How do I respond to my 20 day letter?
I have just been served a summons that I have to respond to within 20 days with a written answer. I don't know what I am suppose to do. I would like to stay in the house longer, but I simply cannot afford the payments. Bank of America is not helping me avoid foreclosure. I need a loan modification.

How do you write a hardship letter?
We have received the notice of foreclosure but have 20 days to respond. Every time I have tried working something out they want me to pay more per month than I am now and I have trouble making the payments now.

There is no equity in my home, what can be done to stop foreclosure?
I am trying to save my home of 15 years. My ex just walked away. There is no equity. The loan is 8 months overdue. The loan is in my ex's name, but my name is on the deed. Can anything at ALL be done?

What is the foreclosure process... how long do I have before they take my home?
Just got notice today, I though we had been paying but my wife had not and I am not sure where we are at. Not sure what to do we have never had this happen before.

Countrywide says that they have no programs to help us get cought up on our loan, can that be true?
We had huge debt ($30,000) from when my wife was layed off from her job 8 years ago and began working with a credit counselor to make payments on that debt (now down to under $6000)...

We got served with Foreclosure papers, Bankruptcy did not help
We just got served today by a server. My bankruptcy attorney in Madison said it is discharged in Ch 7 after I left the ch 13 relief of stay and never reaffirmed the debt. How long can we stay? I'd like to keep the house if I could get a fresh start with affordable payment.
I purchased a condemned property only to have it foreclosed
Purchased this property 25 years ago as a condemned property. Now it is worth $180K but I became disabled and cannot afford the mortgage. I am trying to sell it but no takers and would like to save my equity at least. I am months in arrears, a year almost and very concerned of course.

What is the redemption I keep hearing about
I believe was sold @ sheriff's sale on 2/2/09. No one will tell me anything. PHH refuses to talk to me. Thought I had a deal with them until 3 days before the sale. Do I have a redemption period? How long?

Hope Now should be called No Hope Now...
After 5 letters, at least 6 calls, and always being put on hold, I finally got a hold of somebody from Citi Residential Lending/AMC. Also, through a letter from them, and HopeNow. We were treated very unfair, and cheated out of a second chance to homeownership.

Should I look into a Deed-in-Lieu
We have had our house for sale for 1 year now and have had not activity at all on it. We were going to do a short sale with the mortgage lender, but maybe the DIL would suite us better. Insted of just lowering the price over and over
