Can we extend the life of the loan with Litton

This is my dads house, he is 74 and has worked everyday of his life until he was injured, so he is having a hardship at this time but my husband is navy and we can make the payments just not the past due pymts and fees, until daddy can wk again, the pymt is 414.73 + 192.56, we want a morg. modification, extend the 8yrs to ???? to solve the problem and start new start in july if possible, we r stationed in ca and I have to budget.

you can ask the bank to put the debt on the back of the loan or some times they even forgive you for the whole amount just by giving a small down payment.There is no way you can extend the life of the loan with a modification, unless you refinance the house. Litton is a flexible bank, but you have to be careful on the amount of income you give vs your expenses. In this case make it 100 or 200 hundred more than expenses only.
i had a similar experience i my life.. its just too tough to handle..
better you go for refinance ..
