I am currently trying to get a loan modification with flagstar bank through a company called Quest financial solutions, I have been waiting now about 2months, but every week 1 of the members at Quest calls to tell me everything is in review and she will keep me updated. I want to know how long does this process take and will do I get an answer.

I went through modification after a wadge reduction. In nov 2009 It was processed through Sterling Retention co. out of Flordia. I made the modified amount for 4 months They told me to send in my taxes owed and ins. and it wuld be all rolled into a new payment of 829.50 which was a big savings with great termsof 2 percent. everything was great until the final and permanent modification. at that point I was notified that they were no longer using sterling retention co. that they had screwed up to aney modifications and that they were going to finish it themselves. the payment at that point went to more then it was to begin with and now I am delinquint and forced into a short sale. to avoid forclosure. I had a qualified buyer but they screwed around for 5 months saying they needed updated docs and they had missing docs and the buyer got tired of waiting and withdrew. now it is back in forclosure. what do I do.

Hire a company, hire a lawyer or go through and find HUD approved counselors.
Most other loan mod people are basically scam artists.

I have since lost the buyer I had for the short sale because the electric was turned off and the house was vacant. the basement has flooded and the insurence wouldnt cover it because the electric was turned off . it was not an accident. now I am getting ready to finish my bankrupcy. It was the only option I had left. I would like flagstar to have to account for all the damages they have done to peoples lives. I would be very interested in your class action. Kelly kovacic

I am so sick of hearing about these issues. Stay away from FLAGSTAR BANK they lie, they are crooked!!! Banks like FLAGSTAR are one of the reasons for this mortgage meltdown. Besides every other Financial institution and Real estate companies participation. I understand home owners applied for loans they thought they could pay for. No one anticipates loosing their job, becoming ill, getting divorced, etc... Still banks are playing hardball and the HAMP program is full of S***! It reminds me of the pyramid game and we are the victims while Big Banks and our Government profit from our demise. As far as the American Dream we are living in a Nightmare. Home prices may be falling and it is a buyers market at the expense of those Americans loosing there homes.

Actually Mark, Flagstar, Marquis Money and Keller Williams all involved in predtory practices that prey on the uninformed and over consumed. Build the desire and the greed for needless things develops, hence leading to the three mercedes in the garage with payments and the house note with payments and neither can be made. Oh, but you have to have an active credit score to do anything nowdays. What a rut.

I have been working with Flagstar with my modification for a year. I went through the payment plan for 6 months and denied me because they say my application was incomplete. I have sent them all my paper work and every time I call them they tell me I need to submit more paperwork or it is incomplete. I have hired someone to take care of my modification and it was good until they sent me a foreclosed letter. I hate Flagstar. They are liars.

I would like to know more about the class action law suit. I am in the same position that all of you describe. I started working with a professional housing counselor after sending in paperwork to Flagstar and they always said that something wasn't right.
When I began my modification two years ago, I was assigned to an individual that was my contact person. Now they run everything through an assembly line and if it isn't right - it's tossed out!
Also, I requested a HUD investigation on the way the foreclosure was handled. The HUD rep. said that FS was in compliance with all notifications?? How can her investigation be thorough and just when she has only heard their side of the story? I have a long story of the many inconsistencies within the way my modification was handled and it isn't over yet - THEY ARE NOT TAKING MY HOME

I went to Congress with ours. It does make a difference. Get in touch with your representatives and the Attorney General in your state and file complaints left and right, also the Office of Thrift Supervision as Flagstar is not a bank, it is a thrift. Also, the Securities and Exchange Commission as the mortgages at Flagstar are lumped together as a security and sold as a deritive.

YOu should call and get assistance. There is a line that can assist you with modification issues with the MHA Hamp program. It doesn't cost anything to discuss.

Good luck with that, recommend a real attorney.

Flagstar is a complete joke. I worked with them for almost a year to modify my loan. After the 3rd attempt, they told me I didn't qualify for HAMP, but I did qualify for HAFA. They said they would be sending out the paperwork and it had to faxed in to them within 14 days. (Which for the record is just a letter where you check mark a box that says "Yes, I am interested in the HAFA Short Sale Program") I called numerous times looking for the paperwork, but was told to wait. I expressed that I did want to participate in the HAFA program on several different dates, which was noted on my account. When it was all said and done, I did not receive the paperwork until a day after the 14 day window, and was told too bad. Flagstar ordered the documents one day, it was printed the next day, and was postmarked the day after that, of course eating into my 14 day window. Who knows when it was actually sent out. I also found out that a manager closed my file out a day early, which is against the program rules. I called a counselor who tried to help with the situation, but nothing ever came of it other than false hope. In the midst of all this, I've found a short sale buyer for my home and Flagstar has had the paperwork in "escalated review" since July 14th and we are due to close in 2 weeks. Shocker. When I called today, I was treated rudely and told to call back in a week or two. Oh yeah, and they served me with a foreclosure notice this past week. I'm at the end of my rope with these people, but since my wages were cut and I could no longer afford my mortgage payments, I am suddenly the bad guy and have absolutely no rights whatsoever.
