Are you a broad-brush painter?

We're just finishing up the painting on the house. It's more comical than anything. I have children all asking to "help" and I'm somewhere between, "Absolutely not!" and "Why not...I can always paint over it."

I gave the boys a roller and a 3-inch brush and said, "Be careful".

Teacher Jim

Today we attended the funeral of my 9-year old boys' teacher at church. It's hard to explain to your small child why God takes a 38-year old man to heaven, leaving behind his wife and daughter as well as many friends and family. Jim fought a brief but honorable battle with leukemia.

The other night one of my kiddos asked me to join him in he lawn chair for a little star-gazing. He had me in the palm of his hand. He had remembered back to last summer when we sat outside each night looking for constellations and satellites passing by.

It's been quite a week in our church family. In one day, a family received the shock that their baby was coming three weeks early. She arrived safe and sound and they're blessed to have this precious five-pound bundle of health in their home tonight.

Kittens Anyone?

Our sweet little cat had her second litter of kittens. It was a much anticipated birth and wouldn't you know she went into labor just as we had to leave for church. It was fun to come home and find 4 little fuzz-balls that came into the world completely without any of my doing.
