Hope Now should be called No Hope Now...
After 5 letters, at least 6 calls, and always being put on hold, I finally got a hold of somebody from Citi Residential Lending/AMC. Also, through a letter from them, and HopeNow. We were treated very unfair, and cheated out of a second chance to homeownership. When I finally did get help from somebody, I was totally brushed off. After what my husband and I went through losing our home, we will never own another home. The stress, emotions, guilt, pressure, intimidation, scared feeling of helplessness and loss, is just too much to go through again. We loved our home very much and owned it with pride. When we were hit with a double financial hardship, no one, nobody from the mortgage company would help us, or care to even listen to our story to what had led to our disaster of financial distress. When I did finally speak to MB, I explained it all to her and submitted all the documents she asked me for to prove that our hardship has ended, she told me that I would hear from them in about 6-8 weeks. Well, I never heard a word, until a sign was posted on my homes front window, "No Trespassing!". Property of Whittman Realty Company. "This property will be for sale in the near future". Citi, sold our home right out from under us. No one even told us about this or nothing. We never even got a second chance to get the loan modification she offered to us. I think this is terrible, and that they can get away with this. Why would she tell me about getting this loan modification, and then not even try to contact us? I also told her that I finally received my hearing case for my disability benefits. Our financial hardship was over, and they still got away with OUR home! We were treated very unfair. I don't think there is nothing that can be done now, the house belongs to a realty company. Thank you for listening. Sincerely, A very broken-hearted husband & wife

I do advise all of you, whatever property you purchase make sure you have a comprehensive home inspection performed. Everything from foundation, roofs, electrical, plumbing, heating and AC should be checked by a reputable company. And Find your own inspector! Don't always trust your agent's referral guy. Make sure you see a sample of an inspection report first before hiring your inspector.
