Egypt, Obama and HAMP Program

February 14, 2011

After two years of the Obama Administrations effort to Stop Preventable Foreclosures the Country is in worst shape now than it was in 2008 when the crisis started. We all know the damage the governments effort, HAMP, has caused families, community, cities and the economy overall.

We all know where the problem lies; the servicing industry, and their unwillingness and inability to implement what is a good program. HAMP has failed not because of the program design but because of the servicing industry’s greed.

I our opinion we have only one option left to save millions of families from losing their homes - and real estate values continual decline which will impacts every American homeowner and the economy for years to come.

The main problems with the servicer are improper underwriting according HAMP guidelines and lost document resulting in long delays and denial of application. We know there are other problems but this effort, which will be referred to going forward as “This Egyptian Thing” or “TET”, will be an attempt to change what we can change. “TET” main objective will be to take the sole underwriting authority out of the hands of the servicer when possible. Neutral Third Parties are needed to make sure every American is being given a fair hearing on a case by case basis. The servicing industry will change once they know they no longer have a monopoly on the underwriting process and that professional underwriters are checking on their work product.
“This Egyptian Thing” when referencing this effort - has been chosen for a number of reason; we just witness a large group of people organize quickly, offering a single message for change. Americans should stand-up and take notice; we have just seen in Egypt – one hundred thousand people, organized with social networking, and had the power to bring a government down in 17 days. It is not our intent to bring down our government but to get them to listen and save our Country’s economy and the millions of hard working Americans homes when possible.

Our goal would be to have at least 500 people to start but 1,000 would be better. Based on the millions of Americans in this fight currently along with the tens of millions of American Homeowners who are directly affected by the foreclosure crisis, we should be able to gather enough support to have a positive impact

This terrible situation has gone on too long. Many American families have lost their homes to foreclosure or are in the process of doing so – in many cases this does not have to happen. The Obama Administration and Congress has not done all they can to save families and real estate values in our country. We can no longer sit idly by and watch this happen to good people. This mess is also hurting every homeowner in America and the media ignores the situation. Two years is long enough – we must take some kind of action now. It is time to Walk Like The Egyptians. I hope you agree and will join the effort – We Need Change Now!!!

When I read the title of your article, I did not know what to expect. However, I get it now. If the Egyptians can get organized and negotitiate as a group, why not the Americans who are in trouble with their mortgages? Interesting hypothesis.

I'm in! Steven I want to help Americans stand up and demand that their voices be heard. strength in numbers is the only chance at change. It is abundantly clear that taking on the banks on an individual level allows these institutions to just sweep us under the rug. We need to demand that the media and government wake up and address these illegal practices exercised daily by the banks. For instance, if all home owners who have a loan through B of A and have been denied for a loan mod due to blatant fraudulent or ill practices were to come together in a massive national protest (or regional). All media outlets should be informed and as many congressman from all the home owners districts. It's a matter of getting the snowball rolling. You know the banks are just praying that no one has the power or stamina to pull this off. They know if this day ever comes, it's lights out for them. What state of affairs will this country be in if we sit by and allow this obscene behavior to continue for another ten years? Not only will they have complete control over homeowners and their homes but also their livihood as a whole. Who gives the banks the right to destroy someone's credit because this suits their position for financial gain?! They will sell anyone down the river using any illegal means nescassary if it will result in lining their pockets. There is endless testimony from former employees of these institutions that claim they were told to lie, mislead, place on hold indefinitely, home owners seeking loan modifications. This is disgusting behavior and it's time those responsible for such actions be held accountable. It's becoming increasing difficult to say "I'm proud to be an American" when every time I turn around it's my fellow countryman causing all this unnecessary pain and suffering. Let's not forget the other set of Americans in a position of authority who just sit by and allow it happen. It's even harder to be proud when I consider all the Americans who have and will continue to roll over and take it because they dont believe they can make a difference or simply have no fight left in them. This used to be the 'land of the free, home of the brave'. Bullocks! As for the pledge of allegiance that's a bit of a joke too. "one nation under god, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"". We are a divided country, with little choice and there sure as hell isn't any justice being served!
I am located in southern California and am willing to be the person to start the snowball rolling or join in the efforts. Later I will post an email address which will be designated for open communication for the above mentioned subject matter. In addition I will be forming a blog site. Social networking and open channels of communication will be our saving grace. As they sing on the renowned Small World attraction at Disney Land, " It's a small world after all.". Yes,.... indeed it is.

Specialists state that mortages aid people to live the way they want, because they can feel free to buy needed stuff. Moreover, various banks present commercial loan for different classes of people.

Cars and houses are not very cheap and not everyone is able to afford it. However, loan modification was created to help people in such kind of cases.

I do not have the money yet to keep my house. I cannot worry, just because it is possible to resolve such problems.
