Does anyone know what this new Obama plan to stop foreclosure will do for me?

February 25, 2009

We have tried to work with Litton on a loan mod but they keep turning us down and do not give us a reason, They told us to send 4000.00 dollars and sign up for a repayment plan then when the Obama plan comes out we can try for a new modification. we do not know what else to do

The Obama plan will not work for stopping foreclosure. I have tried many avenues. The OSC, Hope Now, the bank, real estate agents, mortgage companies. I have been fighting all the way. Don't give up and don't move out of your home even after foreclosure.

Fight, Fight, Fight because the government, the banks, loan modification people will take your money. If the bank wants to do a modification, tell them to send you the terms in writing. Do not trust them.

I am an attorney here in Florida, and I've been doing foreclosure defense now for about 2 1/2 years now. We recently finished a loan modification with Litton that had been in the works for several months. They sent us the modification paperwork first, then requested all the financials in order to prove client could make the payments. It was a long, frustrating road, but this morning, we were told it was finally approved. Lowered total mortgage from 200k to 130k, and lowered interest rate to about 6% from 8+%. Keep fighting and keep calling them. If you're not being approved, it's probably because you're listing more expenses than income. Banks need to see that it's pretty much in balance, and that you're not negative by more than about $500 a month.
Good luck and keep fighting!

We were only one month behind on our adjustable rate payment when I tried to get Litton to modify our loan and all they did was give me the run-around! I couldn’t believe it when the guy on the phone (he was a big jerk!) actually said that my family shouldn’t eat so much because then we would spend less on groceries and would have more money to make our mortgage payment! He also said we should get a cheaper car and a bunch of other stuff that was really rude. This whole thing was keeping me up at night worrying about what was going to happen to us. I told my friend at work about this and she said I should call the loan modification company that got her loan modified down to 3.25% fixed interest rate! I finally decided to call them, and in about 45 days they got my interest rate down to 3.85% on a fixed rate too! The company is First American Financial Group and we are really happy with what they did for us. The website is theloanmodfacts.com. We chose them because they didn’t make a bunch of promises like some of the other companies and they had a 100% money back guarantee. I hope this helps some other people fighting with their loan company!

Apparently, either way, if my trial modification IS EVER FINALIZED, Litton will seek to add all the difference between these months, and months between the modified amount and the trial payment amount ON TO WHAT THEY ARE "OWED" how is it I would OWE litton money for house insurance that I PAY MYSELF?! And have continued to pay myself during the loan modification? There's a question, I have.
AND of course, by stalling and NOT sending the FINALIZED modification, the amounts that I would NOT be paying to Litton ALL REMAIN DUE AND MOUNTING, MONTH AFTER MONTH AFTER MONTH.
Meanwhile their fax machine, must be attached to a shredder?
WHERE IS MY FINALIZED AGREEMENT? If I never get that, then of course, I've been engineered right into having my home auctioned out from under me. I will keep you posted. I wish Washington would WAKE UP and put protections for the homeowner who in good faith and against ALL odds, is trying to get Litton Loans to FINALIZE A MODIFICATION. The stories are very disheartening, where the modification gets denied, without even a cause given and the home is sold at an auction and then of course Litton and their investors, cry about the money they lost. Well here is a NOVEL thought, the person LIVING there values it MORE than others do, even in the face of falling property prices, thanks to banks taking but failing to MOVE the houses down the street. SO, if they were smart they'd TRY to work with the homeowner, but then with Uncle Sam, offering to help them with all these LOSSES, why not just engineer MORE OF 'EM! Instead of FINALIZING THE MODIFICATION, just get rid of the only person who WANTS the house.

Well, my saga drags on with Litton.
Apparently they take the OBAMA BUCKS and run, and hide out under Deutche Bank protection from EVER GIVING THE HOMEOWNERS A FINAL MODIFICATION AGREEMENT.

They get the money for the TRIAL MOD, BIG MISTAKE, FEDS.
Of course, they are apparently all one and the same, there are those TOO BIG TO FAIL, and the rest of us TOO SMALL TO MATTER.
