Deed in lieu of foreclosure with America's Servicing Company
I have a temporary situation that has arisen. My credit cards are maxed out and I have had to make out a personal loan to pay doctor bills. My mortgage company miscalculated my escrow account and my payments went up from 1079 to 1261 after I negotiated to have it lowered from 1489. I cannot pay this increase and according to the bank I have to pay this amount for the next two years and then my escrow account will be squared off. Still my payments will remain high. I consulted Naca and they want me to go into forbearance, but I do not like this arrangement because a friend cosigned and I do not want to ruin his credit score. Reading the AFS brochure I noticed that I could opt for deed in lieu of foreclosure. While I am not behind on my payments I fear that I will and eventually lose my house. I do not mind returning the home and moving temporarily into an apartment, but what I do not want is to ruin my friends credit. Can you get back to me and see if you could help. I am working some extra hours and will arrive late every day this week but you can contact me after 8pm.
