My sale date is 2 days away

March 25, 2008

I have a sale date of march 27, 2008. I cannot get anyone of authority at Countrywide. I have been promised a repayment plan but no one returns my calls with authority. I have called 38 times. I have been told there have been several people assigned to my case. They cannot tell me if my repayment plan is approved. They don't know who the team leader is. It is 38,000 to reinstate. Help. The property is in Arizona. I just need some time to find out what they are going to do. I have been in contact with them since December. I am given voice mails but no one returns the calls. They say they can postpone the sale, but it has not been done.

I read the comment regarding my sale date is 2 days away and have been in the same situation. My husband and I had fallen behind in our payments for a number of reasons back in 2006. Back then we called Countrywide to speak to someone about filing a repayment loan. We were transferred to the work out department and was connected to a voicemail. We left a message for them to call us back and what number they could reach us back. They never called us on the number we left but did call our home number and left us a message to call them back. Everytime we returned their call we always received the voicemail. This went on for several months. Recently I received a mailing stating what our new interest rate was going to be therefore changing our mortgage payment. I called Countrywide when I received this information which was April 7, 2008 to find out the status of our loan. At that time I was informed that our house was in foreclosure and set to sell on April 15, 2008. That was the first time that we were notified of the foreclosure. I have called them everyday since then. A negotiator (Avita) has been assigned to my account however I never get to speak directly to her. I always have to speak to a customer service representative. The first and only time I spoke to the negotiator (Avita) she was very rude. She said that the previous time we tried to set up a repayment that we were declined. I called Countrywide again today and had to speak to a customer service representative (Chad) and he said that we had been approved for a repayment plan in December and February that we were approve for but that we were then declined because we never called back. I told Chad that we called back but always connected to the voicemail. I then stated that this could have been taken care of back in December and he said yes.

I am in almost the same vote Countrywide is and has been giving us the run around and other lenders say they can't help because we are late on mortgage and other payments, we have been trying to sale since Dec but were we live not to many are interested we have had no calls on house so we took it off and was told this would help us with refi but no luck. What do we do???

I am in the same situation with Countrywide. I fell behind on my payments. In Sept of 2007 I was served with foreclosure paperwork. I immediately called and requested assistance. I was told I would have an answer within 2 weeks. When I hadn't heard anything 3 weeks later I called, but was told my case had not been reviewed yet. I began calling every 3 days for the next 2 weeks until I was asked to stop calling. Two months went by before I finally heard from them. I was told that my case was finally being "looked at" and that so long as I met the requirements I would be approved for a loan modification. I began calling bout every other week for the next two months, only to be told there ahd not been a decision made. Finally in Feb 2008 My loan counselor called and said I had been approved and would be getting paperwork to be completed and returned in a few days. Two weeks later I received a telewire notice that I had to return the paperwork or I would be disqualified from the modification. I had not received the paperwork at this point. When I called and asked I was told the papers had not been sent, and no one could tell me why not, or even when they would be. Finally a month and a half AFTER being approved I got the paperwork, filled it out and sent it back within two days. About a week later I got ANOTHER telewire stating the paperwork had not been received. I immediately called and was told that I was supposed to have gotten two sets of documents, but again no one could tell me when or even IF the other set would be sent. When I asked about my "loan counselor" I was told I had two (not what I was told originally) and that the person I was originally told was my counselor was NOT. So now it is the beginning of May 2008 and my sale date is June 6. I did finally get a call from my loan counselor asking for my financial information which I have given 6 times in the last 8 months, and has not changed. During the conversation I asked to be sent information on the pay off for my loan. Instead I was sent a letter informing me that Countrywide has decided they will not be able to assist me in this matter. Now I don't know what Im going to do. Im a single mom,who is loosing my home in 17 days. IS there enough time to do a quick sale? I am going to retain an attorney to file bankruptcy today or tomorrow, but will I be able to stay in my house long enough to find someplace else to live? I am truly at a loss....
