I was notified on 8/25/09 that TBW transferred my loan to Cenlar, I made my payment to TBW on 8/23 (that check I was told was locked up in Lockbox and I stopped payment and issued a new check to Cenlar) I also was in my last month of trial period for my approved loan modification. Getting anybody at Cenlar by phone, mail, fax or email was impossible. Dozens of attempts, not one reply. Cenlar's MISSION STATEMENT: TO PROVIDE INNOVATIVE, HIGH Quality, PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO OUR CUSTOMERS. I have had to hire an Attorney and withhold any further payments to get my attention and respond to where is my loan modification?

You people need to start pointing the finger of blame in the right direction. TBW was a bunch of scamming, lying lowlifes and they got what was coming to them. When I called cenlar about my mortgage, the representative that I spoke with told me that they had ONE WEEK of notice before Freddie Mac transferred the servicing of all current TBW loans to them. This same rep told me that Cenlar had only serviced about 200-220k loans prior to TBW going under...what this means is that Cenlar more than doubled in size with one week's notice. I can imagine that these people are under incredible amounts of stress because of this - they probably didn't have the man or the machine power to handle everything. Do a google search for "Will County Taxes Cenlar" or something to that degree and see what turns up. These people are really trying and it's not fair that you take it out on them.

Our loan was sold to Cenlar by Taylorbean, we have the worst experience ever with a company like Cenlar. You cannot get any information of your mortgage. No mail statement and I was blocked to see it online either. They made our life a nightmare. We Hope to get rid of it ASAP.

CENLAR is great. My mortgage was with TBW who went under. Cenlar now services my loan and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. TBW got what was coming to them. Be patient with Cenlar as they just took on over 250K loans. They will do you right.

Somewhere in one of these comments a helpful young man gave the website that showed the email addresses of all the "big wigs" at cenlar... I Email ALL of them a very nasty email and got a call the next day.... it was either that or the fact that I called my Senator and they contacted the company, too!! I would definitely recommend that to all of you who are having problems... Contact your Senator!! worked for me and now I am refinancing with another company and closing on Monday!! Thank God!!!

Been working with CENLAR trying to modify our loan, but they are just a processing company, not the actual bank. Terrible customer service. 2 hours on hold total, 6 different people, no answers. 2 hang ups. "Produce the NOTE!" They don't have it!

It is impossible to speak with anyone at this company. Their customer service is horrible. They don't like picking up the phone but have no problem cashing your check. Wells Fargo sold my loan to this company and i am very dis satisfied with them.

Same problem Steve. After 4 faxes, 6 phone calls and three confirmations that I waived my escrow account they still took the $$$. Today I told them I am NOT sending them $$ until they get the ducks in a row. I could not get on the website you suggested Steve from Shelton. Perhaps if we all went to our local TV stations we could band together or call Clark Howard or someone who could bring this to light. ENOUGH is enough. Is anyone savvy with any ideas how to make this public?? Forums or print or TV. Julie

starno starno starno starno star by Steve Gray From Shelton, WA on October 14, 2009

After the collapsing of Taylor, Bean and Whitaker. We got a statement in the mail from a new company, called Cenlar, informing us to send them a check for our September payment and requesting optional bank info to take out future monthly payments. We have always had our payment on autopay and so we offered the bank info. What do they do, they cashed our check and then just 1 day later they took another payment for auto pay! What the heck? Then I called them and was placed on hold for 45 mins and said that they deeply apologized for the mistake and they would skip October's auto pay and the next payment would be November 1st. Guess what? They took my payment out for October instead of skipping it as I was told. I went online to Cenlar and now it says online that we are not due until December 1st now. So I was forced to go down to my bank and pay a $30.00 fee to make a stop payment so this out of control outfit will not take out any more money without my permission with any surprises. I can't imagine a family going from paycheck to pay check getting hit like us and all of the bank fees from bouncing checks and negative debits from their card? Today, I looked online I saw where my checked cleared on 9/8 and then they next day on the 9th where the autopay kicked in when it shouldn't have. Although it did the amount should have all went to principal except for a few cents of interest for a day. Nope, $1,046.00 was deducted and only $185.00 went to principal and the rest of it went to interest. I guess in India they have a different numbers system when it comes to interest rates? I emailed feedback to them and it said what time can we call you and expect a call with 48 hours. It is has been a week and the call still hasn't came? Another website that I have been to also had complaints had this pdf file that has a bunch of email addresses of some BIG WIGS of this company. One person said that they did that stating their complaint and apparently got a return call within 2 hours. Here is the PDF File address: http//www.njleague.com/Directory Files/Members/Cenlar.pdf We are going to search for another bank or mortgage company to take over our loan. We pay our own taxes and insurance which is taken out monthly and our taxes semi-annually from our bank account. Now most of the banks we have talked to are willing to do a new refinance loan with a lower %, but we need a $700.00 escrow account to take out for taxes and insurance. This Cenlar Co. doesn't know how to pay taxes or insurance leaving a lot of customers sleepless at night hoping that their house doesn't catch on fire or come in contact with flooding waters. That also doesn't count about the fear of the county coming to take their property from them because of no taxes being paid. I will leave you all with a phone number that some people have blogged that seems to work better for contact: 1-800-223-6527. Here is the page for all payments and contact #'s for insurance, taxes and payoff amounts. https://www.loanadministration.com/loanadministration/cenlar_contact us_FGFHFI.html No promises if you will get a live person that will not hang up on you or truthfully help you. The best that I can do to help the population that is in this same mess that I and everyone else is in. Their is some talk of a Class Action Suit. We shall see if someone with some extra money moves fwd and actually does something? I hope my expressions with this company help some of you like others have helped me. What a joke,,,, I am so tired of messing with this mortgage, only thing is no one else wants to buy mine since it is a freddie mac loan. I am also having problems with my escrow account and hoping my taxes are paid. It makes you want to just foreclose and forget it. I have always paid on time and have never had this much trouble. Another goof up by our wonderful government.

i just got off the phone with Cenlar. It is apparent that they only service the loans. your mortgages that were with TBW were NOT sold to cenlar. TBW wasn't a mortgage company, these loans are backed by freddie mac, or fanny may, not sure which one she said. The loans you had before were the same, except TBW was a front for FB, and could refi for you. TBW was a service company also, but had the ability to refi under their "name", when in fact in was fanny may that was the loan backer. came right from the horses mouht at cenlar when i started questioning them. I want my mortgage with a MORTGAGE COMPANY, no a service company. also they said my mortgage amount was lower, which they said was due to tax lowering, its like $25 and i told her she better be right, or i'll take the hour drive to trenton to talk to someone in person!!!!

I received a letter from the TB&W Bank advising me of the Government. program about refinancing my mortgage. I applied as stated online and submitted my application online. Recently I received a letter from Cenlar FSB that my loan was transferred from TB&W to Cenlar FSB. After a month Cenlar say they does not originate loans . I tried to find servicers, counselors, and another ways for helping me . It is hard to find new mortgage servicers one bank say that they can help a borrower guaranteed by only Fannie Mae on Making Home Affordable Programs. I have not heard anything from mortgage servicers, a list of approved lenders along with phone numbers which I already reached I believe I am eligible for refinance through MHAP Most banks assist a own customer for refinance through MHAP Bank say you should talk your service bank Where is my bank? When Freddie Mac let my loans transfer to Cenlar FSB , you should not let borrowers by TB&W go to difficult situation. I look forward to your response and explanation.

I admit that their way of communicating the TBW switchover was terrible - I thought it was a scam! But after accidentally being disconnected on my first call to them, I got through to a nice woman named Keana who helped me tremendously! I think it's all going to be okay now.

I have to say I was out of the country when the whole situation with TB&W went down and then started trying to do research because my flood and home insurance was due at the end of August. I had an escrow account, but to date they still have not paid my insurance. My flood insurance was going to be cancelled so I had to pay for it again..out of pocket. They say they will reimburse me as soon as I fax them the receipts, but I am not holding my breath. Whenever I do talk to them I just get a response that they are getting to these things, but I cannot get any real answers. It is infuriating and I never had any issues with TB&W. If they could not handle all of these account they should have never taken them on!

CENLAR IS A JOKE, A SCAM, PROBABLY A BUNCH OF PEOPLE SITTING ROUND IN THEIR APARTMENTS THAT ARE TAGGED WITH P.O. BOXES AND FAX NUMBERS! Seems that every department is run from a different state - mortgage payments go to NJ., Tax Payments come from UT., Hazard Bills paid from SC. You send general inquiries to MN. Mid-August I was locked out of my TB&W loan on their website. Sent inquiry - no response. Called - no response. 3 days before mortgage payment due, I get a letter from TB&W stating my loan is being serviced by CENLAR. I quickly stop payment to TB&W and re-direct to CENLAR. I get my account set up online with CENLAR to monitor the activity. Then I notified my Hazard Insurance company as to where to send my current bill - which was due at the end of August. Mid-Sept., Hazard Insurance company calls me up stating that CENLAR declined to pay the bill, and told the insurance company that I am personally responsible. Insurance company changed their records, and are now coming after me. I had insurance company change it back, because it is in my mortgage loan papers that my escrow account, now being held by CENLAR, is responsible for paying the bill. Insurance company is very understanding, and changed the info back at CENLAR, and re-sent bill. Again, CENLAR rejected. I got on the phone with CENLAR, and they gave me a fax number to give to my insurance, to fax the bill again. The number CENLAR gave me though was for their PMI department (I forgot which state that's in). I looked up the Hazard Insurance fax, and my insurance company faxed to that number. Every day I have been calling CENLAR, and every day I get a different response - fax the bill and it will be paid; fax the bill and wait 24-48 hours. Crap hit the fan when CENLAR told me that TB&W told them that I am responsible for the bill, and that I have to wait until Mid-October before CENLAR makes a decision. WHAT DECISIION!! I faxed them my loan paper that states ESCROW PAYS THE HAZARD INSURANCE! I got the name of a manager, and customer service stated that I fax to the manager, and they will pay it 'without review'. That was three days ago! Nothing has changed - I get the same response - I am responsible for the bill! YOU HAVE MY FUNDS!!!! IDIOTS!!! They are all hiding under that 60-day window of getting their system up to date. If someone is charged a late fee, CENLAR will pay it, under the 60-day window. Where's the funds coming from to pay everyone's late fee? To date - they have received my insurance bill 5 TIMES!! If something was to happen to my home that needed insurance comverage, do you think the insurance would settle? Technically, I am without insurance - policy period ended at the end of August! I stated on my last fax to them that I will file a complaint with the BBB (yes, go have a look at their rating - 'F'). Complaint has been filed. Has anything changed? Nope. Yes - I am all for a law suit against CENLAR. I have a contract to pay funds into escrow - contract is not being honored by CENLAR to pay my insurance bill. They have all the info they need to make a decision TODAY! But, they will wait until Mid-October, and make the decision then, along with the other 250,000+ loans as well.

The Taylor Bean Whittaker situation was bad enough, but we did not know who had our mortgage or escrow dollars. We had to call around, but they certainly cashed our checks. Now we are moving our mortgage to our bank and we found out our taxes were not paid. We have been trying since August to have someone at Cenlar help us, to no avail, the worst issue of all was we call customer service and guess where the calls are going to INDIA, that's right INDIA they have an overflow center for calls. Our taxes are still not paid, we do not know the status of our escrow account OUR MONEY. I'm telling everyone please check your accounts. There are no words it is past frustration. We are seeking legal counsel

We received a check from our insurance company and TBW was on the check. We had a massive hail storm and have over $12k in damage to our home (right before TBW went under). I can't cash the check since CENLAR will not respond to me to tell me what to do with the check. I am DISGUSTED with CENLAR and am in the process of trying to get my mortgage moved. I was very happy with TBW, but CENLAR is a joke! They should not have agreed to service TBW loans if they could not handle it.

We too had our mortage transferred from Taylor Bean to Cenlar. Fortunately we have had positive results. A week after receiving the letter from Cenlar, we had our account number, signed up on the internet and our Septeber payment has processed. Now our August payment which was paid to Taylor Bean was never cashed so we are still waiting for that to happen. I must say that Cenlar has been nothing but helpful. Give them a chance. Taylor Bean was the worst, and I mean worst mortage company my husband and I have ever worked with and I mean that sincerely. Realize they acquired, what, 260,000 loans from Taylor, I really thing they are trying to do their best.

We to had our home loan through tbw. Never had a problem with them. We have never had a late payment. This month we never received a bill from TBW, got on the website to find out that they went under and we are now with Cenlar. We have no account number and nothing has been sent to us by wither TBW or Cenlar. Cannot registar on the Cnlar website because we do not have an account number. Have tried for three weeks now to get ahold of someone at Cenlar and I cannot get ahold of anyone! I get either a message or if I call the other number it rings and then sounds as if its being transfered and then busy signal. I am afraid to just mail then the payment and I am even more worried about the escrow account. Will they pay my insurance and taxes on time? Its hard to believe that they will when I cant even get a simple account number. I feel that this is all their errors (TBW and Cenlar)and yet I am the one doing all the work just to try and give them money! As the saying goes time is money! I dont think I should even have to make that payment due to the time I have wasted on this so called company. Class action suit would be great. We are in a position that we cannot refinance as I quit my job to go back to school. Now it looks like our only choice is to sell our house in this market. What a joke. Expecially because we have great credit. Thanks for nothing Cenlar!!!

Like many of you I had sent my September mortgage payment to Taylor, Bean on August 22nd, before I received the letter saying my account would be transferred to CENLAR and the cutoff date for Taylor Bean processing checks was August 12. Well, my check still hasn't been cashed by anyone though an extra payment I sent Taylor, Bean on August 5th was cashed by CENLAR. I didn't get any reply from CENLAR to a letter I sent them on August 25th. I started emailing them on Friday Sept. 18th so it's too early to know if they're going to answer that. I'm just sending my October payment and apparently won't owe any additional fees on the Sedptember check if it doesn't show up and I have to send a replacement check because of ther RESPA law. But this is really a Keystone Kops occurrence! I almost expect indictments of the Taylor, Bean people. It sounds like ENRON. They had a lucrative business and blew it. Good luck to you all. I have been attempting to conact CENLAR for 3 weeks now. I spoke with a Therese who appeared very helpful, an indicated that she would send all of my info to the modification dept and I should hear in a few days. Its been a week now. Just when I thought Taylor Bean was bad, in comes Cenlar. As others have noted, they've promised all sorts of things such as vouchers, grace periods, and letters for customers to sign to allow continuation of autobilling but none of the promises have been kept. I'm still getting a massive auto charged T&I "escrow" charge on my account since TB&W (who did it twice within 6 months and I've always been current) and have no way to stop it. It's also frustrating to know that you're dialing into some massive Indian call center (listen carefully to the background) with no real ability to get your problems fixed. It adds insult to injury. This was of course, before things went downhill from there. I got used to calling in 50 times to get a ring followed by hours of waiting but as of today, all the lines seem to go into a black hole. When you get through and punch in your account number, all you get is silence followed by a disconnect. Great. Time for a stop payment and legal action.

We too have been struck with this TBW mess. Still haven't cashed Aug. payment, can't get a hold of anyone. When you call the number 1-888-225-2164 it just goes to a busy signal, never even rings. Can't get a hold of anyone. I'm seriously worried how this is going to affect our loan. We need to refinance with someone else. It's obvious we are not in any better of a situation with this company. They need to be reported to the better business bureau. Our loans need to be placed with a company that can service us properly. I'm truely scared about what is going to happen. We have worked to hard to get our home, to loose it because of this stupid company's mistakes. Someone needs to take charge of this situation before it spirals even further out of control.

My bank has now charged me over $325 in overdraft fees, and I can't get anyone from Cenlar to answer the phones. In addition, their "Contact Us" section of their website was down. Luckily, I was able to find their phone number via this site. However, I was on hold for over 15 minutes the first time I called and over 18 minutes the second time prior to just hanging up!! I just received a phone call from my bank telling me that Cenlar has taken out two payments this month, which has put me in NSF status. I have tried to call and get the problem fixed but I can't understand a word the representative was talking about. I tried to tell her I did not authorize a second payment, her reply was when you made your payment by phone it gave Cenlar the authorization to take payments out of your checking account. When I explained to her I made my payment this month she basically said oh well too bad for you. My only recourse at this point to close my checking account and open a new one so they don't have access to my funds. I will be looking for another mortgage company this week....I'm sure someone will appreciate my $200,000 loan. I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason.

My loan got transferred from TBW to CENLAR. I did get hold of someone there by using the number 800-223-6527. Was on hold for about 10-15 minutes. But someone did answer. They said that they received some 230,000 mortgages from TBW so everyone is calling them and they are just swamped. While i was on hold, i registered on their website (afraid of providing the info) but once i registerd, i saw my information there and i verified that everything was correct. While i was doing this, i got through to a very helpful lady , Liz, and she told me its a mad house there now. She also said there will be no late payment fee, credit reporting if you are late in paying mortgage for Aug and Sept because of TBW mess. I read this message board and was angry but after talking to them i realized that there is nothing they can do. All i have to say is put stop payment on any checks that are not cashed by TBW and resend them to CENLAR. Be patient and hang in there. Hope it helps.

Friday I just spent 1 hr on the phone with CENLAR because TBW transferred our mortgage loan and all I wanted to know was if I had to pay September's payment. I talked to four different people in four different departments. They finally sent me back to the first department I talked to and they hung up on me. If this is how they are going to treat people who have simple questions, then I don't know if I want to do business with them. I would also like to be able to speak to someone who wasn't foreign.

TBW had begun the process of lowering my interest rate based on Obama's plan for Freddie Mac loans...I qualified and was awaiting the information to switch and lower my payments. After 8 weeks of not hearing anything I began calling...and like the rest of TBW discarded customers got no reply...went to their web site and learned about the CENLAR transfer. The next day I received a letter from CENLAR and Sept payment was made to them and just cleared my bank last night. I just called CENLAR and after a 10 min waiting period I did get through and was transferred to a knowledgeable gentleman who explained some things to me TBW had neglected to mention. CENLAR is mailing out some critical paperwork that cannot be done over the internet and/or phone. They were quite helpful. They didn't ask for TBW to go out of bus. Like another poster said...be patient w/ them and I think they will help to best of their ability.

Once I got the correct number from the web-site I talked to a very helpful and courteous man who said that the August automatic payment that TB failed to take will be posted to my bank account tonight 8/21/09. No need to write a check. Also under the Fair Credit Law no negative reporting can be made to credit agencies for 60 days after they purchase a mortgage. We were within four days of signing loan modification papers when TB went under. (Guess I should be glad they didn't get a chance to mess that up). Cenlar's service rep said they would honor loan modification agreements that TB had in process, BUT they were having trouble getting the documentation from TB (Surprised?). He estimated that it would be 7 - 10 days before they knew what they had. So, if you have an automatic payment, sit tight and don't write a check also. If you were in loan modification, hold your breath. It could be a couple of weeks before you know if your TB documentation made it to Cenlar. The customer service rep also said that if for some reason the documentation gets lost, they have their own loan modification process that you can go through. Of course that means that you will have to dig out all that paperwork that you sent to TB. I'm going to go have a beer.

I am planning on contacting all local news stations as soon as I am home from work today and see if this would be worth reporting. Very unprofessional from both companies to not even at least have a message on their lines about this. I had already scheduled payment to TB&W, had to stop payment on the check (for which i'll get charged for by my bank i'm sure). Unable to reach anyone at TBW and unable to reach anyone at many of the provided numbers for Cenlar but 800-223-6527 was a number that actually worked to contact Cenlar. The rep. was helpful, stating that we could stop payment on our payment sent to TBW and send a new payment to Cenlar (which we did) or that Cenlar would be going through the checks sent to TBW before customers were notified of the switch and applying the payments to the new Cenlar accounts

I received my letter today. Never have had any dealings with Cenlar, but I find this is really scary! With all the stuff that has been going on with mortgage companies, how do we know that Cenlar won't call in everyone's loan as one of Obama's behind the scenes socialist tricks? Look what happened with the "Cash for Clunkers" (ask the car dealers who are being ripped off and haven't received their payments. Is this another scheme by Obama to make more auto dealers go out of business?) and the Cap and Trade. Folks, this is very scary! The best thing to do, if you can do it, is to refinance as soon as possible with a local company. This is what I am going to do. This transfering of my loan is like a shot in the dark - just out of nowhere, no notification from TBW! Doesn't this raise questions about what the govt. maybe trying to do with some of us? Yep, this is really suspicious. This has never happened to us and we have owned and still own several pieces of property in Ky and Tn. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T LET DOWN YOUR GUARD, SOMETHING IS UP!

Like a lot of you, I received a letter from Cenlar, on Aug. 24th 2009, stating that my loan with TBW had been transferred to them and that all payments made after Aug. 12th were to made to Cenlar. First, I stopped payment on the check which I had just sent to TBW. Then I called TBW. I had to wait on hold for about 30 minutes to talk to someone(as usual). I told the woman about the letter I had just received from Cenlar. The woman I spoke to told me I needed to resubmit my payment to them (TBW), and not Cenlar. After that, I called Cenlar (which I was on hold for another 30 min.). I explained the situation. The woman I spoke to there told me to send my payment to them (Cenlar). Then the woman told me that there's a 60-day grace period for making payments, which means there won't be any negative reports during that time period. As of right now, neither company has received my mortgage payment for the month of August. I guess I won't worry about this for at least a few days. At least I know where my mortgage payment is, and that is IN MY HANDS. Don't give up trying to get through to them. Cenlar gave us a # to call and of course it doesn't work....but they will be happy to take our payment. Someone has to do something about this I guess we need to be contacting our attorneys. This is crazy

We were a mortgage broker for TBW. We have several customers contacating us. Only 2 customers so far have received letters. Other customers are contacting us to help them find out about their mortgage. If you call the 800 number listed above and hold on the line you will be taken to the automated system where you can put in your last 5 digits of your SS# and your zip code and find out if your loan is with Cenlar. Then you have other options such as make payment, mailing addresses, fax numbers, etc. If you press 0 for customer service you will get a busy signal. This may be because they are on EST and we are CST. I will try again after 11:00 CST to contact someone at Cenlar. This is also very frustrating for brokers who are trying to help their customers.

starno starno starno starno star by Thought Cenlar would be easier to get ahold of From Elkins, AR on August 26, 2009

Like many others, my loan was transferred from Taylor Bean Whitaker to Cenlar. At first I was excited because any attempts at getting a hold of TBW via telephone was a good hour to an hour and a half wait. It's worse with Cenlar. Here are the 5 toll numbers that I have for them: 1-800-223-6527, 1-866-430-9689, 1-866-305-6949, 1-877-680-5583, 1-877-309-6308. I was also able to track down the 1-609-883-3900 number and actually got a live person HOWEVER she won't help me. She says I have to call the 1-866-305-6949 number which of course is busy. She won't help me at all.... CENLAR! IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE LOAD, DON'T TAKE IT ON!!! I was sent to Cenlar because I was a good account! TBW sent all current loans to Cenlar....well thanks so much for the transfer to yet ANOTHER crappy mortgage company with zero customer service skills! I want to keep my loan in good standing but can't find anyone to help me out..... it's a lose/lose and I'm about to take my loan in perfect standing to another bank! This whole situation sucks!

Just learned our mortgage was sold by TBW to CENLAR- and- like a lot of the others I see here, we were in the loan modification process. No one is picking up the phone at CENLAR- looks like it is time to hire an attorney!

I have my payment automatically paid from my Bank to TBW and it cleared for August, but Cenlar said I still owe for August on statement I received. I called number on letter I received today and it is not working. Looked up a 609 number on web site and the woman yelled at me for calling and told me to call toll-free. When I finally called back on 609 and was transferred to customer service, she was rude and told me too bad, I would need to make an August payment. This is a vacation home we own with family and while my husband and his sister are on the loan, I am on the deed as well as my brother in law. I am authorized at TBW to handle transactions, but I could not get any info from Cenlar and TBW kept me on hold for over 20 minutes and no response. I have no idea where my August payment is at, can not afford to make an additional payment and am frustrated that I contacted TBW on August 13 because online was not working and just received a response today by email and then the letter arrived from Cenlar dated August 18. Today is August 25. FRUSTRATED!

I just got the letter from CENLAR saying they will be servicing our TBW loan. I called the number and of course like the rest of you got a busy signal. I called the main number 609-883-3900 and they transferred me to customer service. Pam was very nice but had no clue what to tell me other than pay them from this date forward. We started our loan mod 10 weeks ago with TBW and 99% of those transferred to anyone will have to START OVER! Cenlar supervisor got on the phone and advised the only thing they cold do was send us a modification packet to start the process over with Cenlar and that it should take 60-90 days. They use USPS (add 2 weeks to the 60-90 days)just like any other government entity. Why its not electronic who knows but that is another example of our government not being prepared to handle a crisis. RIDICULOUS!!

Called them after receiving the letter about them service TBW loans - could not get through on the phone - when I called the number someone put in above I was told to call the 1-866-305 number, they were not helpful and somehow my payment went from 905 to over $2300 per month. I don't even bring home that much.

Our loan was transferred to CENLAR from TBW. I was alerted by our homeowners insurance company because our premium was past due. I called (609) 883-3900 and was transferred to customer service. The representative was friendly and helpful. I was able to get our new loan number and access my information online. Insurance and tax information is still being uploaded but will be paid by CENLAR. I was able to get an extension on insurance policy to cover delay in payment. I am cautiously optimistic, but will continue to closely monitor my account.

I'm not sure if any of you know this but I am in the mortgage business and there is a law called RESPA (real estate settlement procedures act) in which the government doesn't allow any negative credit reporting on loans that are transferring from 1 lender to another for 60 days. You also will not incur any late charges.

starstarstarstarstar by Bev From Gallatin, TN on August 25, 2009

Okay everyone- Cenlar is only getting TBW conventional loans that were current. The 800 # is not working today but the 609-883-3900 is. I just spoke to them & they were helpful. The problem they have is that they don't yet have everything loaded in their system & TBW transferred thousands of loans to them. They say they will have everything loaded by the 1st. No late fees or credit bureau hits are allowed per the fair credit act until 60 days after transfer date. Also one final note- if your homeowners was due during this transition (as mine is) you may have to pay it & get re-imbursed. Mine is due on 8/31- TBW did not pay & Cenlar can't pay till after the 1st. Also be aware of this possibility- I tried to pay TBW on-line on 8/9/09- got confirmation from TBW but money never came out of account. I stopped payment on that draft but Cenlar thinks I am due for my Sept. payment. I know that I owe Aug. & I'm sure they will find out too- but keep in mind they may have some posting errors we need to watch for.

This is completely ridiculous! They took out over $600 out of my escrow to pay PMI/MIP? I recently applied through TBW for a refinance under the new Homeowner Stability Act. My application was submitted 8/3/09 and I received a letter yesterday (August 24 but dated August 18) that TBW sold my mortgage to Cenlar. I tried calling the 866 number provided and also called an 800 number I found on the website but nobody answered either one. The 866 number has a recording that they are not able to process my call at this time due to unforeseen circumstances. I even tried to call TBW about it, but was on hold for 20 minutes and then got disconnected.

According to the letter our mortgage was sold on August 12 although the letter sent to us was dated the 18th, & today is the 24th. I will attempt to call Cenlar tomorrow. In my letter they grace a web address to pay online, I went to the web address and it is non existent. So far not good!

starstarstarno starno star by Mark From Valmeyer, IL on August 24, 2009

TBW sold my mortgage to Cenlar. The phone number given to TBW customers is just a recording that says they can't help right now. The other 800 number has a prompt for TBW customers, but it's just a busy signal. I've sold my house and my title company needs the payoff amount by 8/27 so I can close on the 28th. I hope this Cenlar can get that to them in time.

Cenlar has no clue what they are doing. We could see that we would be in financial trouble in the next 6 months and started a loan Mod process with them. I told them that we were trying to be up front and avoid issues. Well after 5 months we were right where we predicted and can't make our payments now and they are non responsive to the multitude of phone calls and paper work we have submitted to them to modify our loan. At this point we are going to let them have the house back as they left us no choice and now messed up our credit in the process. You try to do the right thing and they could really care less.

Wow...as I read through these comments, I'm reminded of my own issues with Cenlar. I too was with 1st Palm originally and my paper was sold to Cenlar. After a divorce, triedto work something out with them for 8 months whcih entailed sending paperwork time after time, returning dozens of calls, and waiting on hold for an immeasurable numbers of hours as well. All to never be responded to and eventually be placed into foreclosure. Even my realtor cannot get anywhere with them and she has had several opportunities to sell the home in question, but cannot do so without their cooperation. I feel my only option will be to sue them and take them to court. Who knows, maybe I'll win a suit large enough to restore my losses and credit rating...anyone want to join me??

starno starno starno starno star by Anonymous From Cochran, GA on November 25, 2007

Impossible to get info from except by mail, and then on receipt, find that all info is not included. Phone bank operators cannot answer anything other than a basic question. Once they take your loan servicing, you are totally unable to access info about original loan. Guess it's designed to be that way. The frustration is beyond description!
