My mortgage was also sold to them a few years ago and I've had nothing but trouble with them since. Two years in a row they failed to send the insurance payment from my escrow account in time. The first year, my insurance company called me and after a couple weeks of hassle, we finally got them the payment. The second year, unfortunately, my insurance company had a software upgrade that caused my old phone number to reappear as the main contact number so I didn't find out until months later that they had not paid it and ended up canceling it and Everhome (their mortgage division), changed me to a premium rate insurance that was double what I was paying before. This was very bad timing since I had a pay decrease thanks to the lovely economic hardships that have been going around. I got the insurance straightened out but they refused to adjust my month payment to reflect the lower rate. I ended up not paying them for several months until they finally fixed it and not two weeks later, I get a foreclosure notice. They refused to admit that it was their error that caused the problem. At the time I wish I could say that i saved that money from when i wasn't paying them but I was dealing with several major family emergencies and a second pay decrease. I ended up filing bankruptcy to try to save my house. I paid them on time for nearly a year but with my tight budget I had nothing saved for emergencies. Unfortunately, I had an abcessed tooth and wasn't able to pay a month on time. Because of that they are taking action to remove the bankruptcy protection. At this point, since they have consistently been jerks, I have decided to let my house foreclose. I hate not being able to pay bills on time and would normally feel horrid about doing this but I'm mad enough at them that it's drastically reduced any bad feelings I may have about foreclosing. I'll miss my house but I'll find somewhere else and hope I never, ever have to deal with Everhome/Everbank again.

Everbank has done everything they can to destroy me. They foreclosed and then pursued me until I had to file bankruptcy. It is a den of thieves. I made my payments faithfully for 9 years and got into trouble when the economy crashed. I begged for help and they "hammered me!" I believe in you reap what you sow. They will pay dearly for this.

I am NEVER late on payment, in fact, I typically pay 15 days in advance. I have been served with two late notices!!! When I can refinance, I will do so. Terrible company - I would be fired from my job if my work ethic was like theirs.

The absolute worst customer service---they should be driven out of business

The APY rate they advertise is variable not a 1 year rate, it can go down

I've been a checking account customer for 6 years. I've been pleasantly surprised at how they have picked up immediately when i call them and are helpful and polite. My experiences have been excellent and not at all like the negative reviewers here.

THese guys have a huge amount of paperwork you have to fill out just to buy a CD AFTER they already have all of your paperwork for opening the original account. Once they know who I am why do I have to keep telling them just to buy a CD. Also it takes a week to transfer money in and out. Where is my money? My credit union and my banks only take 2 days TOPS to credit my account for electronic transfer. I am sure everbank is making money during the time it is all being processed. Horrible dumb business model. I did find them to be polite though.

This company is one of the worst to deal with. I have a mortage with them...and just closed my checking acount. All but a few of the customer service reps. have been so very rudy to me. Trying to talk to the credit department is like being accused of a crime...sitting in a holding tank...given the 3rd degree...assuming I am guilty of a crime..when all I had was a few questions regarding my loan. I never chose them..and never would after my experiences with this company...the only reason I have to deal with them..is because my loan was sold to them. Please read all the negative reports on this company and never, ever deal with them. Don't walk away...run away from this nasty, harsh, mean comany..and know that it is run by people without hearts and souls.

I closed my account and have not yet received a check for the balance. The check was claimed to have been sent, however, they would not provide proof or details of when it was sent or of the check #. They would not give this info to me in writing, only verbally stated that it was sent. I did receive the last statement showing my account was closed and the $ was withdrawn, go figure. I placed numerous calls whereby many of the customer reps were sarcastic or nasty when I questioned them. I spoke with the VP who also became angry with me for questioning the validity and integrity of the bank. I was required to send a notarized document stating I did not receive nor cash the check they supposedly sent to me. Months have passed and I called to follow up as I have still not received the check. Now they claim they did not receive my notarized documents and I would have to complete and notarize them all over again. I said I would do that, but that I would also be filing a formal complaint with the state division of banking, and the rep hung up on me. A few minutes later I received a call stating they did have my docs after all and would be sending me a check immediately.
