getting hit with a huge impact fee for city water D. It would be less money for me to file BK, and come up with the deposit money needed to rent a new place for about 1/3 of what it will cost me to remain in my home... Citi has the most messed up phone systems in the world..They call me tell me to hold three times now I have waited and been disconnected and once I waited and was told the number I was trying to reach had been disconnected...What the hell is that! I do not believe that these companies want people to stay in their homes..I don't know the angle but it seems to me their is something funny going on. This issue is more than than subprime, adjustable rate BS with a crisis of this magnitude they should and could be doing more to help people out.

It seems as if they want customers to go into foreclosure because they will not make load modifications unless ordered to do so by the government. Maybe they make more more if the house goes into foreclosure than if the homeowner keeps the house.

I work there and can tell you all right now that its managements fault why reps can't offer help. Citi bought out AMC and so they kept the same people working in their offices..nothing has changed...you are still dealing with the uneducated managers that ran AMC. We are all being laid off soon and so if you think they treat the customers bad they shaft the employees also. We are told now that we are not allowed to offer loan modifications because Citi doesn't have enough people to work all the files. I can't tell you how many times files get lost and paperwork is missing because the place is disorganized. Yet the customer will get a declined letter stating they never sent the info in and their house goes to foreclosure sale. If they treated the employees right then I wouldn't be posting this....

I wish I would have come across this site when I first started dealing with Citi. We too are victims of them trying to force a family of five into forclosure. In January of 2008, I called them to set up automatic withdraw payments. They set them up til June. I was told at the first of June to call them and they would set up another 5 months. January, paid...February, paid...March, paid...April, they didn't withdraw and May they didn't withdraw. I didn't catch it til we recieved a phone call from a friend of ours at the local newspaper letting us know that our house was being sold at the Courthouse on June 26th for default on a loan. I was SICK!!!! I immediatley got on the phone with Citi and could never get the same answer all 4/5 times I called them. They wouldn't let me speak to any management or supervisor! They were so rude and hateful and had me in tears several times. I told them the money was in our account to just withdraw it and they refused. They told me they would never accept anything else other than certified funds from us from here on out. The two months of payments were not enough. They also charged us with Forclosure/lawyer and court costs even though all of this was their fault. So...to pull our home out of forclosure our agreement is that we would give them a $1,500 deposit and our payments will go from $649 a month to $998.80 for the next 12 months!!! How and why are these people still in business and what can people like us do? We are good honest Christian people and this was so wrong!! I just Western Unioned them the $1,500 and signed and faxed the agreement back to them. We immediatley put our home up for sale, even though we have no idea what we are going to do. On top of that our interest rate goes to a balloon note in September! Our realtor has advised us to do a short sale with these people and then rent for awhile. I actually pulled a credit report, which I've never done, and Citi already has listed on our file "Forclosure"!!! How will we ever be able to get another home with this now on our credit!?!? Like I said earlier, we are Christian people and we are having to put a lot of faith and trust into our God right now! With a family of 5 and pets that we've had for 13 years...it's going to be very hard to find a place. Can anyone out there help people like us? These companies have all their "i's" dotted and their "t's" crossed and no one can touch them. If anyone is considering refinancing with this company or possibly purchasing a home with their lending...DON"T!!!! We have lost many nights of sleep over this and I have cried and have made myself sick. We have no choice but to pay the $998.80 payments til we get this home sold. By the way...our payoff on our loan is only $66,000!!! Payments like this can be on a brand new home here in Missouri!!! If any other lender reads this and has a heart...please contact us and refinance us or help get into another home!!! You can e-mail us at thuntsperger@yahoo.com! Citi took over my loan from AMC right before my ARM was re-setting in November 2007. My payment went up $550.00 and May of 2008 went up another $200.00. I inquired about a "short sale" and was told "get it listed now." The next day my home was for sale. Citi agreed to lower the asking price and my agent got an offer for the asking price. Did Citi accept the offer to sell? Of course not. The Citi Rep. provided her Senior Mgt. contact and my real estate agent called. Senior Mgmt told my agent "We want the home to go into foreclosure, we don't care." It's really unbelieveable, Citi wants your home to go into foreclosure. What is their hidden agenda? Wouldn't selling the home for the asking price that they approve be better than letting it go into foreclosure with add'l costs to them? Appears they want their customers lives and credit ruined.

They have the worse Customer Service! Especially when you call in to advise that you are in financial hardship and they reply with a cold uncaring attitude. I cried when I called them once while sharing how deep into confusion about my finances I was and seeking advice about my mortgage/foreclosure and they were of no help. I thought they may have a department that can give advise to those experiencing financial hardship, they do not. They just wanted their money. I pay my mortgage the best I can but I am late. They call but I can't and won't talk to them because they appear to not understand and of course rude. I figure I'll talk to them when I am caught up or when I have found another mortgage company to replace them. I have requested help with payment arrangements they just suggest I get the money from someone else. If it were that easy I would have done just that. Others around me are dealing with financial problems too so how can I ask anyone for assistance? I finally got help but it was through a benevolent fund through my church. They helped pay for 1 month, Thank you God! I would have imagined my mortgage company to be of the same and/or similar help, not! I hope to find a replacement soon. Thank you.

I have comment for the person that said was bulled into a loan, first and foremost, no one can make you sign anything, they can tell you everything and anything to get you to sign, but you have the last say so, no one puts a gun to your head to sign it, if it sounds to good to be true, most of the time it is, and my advice to people is read and understand everything you are signing and if the loan officer promises you something make sure you get it in writing, once the loan is done and completed the loan officer has nothing to with it anymore. And for people that say that the customer service is horrible, may it is or maybe not but most of the customers get mad when they don't hear what they want, its not a perfect world unfortunately People need to really think and realize what they are getting themselves into,

The last two times I have tried to talk to someone concerning when I would be making a payment, all I got was if you don't do a payment over the phone, we will report you to the credit bureau 30 days late and after tomorrow, you will be in foreclosure. After this I would be receiving a letter concerning foreclosure. This was said when I told them a check had been made and they should be getting it that day. They kept insisting for me to make the payment over the phone, and stop payment on that check. I assured them that they would get it that day and they did. Then before that month, I asked them if they had gotten any new guidelines from the federal or state governments to help people out with adjustable rate mortgages, she got off on another tangent about losing your home. I responded to her with I didn't ask you that, and you all must have a script to keep reading back the same thing all the time. I'm giving the rating an average based on previous months when I talked with someone earlier, but actually they have gone to poor!

It took all of my remaining savings to get her through college until her medical settlement arrived 18 months later with me almost bankrupt and my credit destroyed. I was forced to refinance my loan with Ameriquest and the rest is history. Those bills and credit scores will follow me forever for loving my child and making sure she had what she needed to heal. I guess if that's the price I have to pay I will. But, somehow it has to change. Somehow those who work hard, pay all their bills, no matter how late, shouldn't be punished when life happens at someone else's hand. It is punishment. Plain and simple. i had my loan thru amc mortgage services and when i did my loan was not told i would be having an arm loan, failing to read the terms of my loan i started making paymnts i soon found myself struggling to make my paymnts once i called them i was told that there was nothing they can do to help me.i was upset because i didnt want to get a nite job to be making my monthly paymnts that would mean less time with my family, i asked for a loan mod and was told that they dont do them. if i had taken the time to read over my contract.(anyone knows that contracts are not to be entered lightly) i would have read and realized of my arm rate increase of 2 points.customer service made no attempt to help me get out a mess that if would have taken 20 min to read or use my resision period of 3 days would have realized it.so having no one to blame for this but myself i got a second job and my stay at home wife quickly got a job and between the 2 of us we were able to get on track.so next time you want to blame the employees there realize that you are a grown human being and have responsibilities and they are not meant to help you get your life and priorities in order but to lend money for a home loan.think 2times before entering every loan and realize that you are in america where as a consumer you have rights so dont complain when when you are told to get a second job or to that you dont qualify for anything.

I have sent my payment showing I paid my mortgage and and it was cashed by amc but now citi residential says that I need to pay again. I sent front and back copies of the check along with letter from bank and contact information. with no avail. Is there an attorney out there who can help us.

Called numerous times to discuss the fact I was having difficulties making my payments. They said they won't even talk to me until I was at least two months behind. I tried to be proactive when my rate adjusted and I knew I couldn't make the payment but they didn't seem to care.

I sent in more than the agreed amount in my forbearnce agreement via wire transfer. They held on to it for three (3)wks and then sent it back to and refused to accept it after that. They have now turned it over to a law firm for foreclosure. And this after I supplied them with ALL of the documentation they required. They told me they would contact me when they made a decision. Which they did with a summons to apear in court; they started foreclosure procedings against me. Early estamates from the law firm I have had added to my loan approxamatly seventeen thousand dollars in fees and late charges witch I will have to pay to keep my home. VERY GREEDY PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH avoid them at all cost. Rich

They will not assist with helping and you can explain the situation to them a million times. Also you can ask to speak to someone in upper management to try and get help but you never can speak to anyone in upper management. They will pretend like they have programs out there to help assist if you are behind but when you go through all of their departments and spending and hour and 45 minutes on the phone just to be told on we have no programs to help, who are these people and don't they know if they help you it will also be helping them to keep them from having a lot of foreclosures. I think they are the most heartless mortgage company i have ever had to deal with.

It is a bad situation when the human race decided that because you were in one position at one time you cannot fall due to unforeseen circumstances. In my case when the insurance and tax rates went sky high along with family medical problems this company representative would only demand payment. It is very sad not one wants to work with people who are really willing to make payment but is unable to do it on time. Yes I do make my payment but late. On one occasion I asked to make my previous payment about the 10th of the next month and was told no I have to make both payments. I had to cash out one of my pension to do so, because I did not want to loose my home that I have since 1994

Here's the deal. Citi Residential bought out the frauds, AMC/Ameriquest, at 4 cents to a dime, and set their plan in motion. Separate the wheat from the chaff. Force bad loans into foreclosure; be more aggressive on loans with a favorable equity/mortgage balance profile, and, after a year, cart in portfolio retention to do "regular business" with those who can weather the storm. They believe in high appraisals. Stick with that. Even if your credit stinks they will do business if you are sitting on high equities. Do not expect super customer service. Get your loan on a regular electronic withdrawal, use email to communicate (they can pass it laterally along the chain of command and don't need to worry about "mixed up" communications), and get a prime rate. Best bet--15 year fixed. Once that happens, keep your nose clean with late payments and get control of your finances.

I am a Realtor with a mortgage with AMC now CitiResidential. My worst nightmare...no business since the fires in SoCal Oct 07...plus got behind and now can't even get out of this mess..they won't offer any help but to request full payment of the arrears amount, no modifications, no forbearance.....they won't help after I have been with them over five years and they charged me over $40K in refinance charges. I also recently represented a client to purchase a foreclosure home that they had on their books. To this date, and that was three weeks ago...a full cash offer of $280K for a trashed house worth about $360K repaired...they won't respond. So you can throw money at them and still no response.

They keep changing their names. This company is not straight forward at all. A representative tells you that everything is ok over the phone and then all of a sudden, you get bad news in the mail from them. I am so tired. We have been with them through all of their name changes and everything. I would not recommend this company to anyone.!!!!!!!!!

I was with AMC to Citi and I don't like either of them as well as the mortgage company that got me the loan. I am probably close to foreclosure. They can have it. My house is now not worth the money I have the loan for. When I told Citi that I was sending payment late, they asked why. I told them income had decreased and she asked me if I had lied on the application. NO I did not. Unbelievable.

Started with Ameriquest, then AMC now Citi I find them all to be dishonest and not very helpful. You try to be honest and upfront about your situation and all you get is rude people on the other end that truth be told are probably in the same place we're in and acting holier than thou. I can only hope someone out there can help me get away from the mess I am in. I would never want to have to make another payment to them

I took an adjustable rate loan with the understanding that I would refinance in a year to a fixed rate. But when I called to refinance I was told to wait another year so I could build my credit even more at the time it was about 660. Then the rates started to go up on my loan and all hell broke loose. My wife lost her job and we decided to try and start our own business. I took loans out against my 401K and opened up shop. Things went good for a while then someone else in the same line of business opened up a new store and started underbidding us on all business in town. Business started getting slow and to make matters worse I had a heart attack and was out of work a little more than a month. We got behind on our mortgage two months and thats when they started the phone calls at both our jobs and two and three phone calls a day. Now my credit sucks and my rate is getting ready to go up again. No sympathy from lender just alot of constant harrassing phone calls. And to think I didn't get into the action lawsuit against AMeriquest and take their settlement. I'm not sure but I know they were sued for something illegal but I'm not smart enough to figure out the legal jargon in the lawsuit to figure out if I'm getting screwed too.

Bad company to do business with. There practices regarding paying taxes that are late are questionable and I would welcome an attorney commenting on them. This company pays late taxes (1/2 year) and then pays the remaining year early. Next, they require escrow and jack up the mortgage payments. Is this legal? Can I earmark my payments to my original loan and mortgage interest only? my email for comments: LMILLWO@yahoo.com

Citi Residential is the WORST!!! Customer service was really bad and no one knew anything to help me. I am exhausted with trying to get these people to listen to actually do their jobs. What is their problem? I have worked with other mortgage companies and never had this kind of problem.

starno starno starno starno star by Anonymous From Euless, TX on January 23, 2008

I had some problems with my bank cashing fraudulent checks and had to change banks to get it stopped. It cost me a boatload of money and I got behind with CitiResidential. I had set up the payment to catch everything up, but the third party failed to make the deposit to my account on the date I expected it. When I got the letter from Citi stating that the payment had been returned, I got on the phone immediately so that I could send them a cashier's check because I then had the money. I was advised that my account was in foreclosure prior to me receiving the letter. They did not contact me before taking that action, so now I owe an additional 1500 in fees and am on an outrageously expensive payment plan for the next 7 months. It is more than double my current mortgage payments. I don't know how I'll do it, but I don't want to lose my home. I had tried to get something worked out on several other occasions and the only thing their "customer service" people seem to know how to do is make demands for payment. As soon as I can, I am doing a refi with someone else.

My loan was originally thru Ameriquest then bought out by CitiResidential. They took over with no letters informing us. There were no notices of interest rates changing (within the 1st month); no past due or foreclosure notices sent (just our names in the local newspaper)! I called & they have put me on an outrageous & unaffordable payment plan. I asked about refinancing - the man laughed at me & said they don't even do it. At this point - we have attempted refinancing & getting nowhere - possible we may just have to walk away!

starno starno starno starno star by Michelle From La Quinta, CA on January 07, 2008

AMC sold my loan to Citi Len.. Just before my interest rate skyrocketed! I contact them to ask for refinance they denied me a refi because they are not doing them at all! I asked for loan modification then...I submitted all documents and was denied! They say, my home has appreciated in value and this does not give me a reason to modify the loan. But, I'm a Realtor their appraisal is incorrect, my house value has depreciated by $40K i told them. I tried having to lenders do a refi and was denied because my home value had declined I told Citi. They said, sorry nothing they can do. Yet if they feel my house has gone up in value why don't they refinance me???? they are JERKS. Now i will begin foreclosure!

we were with amc and was sold to citi fi, we got behind when work was slow and loss income, now we are going into 5 months behind, they did set up a payment plan but it was too high and we could not pay. So They said send information to them like bank statements and hardship letter and they will try to work out options but so far we have not heard anything about that, when we do call we are just continually asked to pay the back payments which we do not have. we don't know what to do now, so we hope for a quick sale. They said they do not do loan modifications but maybe they will with a third party firm i don't know. I am just so tired of trying with this sinking ship. now I am not sure if we can even rent a place with the behind payments showing on our credit. need help for sure.

I originally refinanced with Ameriquest in 2003. My note was originally $946.00. My last payment to this company was $1634.00 this October. They do not offer any payment arrangements. I got several intent to foreclose letters. When I finally got to talk with someone and explained my situation, she told me they didn't understand why I could not pay the $1634.00. I finally was able to get refinance to a fixed rate of 6.5 this November. It was hard but if you can hold on maybe there is an honest person out there who can help you.
