From a divorce to an ARM, it just keeps getting better
I have been in the house since 1994, I had refinanced due to a divorce 2 times and had an ARM. I refinanced in OCT 2006 to get to a fixed rate, but at that time the payment was more than I could handle but also knew the ARM would be worse. The mortgage co split my mortgage into 2 parts to make me qualify. I have been trying to work with my mortgage company. They wanted $3600 in 2 weeks time, to modify my mortgage down to $1551. Unfortunately the money I was counting on from tax refund and stimulus combined has not come through when it should have. We received a letter from an attorney representing OCWEN stating the are beginning foreclosure process, but I haven't seen letter with a date of a Sheriff's sale. My husband currently has 2 homes listed and I believe we will get back on our feet. My husband was unemployed as of 11/2006. We cashed in stocks to have him go through real estate school. After he was licensed the housing crisis happened and he has made only $4000 since Nov 2006. I tried to refinance through the company OCWEN had me go to, but Countrywide would not consider it due to a low credit rating brought on by the late mortgage payments. Thank you
