Christians Don’t Experience Foreclosures!

Christians Don’t Experience Foreclosures!
Have you ever heard of anything so foolish? The devil is always busy trying to rob us of the God-given joy that is ours for the taking. The world joins ranks and scoffs that so-called Christians should have perfect children, clean homes, and full bank accounts. They just don’t understand joy the way Christ taught. Our joy is not dependent on our perfection and circumstances but on Christ’s grace.
Foreclosure is an equal-opportunity employer…it strikes every class and every culture. It strikes good Christian people who are trying to flesh out their faith. Just like addictions or moral errors, financial problems are not God’s will but they are expected in a fallen world. They are consequences of a sinful world. They exist because we’re not perfect.
Money might not have been in the Garden of Eden, but it’s been around for nearly as long. Gold and silver were the first forms of money and have had considerable value in all cultures for over 5000 years. The King James Bible mentions gold 417 times, silver 320 times and money (“keceph”) is mentioned 140 times. Gold and silver are mentioned all through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Sixteen of the 40 parables told by Jesus refer to money!
God knew we’d struggle with riches. He knew excesses in money would make us proud and unfit for His Kingdom. God knew poverty would make us tempted to steal and dishonor His name (Proverbs 30 8-9).
He knew we’d struggle with pride and gossip and hate. God warned us against immorality and greed. God knew we’d need a Savior.
Your misfortune with foreclosure is unfortunate and stressful but our God is forgiving and resourceful. You’ve been given a life-saving advanced warning. If you smelled smoke in your home, you’d call 9-1-1 and get out. Likewise, you’ve experienced a financial set-back. Heed the advice of the Savior: Stop, Drop and Pray.
You’re now on your way to financial safety! Don’t let smoke cloud your judgment or ruin your view of your future.
