I need my payments lowerd

April 10, 2008

I would like to do a loan modification on my current loan. The reason for us falling behind is that my husband had a stroke (he is not on the loan) and we went through all of our savings and I was only working part time to care for him. He is now stable and I am back to work full time. My mortgage was $2000 a month and I tried to refi before it adjusted in Dec but the property values had gone down where I still would have owed 10,000 on my current loan. I would really love to lower my payments and keep my home.

I would like to modify my loan and lower my mortgage payment. I have gone up in debt and my tenant has not paid rent. It has been a difficult time for me. I tried speaking with someone at Wilshire and they said they do not have this program? What can I do? I am in Default for 1 payment behind. Please help

I am also going through a forclosure with Wilshire and have tried to work out something with them to stay in my house they are not willing to help, nor do they care. These people sit in their little cubilcles and do not give a Shit. I am a single parent with two kids and work full time. I fell behind on my payment with the birth on my second son. I would like to keep my house, but like many other people in this day and age will probably been thrown out on my ear.

What is wrong with the goverment these poor people are loosing homes because of this poorly unproffesional mortgage company (wilshire)Know Family should have to worry about loosing there home. Wilshire mortgage should be ashamed of them selfs forclosing peoples homes and not willing to help people stay in their homes I hope wilshire gets what they deserve for the way they treat otheres. We are in the process with several Lawyers to stop this company from lies and scams. This company will no longer be in buisness soon beleive me.

First of all Wilshire is not a Mortgage company, they are a loan servicer. Maybe you should do your research a little better before you go around slandering a company name. Also, I ask you Is if Wilshire's fault that you cannot make your mortgage payments? Maybe you should quit pointing fingers in other directions and start pointing them at yourselves. I understand people have fell on hard times in this crazy market, I have been there myself. However, I also know that it is not the loan companies faults for the situation I may be in. They are there to do their jobs. Also remember this, Wilshire did not force you to sign loan documents for a loan you probably could not have afforded in the first place. If you want to blame someone for that, again I say point the finger at yourselves. And seriously people start to take some responsibility for your own actions!!!!!!

They are horible. I have tried working with them for many months, since they never would work up a loan modification, I just sent in partial payments, but they stopped accepting them. I am now going to court ordered mediation, I hope that helps. I could afford the loan, and still can if they would just tack on the few payments I missed because of unforseen circumstances, to the end of my loan and give me a lower interest rate. No one forced my to sign the papers, but they really need to work with families to help them keep their homes.

I can afford my payments...NOW. Apparently I had the wool pulled over my eyes when I, like many, re-financed 2 years ago after finding my self in a poor situation, job loss. So, in rebuttle to Peggy's rant, in some cases it is accurate to point fingers in Wilshire's way. I did not CHOOSE to lose my job nor did I have any options when re-financing. My loan got sold to Wilshire and now they will not help out with interest rate or lowering payments. My interest will go up in one year and I'll be in the same boat as many other Americans. Peggy must work for Wilshire because I can not imagine any human being with a heart coming on this page just to insult people who are in unfortunate situations.

is Wilshire owned by Merrilynch? and with this recent economical crisis right now what happens? Can i get my mortgate frozen now or lowered? since Merrilynch will be owned by Bank Of America?
Posted By rob on September 17, 2008 at 02:09 AM
Wilshire is owned my Merrill Lynch. Merrill Lynch is being acquired by BofA. This being said, it will not change the day-to-day operations of Wilshire. If I were in a situation where I was closing in on foreclosure again, (I was) I'd 1) Contact my servicer and ask specifically what they need to work up a plan and what are the timelines 2) Provide all information via Fax and certified mail 3) Follow up 4) Read ALL DOCS once you receive them 5) If the timeline is not met and/or you want additional help, contact a 3rd party modification team for help. No one in this economy wants another foreclosure, but you (the homeowner) need to be as proactive as possible to make things work. Think about it this way: If you have 500 loans sitting on your desk, which one will you work on first? The one with every bit of info and a customer who has followed up or the customer who sent in half the items and will sit back and wait for you to call? I have been a sales rep for years and my best attack plan has always been to be the easiest part of someone's day.

ha ha peggy

First of all, (peggy) it is not our responsibility to fully understand the jargon these crooked mortgage brokers with only commission on their minds. I am a hair stylist, and thats where my education and training is, so when people ask me about shampoo or hair cuts, I don't just give them some lousy unclear information, I explain in detail so they understand exactly what they are getting! Same goes for a friggin mortgage- the biggest purchase of your life!!!!
Screw you, Wilshire and Lynch, you bunch of thieves! I hope that hole company goes under!

I have been dealing with Wilshire the the past 3 months to get my loan changed to a rate which is more in Line. I now pay 9.65 I have been calling every week with no end in site. I just talked to them and was informed they are not going to change it. I can not understand how with the way things are now they can justify such a high rate. Their parent company Bank of America just got money from the Goverment but it appears it will no funnel down to the people who need it. I see no other options for me except to let the loan go bad and we all lose.

I to am having a problem with Wilshire. We have been customers with them for 4 years now. Back in August 08, they were only able to freeze my current intrest rate 7.325. My mortage payment if $5,300.00 per month on a 1500 square foot house. We have been struggling to continue with this mortage payment. My mother-in-law recently passed away and my husbands small business is slow the WHOLE ECONOMY is slow. I just sent them a letter asking them to lower the rate just lower it alittle so that we can stay in the home that we love. I have yet to hear from them, and I probally won't! But we are slipping behind I dont understand why they wont help us. I'm getting sick over this dam house and all of us should not be treated like this because we can afford our homes just lower the rate alittle. WHY WONT THEY HELP??

the only way to deal with them is only with a well versed real state attorney.....thaat is the only way you might get their attention....get the department of real estate and thrift and supervision to check out any violations as well.... keep the heat on them!!!!!

We were two month behind on our adjustable rate payment when I tried to get them to modify our loan and all they did was give me the run-around! I couldn’t believe it when the guy on the phone actually said that my family shouldn’t eat so much because then we would spend less on groceries and would have more money to make our mortgage payment! What a jerk! He also said we should get a cheaper car and a bunch of other stuff that was really rude. Come to find out the loan modification they were going to give us was a just Forbearance Agreement and all it was going to do was add the payments we were behind on to the back of my loan. Since our interest rate was going to stay the same, this would actually make my payment go up! THAT’S what got me into this mess in the first place! My payments are too high! This whole thing was keeping me up at night worrying about what was going to happen to us. I told my friend at work about this and she said I should call the loan modification company that got her loan modified down to 3.75% fixed interest rate! I decided to call them, and in about 45 days they got my interest rate down to 4.35% and it’s a fixed rate too! The company is First American Financial Group and we are really happy with what they did for us. The website is, w. w. w. TheLoanModFacts . com. We went with them because they have attorneys on staff to make sure the banks do the best they can and they have a 100% money back guarantee. I hope this helps some other people fighting with their loan company! Don’t give up and don’t be intimidated by your mortgage company!
