Bank of America bought my loan from Countrywide

July 28, 2009

My Mortgage was bought by Bank of america from Countrywide home loans. Now they say I am 5 months behind and am sure they are working to foreclose. UGH! My friend thinks I should just walk away but not after living here 22 years and not for $8700 debt. My wife is disabled and this stress is really effecting her health issues.

We are goig through drama with Countrywide also, my husband and I are now meeting with our personal lawyer on this coming Tuesday. When we call Countrywide they say we are still under loan modification, however we are getting letters from Bank of America and they want to foreclose. We now have to pay a lawyer to stop things on the court end and let the loan modification catch up. The whole thing is a total nightmare, I can completly relate to your frustration!!!!!

Well good luck with that process. I am also dealing with Bank of America since they took over Countrywide and it has been a nightmare. I got a few months behind on the mortgage due to medical reasons and missing work due to that. Last month I did everything they asked of me. I paid $1,000.00 and since February this year I had in for a Modification and was being told I was approved but it just had to finish the review process; being told this for months. Now I am 2 months behind on the mortgage and yesterday I received a notice that if I don't pay the two months by the end of this month that they will foreclose on my home. I asked about the program and was told no you are being declined for that. I don't get why they lead me on for so many months to just tell me sorry your stuck. Keeply frustrated!!!!

You can contact the US Department of housing they might be able to get you a silent second it is FREE to go to them for advice if your old enough and have equity you can also look at a reverse mortgage

Best of luck

How would you feel if your lawyer kept telling you he was working on your case to save your home from foreclosure for one year and then you find out your VA Loan went to Bank of America and your home was completely being foreclosed on? Our lawyer lied for almost a year and a half and he took our money to boot for his services>>>>>?????

Do yourself all a favor. These mortgage remodification companies are a complete farce and ripoff. They take your money and tell you what you want to hear. Of course you will do almost anything not to lose your house...They know it, and will ripp you off! Take it from me, I got taken across twice! $3,000 later I am still losing my home. Save your money and move on.

Wow!! I just got off the phone with BOA as well and they are saying that I am 5 months behind as well and that I now owe over $8000. I checked my statement from last month and that number is double what it said that I owed! Now on top of that they will not accept any payment from me unless it is the full amount! I'm trying to go through the loan mod. process which they tell me could take 120 days and that if i said a payment they will return it! I'm in the same boat as you and I'm not quite sure what to do! I've been calling frantically everywhere and feel that I am getting the run around. I was so much happier with Countrywide before BOA took over. They seem to screw up everything!

Countrywide had our mortgage for 18yrs. My husband took out home equity loan to pay medical bills for heart value replacement. Now deceased they BOA wants me to pay loan in his name only. Mortgage is current except home equity loan in my deseased husbands name. They call me 4-6 times a day 6 days a week about the estate. There wasn't any estate after being hospitalized for last 5 months he lived. On life support for weeks and $840thousand dallor hospital and Dr. bills. Now BOA wants to harass me on his estate even though I am paying the current mortgage and escrow. I will let you know if they help. It has been an very stressful. Haven't even had time to grieve my loss. BOA has caused me a nightmare. All I inherited was bils and a nightmare from BOA. Spend two to three hours on phone disconnected, given wrong numbers to call. So I went to a BOA Branch office and had the vice president to do the calling for me. He had the same problem. One thing good I made him earn his high salary for one day. A year ago he told me to just pay the loan and draw off it. My name isn't even on the account and neither was the first mortgage.
Well, its seems BOA may have more foreclouser than they can handle and ask the government for another bailout. Bet you think the same way.

Has anyone in Virginia had a problem with Countrywide/Bank of America? I know these posts on this thread are old, but we have two different banks saying the own the Mortgage, but niether can produce proof.
