Please help me Stop the Foreclosure without filing Bankruptcy

I don't want to file bankruptcy. If at all possible we would like to do a deed in lieu, we have only missed this months house payment, but we will no longer be able to make it due to loss of wages and medical condition.

I fell behind with my house payments but sent the money to catch it up, but for some reason the check hasn't gone through. Is that a sign that Chase is going to foreclose?
My wife bought this house before we were married. Right after our marriage she lost her job. I have been making the payments for the last 9 months. I have missed 3 payments but have still sent in my payments at the first of the month. Chase has excepted all the payments but I get a letter that they are forclosing. Why, can't I get some help here. Like put the three payments on the rear of the note and I will continue making the payments and try to send extra when she gets back to work. We don't want to lose our house. Please help!!!!
I tried for a modification last march(09). Sent paper work in 4 times, they just told me to send it in again and re apply. I feel like throwing in the towel. My trial payments are only 100 less then the original payment. any suggestions?
