Everhome has been very difficult to work with to try and modify my loan

February 27, 2009

Rec'd telephone call today 2/26/09 from EverHome Loss Mitigation Dept.: my LTD disability is not "traditional" and my home appraisal seems to be around $159,000. Since the balance on my first mortgage is $99,000 and I am delinquent 90 days following an extended forbearance period wherein I have been unable to bring payments current, foreclosure proceedings will be initiated against me on 2/27/09 at expiration of forbearance agreement. No modification will be considered in view of 17 mos. of unemployment (lay-off). I have utilized 401k funds to attempt to become current, have made partial payments, and offered to bring $800 certified funds tomorrow a.m. following 6 mos. of correspondence and attempt to extend the term of the loan, from 24 years to 30 years. EverHome says, thanks but no thanks; suit yourself about the certified funds tomorrow--you do not have "traditional" income, good luck! During this forbearance period, I have found 3 notices on my door--the latest today. This feels like harassment since my home is worth more than the mortgage balance. Answers are difficult to obtain at best. Very frightening situation following diligent efforts to comply.

I only owe 24000 on it and they wont let me modify my mortage either. I am sick of these assholes.. I tried to work with them and they refused.. I am contesting my forclousure and I hope they get shut down!

I too have had incredibly hard time with these idiots. My loan is converting in 2010. Was out of work for 18 months due to cancer. Back now, but incurred a 2nd mortgage (they don't hold it). I owe 113,800 on the house, it is worth about 130,000. All I wanted them to do was give me a fixed rate for the next five years on a principle and interest and lower my interest rate, as I have an interest only and once it converts, I won't be able to afford it. Said no 3 times. I have a job now and am current on payments. Seems from reading other complaints that it doesn't matter if you are current or late, they refuse to modify NO MATTER WHAT. I am complaining to the Florida Office.

Has anyone had a good experience with Everhome on modification? I'm getting ready to start the process today. Am I wasting my time?

Everhome is vile. I am late on one - that's right, one - payment, and they are threatening foreclosure. They are the worst company I have ever seen.
Posted By Pam on April 23, 2009 at 07:10 PM
They called me about a week and half ago and they are going to modify me after all but since I am in forclousrue they are adding all the backpay in to the balance which is perfectly normal and legal but they are rasing my payments from 540.00 to 638. I have no idea if this is really going to work. They were actually nice to me, I was like hmmm?

I also have had issue with Everhome. They modified my loan, but essentially got another loan for me to catch us up after being 3 months behind, and they will not do anything else for us. I believe they want it to go to foreclosure because I am payiing 475 a month for PMI, and that is the insurance policy they have, that I pay in case I default. They are in a win win and in fact they win even bigger if I foreclose because of the PMI. Join the crowd people. We need to off some of these dirtbags, in my opinion.

I requested a loan modification and went through all the trouble of filling out a detailed financial statement for them. Then I was told I didn't qualify because according to my gross pay that was plugged into some equation they use for figuring if you qualify. I didn't fall into the range to qualify. I asked the lady helping me whether they took into account all my debt and the loss of some of my income when trying to see if I qualified and she stated "NO". What's the point in trying to qualify if they aren't going to look at your whole financial situation. If all I had to pay for was my mortgage every month then I wouldn't have even tried to get a loan modification. This whole situation stinks!!

We are trying to refi our house - our income has gone down substantially in the last 6 months and we are self employed so we are working longer hours and getting paid less. In order to offset the loss in our income we have rented all the rooms in the house out in order to make the mortgage payment. We sleep in the living room on a futon in order to save our home. However they feel that our income looks fine and they see no hardship because we have these new renters. We went thru the loan mod program over the last few weeks and they say that we make too much money because we have this 'rental income'. How can they say we are ok when we have no where to live in our own house. I want to live in the house again like a normal family and kick out all the renters but they won't lower my payments and my house is worth less then the mortgage so I can't refi. So they are counting this new 'rental income' into my income calculations because it shows up on my bank statements but its not really income...i have no where to live !! But they don't care....so should i kick all the renters out and then do into default? I guess they want us to default instead of making the payments...we have our back up against the wall and have little to no choice here...any advice?

I have been with everhome mortage for about 2/1/2 years they purcahse my mortage from another company, that went out of business, I lost my job and I have been 1 month behind on my mortage for a long time and I don't have the money to pay them up front, They were suppose to keep me up on what my insurance and property taxes should be, but they did not so escrot was behind and house note went from 856 to 1152 for 16 month and they wanted me to do a repayment plan but I refused. and requested to modify the loan but they wanted me to do a repayment plan, I got a prefore closer note, and I guess it was becasue today I owe for April and on May 15th I will owe for May. This will be 2mths behind but I will make another payment on April 30th.
I called them asked for refused for them getting paid to keep me up on what I should have to pay and this was not done. They asked me to faxed the paper and I will and I am going to their CEO because this is not fair to me. I will be back to my regular house note in March of 2010. I know that the government does not know what they are doing and I am going to find a way some how and let this be known. Just think how many people has lost their home behind Everhome BS.

I tried to get a loan modification from this ridiculous company and I soon realized that they are a company that is part of this Economical downfall and greed. My income has decreased tremendously and after proving that with pay stubs, bank staments, credit card debt, etc. they denied me without lifting a finger. They wanted to see all of this information to tell me that I of course can afford their payment but nothing else. I have gone in circles with their ignorant workers and I have yet to find someone with some knowledgeable information. I wish they would have never bought this loan from my original lender because they have been hell to work with. I, like many other Americans, am trying to save my one and only home, but they make it very difficult and very unreasonable to do so.

Back on track, I really don't know why they approved me for my loan mod. maybe because i owed 24,000 and and all. Paid my first mortage payment to them 6/1, so I am back to normal.. They weren't easy to work with though. I still don't trust them. I hope I never have to deal with them ever again. I feel for everyone who has dealt or will be dealing with these incompetant people. My payment however did go up 100 dollars more a month. but I guess that is the price I must pay for the loan mod since I had backpay that I owed them. Good luck to you all i hope things will work out for you.

I am experiencing problems with the company as well. I decided to look them up and wow, it seems as if this is common. I have asked to be refinanced due to hardship. Unfortunately my payment will only decrease by $111.00 dollars a month. In addition, my loan reverts back to the original loan amount.
I asked for a loan modification. The rep was very short, rude. He stated that a loan modification would affect my credit. O.KKKK (Is this suppose to be helpful) I asked him how and he could not explain. In fact he appeared to be offended that I inquired about it. He just referred me to the website. But, I would like to know how this is going to impact it. But, I do have a FHA loan. They will get their money either way. So much for helping.

We losto ur home as well threw everhome. Said they would mofiy our loan got our hopes up and then denied us in 30min after receiving our paperwork. Erica in the loss midigation department was very nice and could not believe how this company is treating people. If anyone is trying to do a loan modification to avoid foreclosure dont waste you time. Call a florclosure attorney right away.
If you currently have a mortage with Everhome....PLEASE get your loan moved at a reputable BANK!! Everhome is not a bank it is a loan processing company. Make sure the bank you go to keeps their loans in house and does not sell them off. Usually a locally owned bank does this. It is too late for our family we have lost our home but I hope I can help someone else from loosing their home!!

I have been working with Everhome Mortgage for over a year now. I was out of work for almost one year. I was still able to make my payment to Everhome Mortgage.

Everhome was applying my payments to the wrong account or something. I was informed that I was behind four payments on my mortgage. I ask how could this be and what happen to my money and payments?

I have sent in to Everhome Mortgage over $6300 in the past year trying to bring my mortgage current. That was not enough for Everhome Mortgage and the letters has not stop coming to me.

I have been working with the Loss Litigation Dept and they are the worst representatives in the company. They offer NO resloutions to the problem at all.I have sent in (2) Loss Litigation packages detailing my finanical situation. I was told by the same representative that reviewed my package twice that it would not work.

This Everhome Mortgage rep is the worst as well. It took her two(2)months to decline my first package and 15mins to delcine my 2nd package. The only advice that she was able to provide to me was to sell my house a short sell for that part.I would be held liable for the remaining amount of the loan.

I have been in my house since 2002 and that is seven(7)years to date. She simply told me to get out of the house because I cant afford the house. I told this rep (Everhome)that affording the house is not the problem here.

The problem here the poor customer service and bad advice coming from a mortgage company that is losing more than a house. My home value has drop to over 50% in vlaue. My house is was purchased in 2002 over 130k and now it only worth 45k. It would benefit Everhome here if they work with customers on the exsistng mortgage loan. The Loan is stillin place and current with Everhome mortgage. Everhome Mortgage is still able to recoup the full value of the home loan and not the depreciated value of the home.

I was able to print out a complete year of my payments to Everhome Mortgage. I was able to go back into the previous year. I was able to see all my payments to Everhome mortgage and not a recorded missed payment for that entire year exsisted on the report.

My question to Everhome Mortgage; When do you say the customer is more valuable in the home or out of the home? When is your tactics here worth the problem of removing people out of their homes, that are paying their mortgage payment or attempting to pay their mortgages here.

People working their butts off to keep the home and willing to stay in the home. I feel that Everhome Mortgage is acting like a Subprime lender and forcing people out of their homes. If Everhome Mortgage is not a Subprime lender then they have Customer Representatives that are giving the preception that Everhome Mortgage is a Subprime lender.

EVERHOME IS MAKING SOME BIG MISTAKES, TWO OWNERS OF A TWO FAMILY HOUSE, AND EVERHOME NEVER LET THE OTHER OWNER KNOW THERE WAS LATE PAYMENTS AND NOW IN FORECLOSEUR, EVERHOME DEALT WITH ONE OWNER WHICH IS MENTALLY ILL AND ON DRUGS. BUT IT IS GOING TO COST MORE FOR THEM AFTER I GET DONE WITH THEM.

My Mtg was sold to Everhome in December of 2008. I have had nothing but problems with them. I had worked out a payment plan with my previous mtg company with our late taxes to be paid off in six months. Everhome took the mtg and added on the taxes, insurance, and back taxes which brought my pmt from $1339.00 to $3500.00/month. There was NO way I could afford this so they agreed in May to rewrite the loan. It took until August for them to even get the papers to me all the while the mtg is showing late killing our credit. In August we signed the papers and sent them a bank check, my mtg was then decreased to $2173.00 a month. I have been paying this every month but Everhome has not actually re-written the loan, they say they have no rec'd the "investors" money yet. So, they are cashing my checks each month and STILL showing me as late. Yesterday I rec'd a certified letter saying I was in default. I have 30days to come up with the additional $6000.00 they say I owe or I will be forclosed on. WTF? I don't hae enough equity to refinance the house yet but I want to do it through a local bank and combine both 1st and 2nd mtg's. Why are these ppl allowed to conduct business in this manner. I called NH Housing authority and they say they cannot do anything..Well, who the hell can?

My loan has been sold 3 times since Feb. 2009 currently, I am with Everhome Mortgage (since 08-09) and I have made double house payments (20 payments in 11 months) with the understanding that the extra payment was going to prinicpal the entire time they have been applying my payment to principal and INTEREST. I want them to change all they extra payments to principal and they won't. I don't owe a payment until Oct. 1, 2010. I can't ever get ahold of anyone. I get put on hold while uneducated clerks look for the answer to my question. WORST company ever!!

I feel your pain, all of you. I was fortunate enough to find a company that is legitimate. Now I know that the banks the news and government say we shouldn’t go to any company that charges, that the banks will modify your loans for free. Well, how many of us on here have had our loans modified by the banks?

A lot have lost their homes, and lot more still will unless you do what’s necessary to save your homes from the banks. I went through what most of you have, I was there. Then I was referred.

I know I would have lost it to Wachovia if it wasn’t for him and the rest of the people who work there. Got me caught up on my mortgage 1st & 2nd, lowered my interested rate & payment.

Before anyone else on here loses their homes you need to give them a call. Don’t be afraid of hiring a loan modification company, be afraid of the banks, they are the ones who are taking our homes!

I know they get the job done. News and TV made me afraid to even consider a loan modification company because they are all scams and my lender will do it for free (wrong). There hasn't been not one story about a good company and when I tried to contact my local news channel they told me that my success story wasn't news (What!)

So, I am making it my mission to spread the word on this GREAT company!

Doris E and Doris S applied for a load mofication. 65,000. 10.875%. Joint ownership, $56,000 check came in both our names, We signed we cashed,We made home improvement, year later Doris S got laid off, We tried for almost 2 years to get it modify, they said the loan was made to me (mother) Doris E. I said, while all the loan paper requried both our name and signature as well as the check. Chase said i was denide the modoifcation because i didn't live at the house, I said my daughter does, and she is laid off and she is/was responsible for the loan too, why don't you guys have her down as a co-borrow. 56,000 with a 10.875 % interest rate. I see why CHASE doesn't want to help her. I need an attorney who can help me make Chase accountable.

I wanted to take a brief moment and thank everyone that took the time to comment on such a predatory lender! It may have saved me some time and energy. I have been trying to process a loan modification since April. I have turned in the Make home's affordable package three times and still they are requesting already documented information. I must say that I am a very detailed person and they had a complete package each time. I find out Sept 1 from one of their reps that I didn't qualify for the Making homes Gov. plan because I had refinanced with Everhome Jan 09. For everyone's information and to hopefully save you time if your loan was made after 2008, the government plan is of no help. This being said, they are still processing it under that plan instead of the in house program. That's right, months later, they are dragging their feet on a plan they no is not for me. I even went to the extent of having one of the making homes affordable reps phone conference with me and Everhome. He was very spirited in telling them to stop delaying that I did not qualify for the Gov. plan and they needed to proceed in house. Everhome refused and said it would be handled in due process but they would not expedite. Even when I returned one of their support staff's calls they refused to put me through saying "Our inside support reps do not take in coming calls!" Please keep in mind I have been working on this since April and it has yet to go to an underwriter in order to see work out options. The blog posts that you have posted save me time, money, anxiety, etc. by seeing if I was even fortunate enough to get to underwriting, I may be partially modified and then they just kick me out three months down the road when my credit is ruined and they re-evaluate. Thank you again for your selfless gesture of sharing your experience. I plan to mail the keys to them. Congratulations Everhome! You now have yet another place to live!

MY HUSBAND HAD A HEART ATTACK 3 YEARS AGO. LEAVING HIM DISABLED ALONG WITH TAKING OVER 3/4 OF OUR INCOME. ALONG WITH THIS I DO NOT GET ANY HELP WITH HIS CAREGIVING THAT I HAVE TO HAVE WHILE TRYING TO WORK. EVERHOME WILL NOT TAKE ANY PARTIAL PAYMENT EITHER. I HAVE TRIED TWICE GETTING A LOAN MODIFICATION WITH EVERHOME, SENT IN THE PAPER WORK. I HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN SAYING THAT I HAVE ENOUGH INCOME. THE PAPERWORK SHOWS THAT MY DEBT RATIO IS HIGHER THAN MY INCOME. THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO GET BEHIND IN MY PAYMENTS AND THEN THEY WOULD SEE WANT THEY COULD DO BUT THERE WOULD BE NO GUARNATEE THAT THEY WOULD HELP. THEY WANT TO RUIN A PERSON CREDIT. IT IS JUST AMAZING TO ME THAT WHEN A PESON IS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING THAT YOU CANNOT GET NO HELP. AFTER READING THESE COMMENTS I SEE THAT THEY IS PROBABLY NO HELP FOR ME EITHER. I HOPE THEY HAVE GOOD LUCK OF KEEPING ALL THESE HOMES FOR THEMSELVES AND PUTTING PEOPLE THAT ARE HARDWORKING AND HAVE FELL ON HARDTIMES OUT OF THERE HOMES. THEY CAN LAY DOWN AND SLEEP GOOD AT NIGHT I GUESS
