Nation Star said there is nothing they could do, is that true?

February 12, 2009

We are not behind in our payments yet. We have been struggling to keep paying them and for the first time in January we were late and tried to seek help from our mortgage company. They said there was nothing they could do. We just want help to avoid having to go into foreclosure. My husband lost his job and we were told by the mortgage company that until he has stable income they will not help us.

DOES NATIONSTAR RECEIVE ANY BACKING OF FEDERAL MONEY?
Posted By madaleine on February 18, 2009 at 10:39 PM
i am a loan officer at nationstar.
i am about to resign, that's why i feel i can be completely honest with you- nationstar is the most "corrupt" business i have ever seen. they instruct the loan officers to assure the borrower that they qualify for a refinance, get the appraisal money from the borrower and then when the appraisal comes in low, tell the borrower they can get a loan modification through the loss-mitigation department.
Posted By loaner 1 on February 19, 2009 at 10:29 AM
Is there free assistance in michigan with appraisals or help with chapter 13 counseling? I need to have my home reappraised to lower the taxes; hence, lowing the payroll deduction for my chapter 13. They are deducting over half my monthly income to cover my debts, mostly for my mortgage, which they have homeowners and proprty taxes escrowed.
Also, My schedule J for the chapter 13 is estimated extremely low for living expenses. I have been going thru this for 4 years now and get very little help from my trustee. I am charrged an extemely high amount just to ask question like htis and i do not have enough money to put gas in my car, eat, feed my animals and have the bare necessities. WHat can I do?

Plus, I have an adjustable mortgage. plaese help with any available resources.

My husband and I are self-employed. He's in construction, need I say more? Work has come to a stand still. We traveled over 1000 miles to work during the winter. We are behind in our Mortgage Payments. We owed 2 months, going on 3. We made a payment in Feb of nearly $3,000. After setting up the payment, they said we needed to pay 1 of 3 other charges. The least was for approx $34. for something I have no idea, they said it was a charge they implemented since they guaranteed our payment. What is that? The other were late charges, one was over $300 the other over $500. They got the info from us to do a modification but want another $3,000 by 3/31. That will be nearly $6,000 in just 2 months. I'm scared, are they just getting every dollar they can and then deny us a modification? They won't say anything except that it's being processed. I don't want to take every last penny and then get denied. Our interest rate is 7.99% and they said, "Oh, that's not bad" We paid over $24,000 last year in interest alone and only a little over $1,100.00 towards principle. Why can't they just lower the interest? That's all we ask and put the past due on the tail end. They don't want my house as much as I do...

Anyone looking for a Loan Modification seeking first reliable trustworthy specialist? As long as the sheriff sale has not taken place I can help you save your home. If you have been on time or get behind I can get you a rate no higher than 5% and as low a 2%. Any situation that shows a hardship as well, can be done.

This is the most corrupt mortgage company out there. I have been lied to by every person that works there. They do not have any compassion or plan for the homeowners. I lost my job due to disability, we had an ARM three months later they raised our rate. They told us to go to a charity or sale something to get help to make your payment. That was 3 years ago. We then put our house on the market, again the Nationstar representative lied about the modification to sell program. We sent the MLS & they said they don't have that program. For 2 years we continued to make payments with interests rates going from 8.5% to 14.5%. Since we couldn't sell the property, we hired an attorney, sent the letter we wanted to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure. The principal balance then was $40,000 less than the assessed value. Nationstar representative "Devonne" said they have received the letter & had ordered the appraisal & would be in contact. Her next phone call was to tell me "now that you have decided to do deed in lieu you have to vacate the property". She explained you are willing to give the property up. They did ordered the appraisal. We moved out of our home in December. Again I called Devonne & she assured me they received the appraisal Jan 12th & it would be about 3 days we would here from their attorney. They would contact me to send someone to inspect the property. We moved out in early December. March 5, I received a phone call from my attorney that Nationstar is foreclosing. One month later I received a phone call from Teresa at Nationstar. She wanted to know our plan with the property & could we send the money to catch up the account. Two days after that it was posted on the door of my home it will be sold at sheriff's sale. Three weeks later I received a phone call from wanted to know our plan & they always asked if the property is vacant. Two days after that they changed the lock on my door. This is again the most corrupt, political game being played across our country. The big stimulus bailout is a way for people like John Edwards to dip his hand again in companies like this one & benefit from middle class people. My home will be sold May 28 at sheriff's sale, who is going to benefit from this?

I am fighting Nationstar Mortgage over a loan modification that they offered me. They had me sign an agreement (which I did agree to) statting that if I paid three "trial period payments" by specific dates, that my loan documents will automatically be modified to the lower payment/lower interest rate. My "new mortgage" payment was then due on June 1st. I paid the three trial period payments (March, April & May) as well as the June 1st payment (not easy seeing that the May 16th payment was just paid). I left myself with $100 in the bank, but thought it was worth it. On June 1st, I called asking when my new monthly statement would arrive, showing the new interest rate and new monthly payment amount. They said "the program that you were in was cancelled, you are not in a modification program, but... we have another program you can sign up for, which will require three trial period payments"!!!!! I can't believe these people. The next day, I received a foreclosure paper, giving me 35 days to pay the 4 months that I was behind (job loss) or they will begin the foreclosure process.

I have never been so angry with any company in any business as I have with Nationstar Mortgages. When Ditech sold our mortgage to NationStar, our world turned upside down. Whomever reads this please beware. NationStar Lending is comprised of 2 bit salesfolks with little morals. Stay away from NationStar.

To all above who have been foreclosed on and/or cheated by this company, I feel a lot of empathy...think that foreclosures on people who have lost jobs is, for lack of a better word, a sin.
I have been trying to close a loan with this company...it is the one that is associated with Champion? I got the referral from Lending Tree. I have been told one story after another and now can't get anyone to return my calls.
Maybe I am lucky...after having reading the above blogs. So, I'm calling off this deal. Does anyone know if the documents you submitted can be returned? And is there something that can be done to file formal complaints? I plan to contact Lending Tree with a complaint. What can be done to companies that outright lie to their customers?

Join the club. CCO Mortgage did the same thing and then after becoming three months behind, offered to lower the payments. During those months that it took to miss three payments we fell so far in debt on everything else we can't afford the lower payments. To little to late. If they would have helped from the start we would have made it.

this company is no help. we are really trying to keep our home but they don't want to help. we've talked to a million different people a million different times and noone seems to be able to help. we're starting to give up on this and give up the home. does anyone know how this would affect us in the long run? i know our credit will be dropped to the ground but will we have to pay them back for this home we will probably no longer be living in?

I have been trying to get a loan modification from Nationstar and had three different people first one said i did qualify for modification and to begin making trial payments of one amount/ for three months/ she stated that this payment was at 48% of my current salary, I stated that the Obama plan was to be 31% she says well you have to start out making this payment and then it will be adjusted to 31% of salary. Before I could make the payment I get another call about being behind and I state that I had already talked to someone and had a payment arrangent she says she does not see it, then comes back and says she sees it now, I ask her about the 31% payment adjustment and why am I at 48% and she says it should be 31% and it was based on my previous salary and gave me a new amount which was considerably less. BUT she says I do not make the trial payments I need to make full mortgage payment immediately. I state at this point I am a little leary. I let her know that the first person I spoke with said they would be fedexing the package and it had yet to come she stated that I would receive it within 2 weeks. Now a month later still no package and yet another person has called to set up the same deal that is already noted on my account. I am now truly leary about sending in a payment at this time. I do not know what to do. I cannot afford my current mortgage due to hours being cut on my job, which will be cut more this fall. I just need this resolved I am a single mom and my quality of life with my kids is impaired by this. I want to make a payment but I am in a predicament where I only have enough monies to move or payment and with the payment and no modification am I just delaying the inevitable. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know asap I am close to 3 months behind as of the 1st and I am quite nervous at this point. I guess I can wait for the next rep to call me but I truly do not trust them at this point.

Nation Star foreclosed on my next door neighbor's home of 17 years after her husband died of cancer and she couldn't make the payments. After putting a poor widow with a handicapped son in the street, they have abandoned this property, leaving the grass and bushes to grow 3 feet high. It's the most hideous hovel you NEVER want to live next to. It has windows boarded up, broken stairs, siding blowing off, raccoons and vermin living in it, and the entire inside is stripped of pipes and appliances. It has no less than 4 liens against it and no clear title. They appraised this broken down shack for $200,000 in a neighborhood of modest ranches that are generally appraised by the city for tax purposes at around $160,000. They are the sub-prime KINGS! Corrupt? They have never paid one cent of taxes to this city. If I stopped paying taxes the city would seize my house and auction it off. Nation Star and the scumbags just like them are ruining my city and driving down our prop values. My husband and I slaved for twenty years to pay off our mortgage only to be left looking at this horror for our "golden years." How can we even sell and move? The banks have screwed us out of our equity by ruining our neighborhood. I say, let the city solicitors grab these bank properties for non-payment of taxes and auction them off. Give them back to the people and screw the banks BACK.

Is Nationstar bank and PNC Bank the same ?
Posted By Terry on September 27, 2010 at 02:03 PM
Apparently not. Information on the web, such as Wikipedia and Business News report that they are a reincarnation of a mortgage company that was known as Centex Home Equity before 2006. They are also linked in some way with Champion Mortgage. The parent company of NationStar is Fortress Investment Group. PNC is an old bank that dates to the mid-1800's and was founded in Pittsburgh, Pa. It doesn't look as though they have gotten themselves entangled with the notorious NationStar bandits. (Lucky for them.) Hope this was helpful.

This company will fight you to the bigger end. AND WIN!! Did us, mine was due to disability on my part, no benefits, then my husband had to sell his business to get a job with benefits.
All you people have written is so reminding of the way Nationstar does business. Told us the same thins. Sell a tv, go to a local church to get help, or try the salvation army!! Give me a break.
The ceo received enough in his anual bonus to give 10 million of Fannie Mae's customers some help. Not a handout, but make it easier to get to a place financially for homeowners that have a life changing experience going on in their lives for a few months. Make a change in you customer's lives that is positive not lie to us over and over and take all the savings, and eventually, the home. I even paid an attorney, he wrote letters and spoke to someone in their office. His words "this is one of the most corrupt mortgage comp. I have every dealt with. They are getting triple money from this one forecloseure! All my money $18,000 in int.penalty's late fees, and double monthly payment's after they raised our int., trying to keep the house.thy sold and bought it back at a sheriff's sale after it sat empty for a yr. They got money direct from fannie mae for the loss of their mortgage, then they resold it for what I owed. This is a cruel awful place, I had 2 offers at the owed price to do a short sale and turned them down. And I did eveything but mail the keys to them, our attorney wrote to them to request a deed in lieu, because the value of the property was more than was owed and I would be saving the company forclosure fees, they had all of that set up and done, I moved out, cooperated fully to the point where they lied again and said one of their realtors was meeting me to get the keys on tuesday morning. Hah!! Little did I know this was their way of getting the house empty sooner and was going to get the house anyway. My attorney called, followed this process of lies with me and was lied to with every phone call made. This company has dirty hands and the CEO's with them are just as corrupt. Including one of their investors from years ago.....John Edwards...(yep the democrat running for Predident of the U.S.,cheating on his wife while having breast cancer, fathering a child while she was battling breast cancer and having 2 small children of his own) Dirty, rotten people behind hese so-willing to help people mortgage companies.

Help! 2 years ago our mortgage was sold from GMAC to Nationstar. We got behind on mortgage payments because my husband was laid off. We received a letter from nationstar about assistance to prevent foreclosure so we called and spoke with Theresa Kaname and she told us we would be able to save our house we would just need to send a minimum one mortgage payment and we would be ok. I agreed but, insisted that I wanted our new contract sent to us for my attorney and I to review and sign before I would send any form of payment. Nationstar agreed. Then 2 weeks later I finally get a call back stating we were denied by Fannie Mae for loan modification and we had 30 days to get out of our home due to sherriff's sale. So i asked if there were any more options they stated we could rent our own home from them when they purchased it back at auction. I was told them that was ridiulous. To make matters worse Nationstar bought the house back for 42,000 and turned around and put back on market for 16,000 but, couldn't help us save. What do we do now can anyone suggest who to contact to see if this procedure was unjustified.

i am 2 months behind payment due to job loss. they sent me HAMP loan modification forms, stating that no foreclosure proceeding will start while its being processed. 1 week later i get a mail notice of default and foreclosure threat. i dont know what is going to happen next, but after reading all these blogs, it does sound promising that i will get a fair treatment from this servicer.

We you post on NationStar or Nation Star mortgage
Don't forget to list the individuals with Nationstar Mortgage
Such as; David Cardenas & Michael Graham
Who are corrupt, lie, violate laws, etc & put your details!

You will see a history or bad business practices, lies, violations of law such as Wrongful Foreclosure
Remember since Nationstar acts as a debt collector at times as their phone message states - all inbound/outbound calls are recorded!!!!!! Take names times dates etc, also seek a forensic audit of your loan, see if that matches ALL loan dicumentations & what they such as David Cardenas & Michael Graham ( corrupt) told you on the phone, Yes dumbest ass of all Obama gets political donations from this company who services for Fannie Mae!!

If they tell you " no we won't sell your home, there will be no for sale sign & nobody will be coming to your door, everyone under law has an opportunity" don't believe them
Either get a great attorney or pack your belongings up.

They will lie this entire process, that is what they are trained to do, & that is how Nationstar ( a for profit company, servicer for Fannie Mae, gets more $$

Obama us at fault here too! Thank God Almighty I never voted for that failure!

This is a must see and pass on..why banks want you to foreclose!

It's me again. Haven't made a payment since Feb 2009. It seems everyone on this posing page has been through the same thing as us. Now we have moved out of our home of 11 years after going through paperwork for a deed in lieu. Yeah right!!! Now they've said we have liens on our house a mile long. WRONG! I went to my county office and the only lien on our home is from NationStar. When I asked that they send the list, no answer. Funny thing too, the liens go back to way past when we built the house. How can that be, but they don't want to hear it. Our home was on the market for almost 3 years now, they are not selling. I have had offers, put it in writing for short sales on the house. NO ONE CALLED BACK. NationStar has ruined our life. They say they want to work with you, but in reality, they can't be bothered except to get as much money out of you as they can, when they can. I'm not sending them another dime until they start doing something. They say they want to help, WRONG. I was sick of explaining things over and over again only to be told it never happened. They never got calls, no record of calls, so I started e-mailing everything, this way I have a record. Four weeks after my last e-mail which included a CASH OFFER on the house I got a return e-mail stating they won't conduct any business through e-mail. YEAH, that's because they don't want a solid record recorded. Now our home is empty, grass grown up, and we are homeless. Hope they are as happy with our home as we were.
