Why does it take so long to get an answer from EMC

May 05, 2008

I contacted EMC Modification Department in January 2008 about ARM increase due to take effect in March 2008 and that there would be no way I could make the new payments.I was told by EMC Modification Agent Cory/Tamara that Modification paperwork would be sent to me in 2-3 business days. Just fill out form and fax completed form to phone number listed on letter. After waiting 10 days, I called EMC and was told by another agent that all she can do is resend letter and I should get that one in 2-3 business days. I called EMC back again after 3 days and was told the same comment. EMC blamed my postal carrier/post office for service. I was told all they could do is regenerate letter and it will take 2-3 business days to get to me.

I have been trying with EMC for a year and a half for a loan modification. I 7 years I never missed a payment, was never late. I requested a loan mod prior to the first adjustment. I continued to make the adjusted payment as long as I had OT avail at work, and rented rooms out. When it adjusted up to what I take home, they told me to get a second job. I sent and resent paperwork to them because they were always saying that they either did not get it or I was missing some. Now my home is in foreclosure. I paid a loan modification specialist $2000 of the money that I had been putting aside for a reasonable mortgage payment. EMC has not responded to them either, AND the loan modifications attorney has not done anything to expedite anything, nor have they contacted me or let me know what is going on. So that was just $2000.00 out the window. I am an older woman, I do not want to lose my home and I would have no where to go. I am really scared. I know many people that are in the same situation with EMC, all getting the same runaround. EMC is not helping anyone, they are just trying to get back the missed payments, than your back in the same situation after 6 months.

I was also told that they did not recieve my documents, send them again. I faxed, mailed, sent certified letter. When I finally stopped making the payment they have called me at least 3 times a day. When I finally got through to a so called Loan Mod Specialist at EMC, all they offered me was a payment $60.00 less than the adjusted amount to pay back the missed payments. My payment went from $1300 a month to $1762 a month, than 6 months later $2000. (I only net $2000 a month). My home is now worth $121,000 less than what I owe on it. The so called Loan Mod person at EMC was totally inexperienced and did not seem to have a clue about mortgages or home values across the country. When I told her that they are just going to end up with ANOTHER empty house with NO payments or ability to sell she just told me, "well than have a nice day" and hung up.

We are senior citizens who after re-financing are trying to come up with almost $2,000 a month,I only get 650;00 a month from the government, and my husband hardlyt makes $2,00 a month, we have gone without so many times to come up with this high amount, and we know that we will probably lose out home in the next three months, is there anything we can do to make sure that the embarrassment of our
names are not entered into the newspapers,we are struggling enough with losing our home, and its harder to accept the re-jection of our neighbors,Please help us......

Anyone looking for a Loan Modification seeking first reliable trustworthy specialist? We can get a rate lowered, payment lowered, forgive past lates and fees and even may reduce principal on mortgage. As long as the sheriff sale has not taken place I can help you save your home. If you have been on time or get behind I can get you a rate no higher than 5% and as low a 2%. Any situation that shows a hardship as well, can be done.

We were only one month behind on our adjustable rate payment when I tried to get them to modify our loan and all they did was give me the run-around! I couldn’t believe it when the guy on the phone (he was a big jerk!) actually said that my family shouldn’t eat so much because then we would spend less on groceries and would have more money to make our mortgage payment! He also said we should get a cheaper car and a bunch of other stuff that was really rude. This whole thing was keeping me up at night worrying about what was going to happen to us. I told my friend at work about this and she said I should call the loan modification company that got her loan modified down to 3.25% fixed interest rate! I finally decided to call them, and in about 45 days they got my interest rate down to 3.85% on a fixed rate too! The company is American Foreclosure Specialists and we are really happy with what they did for us. The website is afscanhelp.com. We chose them because they didn’t make a bunch of promises like some of the other companies and they had a 100% money back guarantee. I hope this helps some other people fighting with their loan company!

Does anyone know how long it takes EMC to actually give you a date to vacate your home once you have started to miss payments? Three months? Five months? Ten months?
We are losing our home to foreclosure and trying to plan our next move but we have no idea how long we have in our home until they give us a notice to vacate
