Can I get a loan modification with Flagstar

April 16, 2010

I have been working with a few different people from Flagstar since 2009. However, I have been getting the usual run-a-round. I would like to try to see about saving my house with a loan modification. I've been trying to avoid foreclosure for months now, but no success. Can I get a loan modification with Flagstar?

Has anybody had any success getting a loan modification with Flagstar Bank????

My husband has been unemployed for a month now and has been denied a modification. So, we have fallen behind a few months and can't make payments. we are begging for answers. As of now we have heard nothing. The only time we hear from Flagstar is when their looking for payment. I just don't have it and it would help for the best loan modification possible or we may be forced to walk away. The million dollar question is IS FLAGSTAR REALLY HELPING THE PEOPLE with loan modifications or are they giving us the run around because that's what it feels like. I just want some facts.

I have been trying for a loan mod since Jan 10. I have started the process over 3 times with them as they change the process. Today they stated they have a new "efficient and streamlined process" that means I will now start the process again and never have the same contact at the bank. The previous contact that I called directly is no longer accepting calls. This bank sucks.

I'm having the same problem. Has anyone had a successful reconsolidation with this bank?

I have been trying to get FlagStar to work with me for over a year. As the person stated above, they keep changing their processes and you have to go back to square one again. My husband has been unemployed for over a year. I attempted to pay the mortgage for about 15 months and finally gave up since FlagStar would not even look at my package until I go into Foreclosure. I now have a short sale offer and I am wondering if they will even accept it. FlagStar does SUCK!!!

I have been trying to modify my loan since November of 2007. I keep sending paperwork, they keep asking for the same stuff. Round and Round we go

Flagstar also gave me the run around, had me re-submit those packages over and over, told me they could not help me until I was in foreclosure, then they took my home. All the while they refused to accept ANY $$ from me. What they are doing is criminal.

I wish we could all get together and file a class action lawsuit against this company! After trying over a year to get a loan mod from them they turned us down, said our paperwork was incomplete, (a lie) and placed our home in foreclosure. My husband called them, spoke to Carolyn, and she said we'd be placed on their loan mod "active list" again, and not to worry. That was 2 mths ago. Today we received the notice that our home is set for sale 1/14/11, and they want the total amount owed to stop the sale... like we have $285,300.00 at our disposal! I don't think for one minute they ever intended to work with us or anyone else for that matter. Merry Christmas everybody!!

I agree with Gloria's comment, "I wish we could all get together and file a class action lawsuit against this company!". I am quite sure that the number of complainants on this website is a very small percentage when compared to the total number of people that have been blatantly swindled by Flagstar.

We've had the same experience with Flagstar - a run-around for past 15 mos. They lose our docs, deactivate our case, make us reapply and resend docs and basically putting us off. I'd be interested in this class action lawsuit against Flagstar. Where do I sign up?

I am having the same run around with flagstar bank . ive doing this modification for about 2 yrs now . i keep sending the same things over and over and over again and again. they send me a letter saying they cant help with my loan they keep saying its incomplete. its a crock of bull. they need to have a class action suit against them . im tired of them giving people the run around. thats all i got to say.

So, after 16 months of run around trying to get a loan mod., declining 3 short sale offers, they took the lowest bid at auction. Yes, lower than my short sale offers. If anyone does follow up with a lawyer I have all my paper work. Notes from phone calls in which promises were made then that employee was "transferred". Even a lawyer working for them was baffled by their actions. Very frustrating.

Kelly I see a post offering info regarding class action suit but I do not see how to contact you.?

i started the process 16 months ago i have been getting the run around the whole time sending in docs every month. they say missing docs not true. after 6 months i payed someone to help me. since i hired her they havent said missng docs they just say week after week getting closer to a mod. every week im like ok it will happen next week. i was never denied the mod just no answer. then i get a forclosure sale date on my door for dec 22 2011. i was a complete mess. all trhe way up to the 21st they still were saying same thing getting close. i had no chose to file chapter 13 to try to save my house. i am a single mom of twins on disability i put 440, 000 down on my house in 2006 all my law suit money from an accident from a doctor. i filed the 21st fopr chapter 13 i called hamp hot line on the 22nd they said i qualify for hamp and they want to know why flagstar never sent me a welcome letter for hamp a denial for hamp they wanted to know what was going on. i called with hamp no line now they r working with me we will called off sale date, but they woould have taken my house if i had not filed
