Will this Obama plan really help help anyone?
March 12, 2009
I am so very sick of ASC. I have completed the hardship paperwork 3 times! They sit on the paperwork until it is 60 day's old and then when I call they say they need it again. Of course nothing has changed; I am still in the same situation. I have received so doggone many conflicting pieces of correspondence that I am confused. I just want to know is this another one of those things that will result in a request for more money; it so, don't even bother to contact me. My husband passed away in October 2007, I don't have any doggone money! I just need help. What is this Obama lunacy about helping homeowners get modifications? Do you do that? Again people, I ain't got no money!!!!

I am also sick of dealing with ASC. They are not interested in helping anyone. I have sent paperwork to them 5 times and then they close my file and tell me I have to resubmit everything b/c they didn't have all the paperwork. BS! Amazingly today I speak to a manager and he finds that all the paperwork is there and he will jump right on that and see what they can do for me. This is ridiculous. I have had nothing but trouble trying to deal with them. They don't want to help people. It's a cat and mouse game.
I have been dealing with ASC trying to figure out ways to keep my house for the past 6 months. I first attemtped refinance (which didn't work b/c I owe more than it appraises for). Then I tried short sale and that didn't work. Now I'm trying a loan modification and it seems that one thing after another comes up on their end. I speak to them 2-3 times a week and I'm constantly being told different information. They obviously have no organization at that company. They call you today and say they need one thing then 2 days later they need something else and low and behold 3 days later you get a letter stating everything has to be redone. What the heck are they doing there? I am so sick of trying to deal with them. They are terrible and impossible to deal with!
I agree ASC is terrible and it is companies like these that have made the economy what it is today. They would not help us either but all their corporate big shots are living high off (from their overinflated rates that we pay) the hog while the rest of struggle.
It is companies like this that will cause our county to collapse and the governement just keeps giving more to them!

i had to get a lawyer after almost 15 months trying to deal with ASC, i can't do this anymore. after 3 different ways to try to help me, they can't,they even told me not to pay my mortgage so that would help me recieve a loan modification. thats when i took the last of my savings,1500.00 dollars and hired a lawyer i found through my local carpenters union. all i wanted was to get locked into my original interest rate at 7.5 they couldn't even do that. i'm not asking for a new mortgage, i never lied on my original application 4 years ago, i did not ask for ASC they brought my mortgage i think they have made enough on the interest and late fees and all other fees. American big business greed!!!!!!!!!!! i was paying my payments on time ever since the mortgage adjusted, but about 5 months ago when they stopped working with me i owed new york ultilities aka LIPA over 2,350.00 dollars 3 car payments all because i kept tring to pay my mortgage @ interest as high as 11 pct. enough already. something has to be done about this ASC/WELLS FARGO!!!!!!!!! they did take TARP/BAILOUT MONEY!!!! WE DID NOT GET OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASC is a fraud and needs to have there management team investigated for decpetive business practices and treason. I signed up for the Hope program and prequalified with ASC's so called hope department. I was given specific instructions and I complied exactly as instructed. One week later a leter is sent that I am denied. I call with my notes in hand and ask to speak with a supervisor to discuss the letter. After pleading to be listened to, the supervisor informs me that the program is on hold because my govt wants to create a new and improved version of the hope program. She continues that there is nothing she can do because HUD has halted the program to improve it for the best interests of their consumers. What a bunch of bull. I called HUD and FHA resource center and they laughed replying that ASC has been known to tell tales. Obama help - Wells Fargo takes our Feds low rates and makes billions in loans, while grinning widely and promosing the world... why not, the executives didn't think you where serious. By the way how many ASC reps does it take to screw in a light bulb??? Nobody knows, each department has been instructed to transfer the request 5 times then decline anyone who argues that the company hires robots who prefer reading scripted responses and work in the dark.
I see that many of us have had and are still having problems with asc.In fact im having the exact problems. They lie and one person does not know what the other one knows and tells you something different. I did not ask for this company they bought my mtg. This company should be put out of business. People like us who are in trouble are trying to do the best we can and that isnt good enough for them. I cant even get on the damn website to do a payment on there or anything else.I was told to go on the site and fill out the form for my monthly expenses..how the heck can i do that if i cant get on?? and they lied and told me they mailed papers to me on april 15 PLEASSSSSE. HELP SOMEONE ... and as far as Obama 's help I dont know that plan can help us so whats the use.. We all need a plan to help us all...
Write to the US Banking Commission - they've helped me in the past with the A******* and are helping me now with a modification on my 1st mortgage.
what is the telephone number to contact US Banking Commission. I need urgent help.
We were only one month behind on our adjustable rate payment when I tried to get them to modify our loan and all they did was give me the run-around! I couldn’t believe it when the guy on the phone (he was a big jerk!) actually said that my family shouldn’t eat so much because then we would spend less on groceries and would have more money to make our mortgage payment! He also said we should get a cheaper car and a bunch of other stuff that was really rude. This whole thing was keeping me up at night worrying about what was going to happen to us. I told my friend at work about this and she said I should call the loan modification company that got her loan modified down to 3.25% fixed interest rate! I finally decided to call them, and in about 45 days they got my interest rate down to 3.85% on a fixed rate too! The company is First American Financial Group and we are really happy with what they did for us. The website is theloanmodfacts.com. We chose them because they didn’t make a bunch of promises like some of the other companies and they had a 100% money back guarantee. I hope this helps some other people fighting with their loan company!

US Government Banking Commission???
26 02 2008
What is the US Government Banking Commission? No one knows with the sole exception of a persistent scam artist who’s trying his darnest to make a buck.
First of all, we need to understand the concept of “phishing” (pronounced “fishing”) before going anywhere. According to Wikipedia, it’s defined as “an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. eBay, PayPal and online banks are common targets.” What that means is a phisher is someone who tries to fish around for your personal information through some form of communication be it emails, websites, phone calls, or even personal visits.
Reported on The Consumerist [original source], watch and listen as an “agent” working for a non-existing organization, US Government Banking Commission, tries to acquire the bank account number of a Virginian, Mr Howard Beasley. Unfortunately for the “agent”, Beasley’s all too suspicious of Indian accents and callers asking for personal information and records the call. A short excerpt taken from The Consumerist is listed below for your convenience.
Howard Beasley told the caller he was being recorded, but the man didn’t hang up.
The caller said, “I’m a representative of the United States Banking commission and by mistake we took $481 out of your checking account.”, says Howard Beasley.
Howard Beasley started recording.
Howard: The government cannot take money out of your account. So I know this is nothing but a scam.
For ten minutes, an extremely persistent man tried everything he could think of to get Howard’s account number, the man said to give back the money.
Caller: What’s your bank account number?
Howard: If you got it out, you’ve got the number.
Caller: Please verify me your account number.
Howard: No way.
Caller: Please verify me your account number.
Howard: No way.
Caller: You don’t want the money? You don’t want your money?
Howard: I don’t want to be scammed.
Caller: Sir, you are not a scam. You have no right to talk to me like that.
Howard: I can tell you to take the $480 dollars and shove it up your *** that’s what I can tell you.
The tape continues to roll as the caller spits out Howard’s address and threatens to pay him an unwelcome visit.
Caller: I’m just coming within two days with two FBI agents, OK.
Howard: Well, you come down here with two FBI agents.
Howard: I’ll have them same two FBI agents on you.
Caller: OK, you just wait and watch. I’m coming within two days.
Howard: Well, you bring ‘em here. I’ve got a 357. I’ll put your name on it.
In the case of the Banking Commission phishing case, it’s starting to be a more common phenomenon nowadays with the growing number of call centers outsourced/off-shored to far-away places like India and lax privacy laws abroad, our personal data is increasingly put at risk. Those call centers are given 1-800 numbers which are located and registered IN the United States meaning that they can call anyone anytime anywhere in the USA at local call rates and paid by the company those gooks work for.
Now not every internationally located call center agents are crooks but there’s always the case of one rotten apple in a basket. So how do you protect yourself from such people?
1. Even though you’ve heard this a million times, NEVER give out your personal information over the phone unless you initiated the call to a recognized/trusting location.
2. Keep the anti-virus software up to date on your computers.
3. Make your computer stay in shape by running the dynamic duo consisting of Spybot and CCleaner on a weekly basis. They’ll ensure your spyware/adware stuff is kept to a minimum.
4. Watch out for the “phishing” emails as listed in my posts here, here, and here.
5. When you get a call…
1. If it sounds too good to be true or something out of the regular, start recording the conversation and tell the agent that you are doing so.
2. Always ask for the name, employee ID, call-back phone number, name and address of business, location of call-center, and ticket # associated with every call you get.
3. Cross verify the address of the business using the internet.
4. If you have a caller ID on your phone, verify the # they give you to the # listed on it.
5. Do NOT conduct business over the phone #. Once the call is over, go to the official website of the company in which you deal with and call their customer support line.
6. Relay them the information handed to you by the agent previously and the rest is up to you.
7. Usually the best idea is to spend as little time on the phone with them. Also tell them that you are on the DO-NOT-CALL list.
6. Stay alert. In a lot of cases, the scammer doesn’t usually display the stereotypical mid-eastern Indian accent. Just because he/she has a southern accent doesn’t mean they’re good ol’southern gentlemen/ladies.
7. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there so stay focused during your interactions with them.

asc just serves your loan. they do not have authority to help because they do not have your note. your loan was packaged up and sold on wall street then sold overseas. they do not have your note, which mean they can not foreclosure. so stay in your house, asked they to show you the note. they do not have it and can not foreclosure on you.
We are very unhappy with ASC. My husband is in construction and from May through July of last year he had almost no work. We called ASC and told them the situation. The man I talked to said we needed to cut down our expenses and asked me if more people in the house could get a job. Anyway, we started making payments again, but we received a notice saying we owed the missed payments and late fees which came to $10,000. We called ASC and they told us if we made three payments of $875.00 from Dec to February they would work on a loan modification and add the $10,000 onto that. Well we kept calling and the only answer we got was "Its in Review." I called in May and someone told me it went to Obama's plan on April 16th. Well here we are in August and we just received a "Notice of Trustee's Sale." This whole thing has made us sick, it's been dragging on so long. Our neighbor told us to call our state representative so we talked to her today. She said fax over all our paperwork by monday morning. She sounded more than happy to go to work for us. I will let everyone know how that goes. Everyone in this situation definitely needs a lawyer or someone to help stand up to this dreadful company. I will keep you posted!
I am also sick of dealing with ASC. They are not interested in helping anyone. I have sent paperwork to them 5 times and then they close my file and tell me I have to resubmit everything b/c they didn't have all the paperwork. Amazingly today I speak to a manager and he finds that all the paperwork is there and he will jump right on that and see what they can do for me. This is ridiculous. I have had nothing but trouble trying to deal with them. They don't want to help people.
Sounds like we are all in the same boat regarding ASC. They delay and do ask for more each time we call. They come up with excuses that I have to research and write back showing them that their info is incorrect. Stall Tacktics - that's all this is. ASC will keep stalling untill finally they can foreclose on the property. This is deceptive and fraudulent. Obama needs to see this just like "Joe the Plumber." Who the heck is Joe and does anyone really care? We are real people and we are being deceived. The banks are getting richer and the workers are getting poorer. Just like the Bee movie, eventually it will all tumble down. By then it is too late for us. But, the White House still functions and they get to buy new furniture, clothes, food on their tables, toys, vacations!!!! Who are they kidding? Do they really care? NO!
Our state representative has finally helped us! I wrote the letter above. Come to find out after all these months our paperwork was never even looked at. ASC was straight out lying to us. The paperwork, with the help of our Congresswomen, is now in the president's office at Wells Fargo. I don't know what the results are going to be ( I heard Wells Fargo hasn't done too many loan modifications for people). All I can do now is pray. Our house, as it stands, is still set to be auctioned off on October 21st. Good luck to everyone!

i am with asc also,2nd of every month they call like crazy.
i have been once in the last 12 months 30 days late and they wont refinance me,wont modify my loan ,wont do anything.
today i phoned 7 different banks and was told they couldn't refinance my home because it wont appraise for what i owe.
not looking for any favors here just a lower rate and have been making payments for 4 yrs.
asc sucks
