Aames was about to go bankrupt in 2006. They were bought by Accredited Home Loans/Home Funds Direct in late 2006. In 2008, Accredited closed Home Funds Direct, and ceased doing business. In late 2008, Accredited was purchased by Lone Star, some kind of hedge fund. They are currently in Bankruptcy, so your claim would likely not be able to be paid...take comfort in the fact that all parties involved no longer exist

LISA in WEST BEND, WI. I have the same problem!! AAmes lost their license in 10/2006 in WI,!! Call the Atty.General in Madison-they shut them down and with good reason!!AAMES, DEUTCH BANK & ACCREDITED HOME LENDERS are ALL ONLY reincarnations of the same Company or VULTRES!! They had the nerve to file a LIEN on my home while I was going thru foreclosure! They raised my rate 2 x's in 2mos which is illegal in WI,(pymt went from $568 to $1260 a mo.just before they were shut down!! Now Litton (Servicer)came in and took over!! A big collection Agenccy!! I plan to sue all of them under every name I can get and I have not only my Judge behind me, but many people they screwed over!!They are BOTH the #1 AND #2 companies that are responsible for our crisis today!!(WSJ 4/17) Check out the following website!!Poorly named-GOOD article!! btw 5 stars in Florida-dnd did my appraisal for $500-how did you swing that one-from FL?? http://blownmortgage.com/

Aames not only botched my refi...they pulled my credit twice in the two years following without ever asking me squat!?

by Me From Indianapolis, IN on March 05, 2009
Aames was my first home loan and they ruined my credit by withholding checks and charging horrible late fees. Not only that they would say they did not receive the checks and then put us in foreclosure. Not just once but twice. NEVER did we receive anything saying we we in foreclosure. This cost me at least 15k. Ruined my credit to boot. When I talked to them on the phone they were wonderful. "We dont know why we haven't received a payment but its here. Not sure why it hasn't posted yet. " The second time we went into foreclosure I got a call from Dave , telling us we were losers and couldnt pay our mortgage and that my lazy a** husband should pay the bills. I wasn't married to this guy lol. So to get out of foreclosure (which they continued to give me a screw around for 4 weeks.) I finally got to talk to someone. She was the most rude person I have ever encountered. Told me we had a habit of not paying and when I explained that "your company is withholding my checks" She said I was a liar. Then told me it was going to cost 5k to get out. Ok , so I asked for a letter from a lawyer. After we paid the 5k we received a letter from the lawyer. 2 MONTHS later with silly fees that he never did. They are the most horrible company ever. DO no do business with them EVER. I moved out of the house in 2004. & months later the house burned to the ground. (We used remaxx and the realitor said we should use this guy for the inspector and for aames home loan.) The inspector said the house was in great shape. First big rain , flooding in the sunporch, gas leak from stove within a few days, bathroom area had to be redone , (water heater had leaked and ruined the floor) Tub was not connected to the drain (nasty stuff going on when you are told its ok) hallway had to be replaced, waterheater room had to be replaced, pump replaced, water filter replaced, and the smells of an electrical fire for for 5 years. Until finally the house burned down in 2005. I learned my lesson. I wish someone would take down aames. And thanks for the memories.

Aames Home Loans was the first company I worked for in my Mortgage Professional Career. I was in the top 20 in the nation my 2nd month of employment. However, my ethics did not coincide with those of Aames. I am not a loan shark and they made me feel like one charging junk fees and not providing clients with what I had initially proposed. It was horrible, but at that time I did not know any better as it was my first job in the mortgage business. I look back now and think how could that company have been in business for 50 years buring the American People.

my 40 year loan was sold to countrywide as a to year loan.I payed the 30 year after I could not get in touch with the people at aames. I could afford the 30 year at the time and I realy didn't understand my right.after sometime and funds getting low .i tryed to find out why and how they could do that. countrywide looked into it and said it was fruad.now they say they bought a 30 year so I have to pay the 30 year. most of the papperwork say 40.they have one papper that has 30 year.that same papper that say 40. not fair to me. the frist loan they tried to get me to sign was an ajustable I told her from the start I didn't do them.so when the notary came he tried to rush me but I kept saying let me see the payment pappers I didn't sign the notary was mad.she call and said sorryand sent the new loan .i told her if the payments came out to more then 1700 I didn't want the loan.so when the papper came it was 40 years payment at 1676 being impound I was happy with that.

Aames Financial is affiliated and in cahoots with other bogus companies (Ocwen Federal Bank, Deutsche Bank National Trust Co.), I recently received a tax assessment for a home in my name that I did not purchase. No one will give any explanation about the matter, just the run-around. I discourage anyone who plans on dealing with this company not to do so. I'm so confused!!!!

COMPANIES LIKE AAMES AND AMERIQUEST, AND LENDINGTREE ARE CRAP! AAMES WORKED DIRECTLY WITH LENDINGTREE AND CONSPIRED TO PLACE CUSTOMERS IN HIGH FEE LOANS. FOR SOME REASON THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWED IT. AAMES, AMERIQUEST, LENDINGTREE AND HOMELOANCENTER ETC. ALL CONSPIRED TO PLACE CUSTOMERS IN HIGHFEE LOANS. BASED ON THE MORTGAGE FALLOUT, YOU CAN SEE HOW UNINFORMED MOST PEOPLE ARE TO THE MORTGAGE LOANS BUSINESS, AND YOU CAN SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY PREDATORY LENDERS BASED ON THE NUMBER OF SUBPRIME DELINQUINCIES. ALL THESE COMPANIES SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND THE CEO'S THROWN IN JAIL. IT'S FUNNY HOW THE "CORPORATE" LOGO SHIELDS THE EXECUTIVES FROM PROSECUTION FOR THEIR UNSCRUPULOUS MISDEEDS & BUSINESS PRACTICES. BASED ON MY WORKING FOR AAMES THEY WERE IN THE BUSINESS OF SHAFTING PEOPLE FOR AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY COULD GET, AND WHEN THE HEATS ON THEY CLOSE UP SHOP WITH THEIR MILLIONS IN THE BANK AND SKIP TOWN. THATS WHY I'M VOTING FOR OBAMA HE IS A CANDIDATE FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT JUST A CAREER POLITICIAN LIKE CLINTON & ROMNEY.

I worked for this company over 6 years. This company was unfair to it's minority employee's, unfair to it's customer's, and cheated millions out of fair practices. Whatever link is popping up, don't do business with anyone associated with AAMES HOME LOAN, AAMES FINANCIAL, OR AAMES CORPORATE. IT'S ALL BULLCRAP. THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY CASHED IN HIS STOCK AND LEFT US ALL HANGING WITHOUT JOBS. F*&% AAMES AND ACCREDITED HOME LENDERS.

by clauda From Lancaster, CA on October 31, 2007
why, you do this?? do not try to confuse people you are the same company, same numbers and same everything, you will pay for everybody that believe in you, i had trusted this company before, and that was a bad mistake, hope someone help us find somebody that really cares, why are you trying to do??

by Anonymous From Altoona, PA on October 21, 2007
AAmes never sent payment books, never returned phone calls. At foreclosure was the only point of contact and still no response even though numerous certified letters were sent to AAmes by me. The return cards were never received back to me. This was done for 1 year till finally they want to foreclose. We used AAmes when we refinanced in 05, what a mistake that was. This company should be investigated for fraud and deceptive business practices. DO NOT USE THIS LENDER it also reports mortgage under various names so you really do not know who has the loan. AAmes is not one of the reporting entities on the credit report. INVESTIGATE THIS COMPANY

When I worked there we ALL PRIDED ourselves in a job well done for the CUSTOMERS and kept our "bragging board" in eye distance. We were rewarded with sticky stars on that boards, d acknowledgment of good deeds in writing and public meetings, along with bonuses made a fabulous time at work as a TEAM. This was NATIONWIDE, We worked hard for our customers knowing they were more than just a file! We ALL went beyond the call of duty and helped each other carry the load for the sake of the customers. I worked daily with fees and we had no predatory lending. P.S. ToA na Montanez From Philadelphia - It is the title company who is responsible for removing liens. That is what title INSURANCE policies are for.....to insure the Lender, as well as the Customer, GOOD LUCK....

I kept hearing about AAmes home loan as the worst to deal with. I find that out for myself when I tried to make arrangements all I got was a smerk remark. You need to sell your house was the only suggestion I got from AAmes customer service. Awful set of people to deal with, non-professional..

by Anonymous From Los Angeles, CA on August 14, 2007
I worked for AAmes Home Loans and yes, they ripped off most of their customers by force placing insurance at extremely high fees and pocketing some of that money. They are a terrible company and should be put out of business.

I lost my home when i became disabled and my thieving disability Insurance co. Reliance cut off my claim payments. I had a mortgage, so I thought with Countrywide. When I fell behind Countrywide said send us $2200 and we will put you into our FULL SPECTRUM PROGRAM. I sent the money I borrowed from my Father in law. I tried to contact them a few weeks later and no one knew about any Full Spectrum. I received foreclosure papers from the Sheriff's office. It was Aames that now had my mortgage and they tossed us out into the street. I owed but $72K and they sold my house for $88K made $15,000. I could not even find a lawyer that was willing to look into it. I was living in the State of Lousy anna. Another Government for the Rich State. Anyone ever heard of Full Spectrum offered to customers by Countrywide??
