Loan Modification with HSBC

June 03, 2010

I was approved for a temporary loan modification but then HSBC said it was a mistake and that I did not qualify for Obama's HAMP Program. Apparently, I make too much money and personal financial problems are not "their" issue. I have tried to work with them and they are unbelievably rude. They asked my why I took out a mortgage I could not afford. First and foremost they approved me and second I could afford it when I signed the contract.

We are going through the same thing with HSBC. In October 2009 they approved us for a modification; dropping our payments from 1459 to 806. After paying the adjusted amount into January, they started with collection calls, told me that we didn't get approved, nothing was in the system for any modification...I told them that I didn't just pull that figure of 806 out of my a** Now they want like 10k to stop foreclosure.
