My home is in probate and in foreclosure, what can I do?
February 13, 2009
The home was purchased by my uncle in 1985. We have lived at this home since 1985. He became very ill - I have been caring for him full time for the past 2 years, due to his illness. He passed away july 22, 2008 at home from cancer. The will leaving me as executor and sole beneficiary was recorded in 1987. I am in the process of entering the estate into probate. I am at a loss how to proceed, I need to stop or postpone the foreclosure - so that we may save our home. All we are asking is to resume payments - and have the past due balance put on the back of the loan.

I had GMAC and was in danger of foreclosure. Visit your local Consumer Credit Counseling office asap and ask about loan modification. Our local office saved me and my home. GMAC allowed the loan modification and they were easy to work with. They are easier to work with now.
