Received a notice from the Sheriff
Rec'd notice of Sheriff's sale yesterday, scheduled for April 15th. The appraisal on the notice was for $30,000 less than the loan. ($119k) I talked to an appraiser just last month, as well as a Realtor, who both said the least it should be was $147,000 ($70 sq ft) I have tried very often to get through on the phone with Countrywide, sometimes on hold for 2 hours!, then get cut off and have to start all over again. One day I spent 6 hours trying to get through. Meanwhile, we have not attempted further payments. An inspector, sent by Countrywide came by the house today to check occupancy status. He at least gave me a name and tel number for the person making the request. (Michele Langley - 800-669-0102 BTW, the plaintiff in the foreclosure was NOT Countrywide, but rather The Bank of New York, if that makes any difference. I'm told it might. I've been in this house for almost 20 years and do not wish to leave. Medical expenses got us behind and that fact was submitted (by fax) months ago to Countrywide when they wanted verification of income in our request for a modification.
