My mother got sick and later died, that put me behind and am facing foreclosure
The main reason that caused us to be late is my mother's resent illness and death. My mother had a server stroke May 2007 and was unable to maintain herself both physically as well as financially. I refinanced with GFI to be able to assist. This past year her health deteriorated and resulted in her death May 2008. I had to deplete my savings to assist in lay my mother to rest. This resulted in my payments becoming late. The 18% default interest rate has resulted in my fallen further and further behind. Now, it’s to the point where we cannot afford to pay what is owed to Emigrant. It is my full intention to pay what I owe. But at this time I have exhausted all of my income and resources so I am are turning to you for help. Now I am 110,000.00 behind. I am embarrassed and very afraid of my daughter’s future and mine. I know a loan modification would benefit me. My financial situation is completely stable, I am a NYC art teacher, and I have a three-year lease on my rental unit. I just need a new chance to get my loan back in good standing. I would appreciate if you can work with me to revise my delinquent amount owed and or payment so I can keep my home and also afford to make amends with Emigrant and keep my home of the past 16 years.
