They stop sending me statements... I thought they forgot about me
January 02, 2008
I got behind on my mortgage payments this last year due to being laid off from my job and other financial problems that came up. I got behind by 2 or 3 payments but the mortgage company stop sending me statements in October 2007. Also, I do not escrow my taxes and was behind on those as well and the county contacted the mortgage company and they paid all the back taxes as well as the current 2007 taxes which amounts to over $6000. I did not become aware of this until about 2 weeks ago and now they are planning on foreclosing on my property soon.

I also got behind on my mortgage in october 2007, I did not receive 1 single piece of paper from WAMU until Feb.2008, and those were foreclosure papers. I have been talking to a loss mitigation rep and I keep sending the paperwork she asks for, but she keeps telling me she hasn't gotten it. They also have my income and bill totals backwards and refuse to believe me, even though I have sent stacks of paperwork to prove this. When I call they seem sincere and say they would like to work this out with me, but I need to send in 2 months rent. I have agreed to do this if they will send me paperwork stating that they are halting foreclosure and a contract as to the repayment setup, but they refuse to do this.
WaMu sent stmt in Dec increasing pmts to escrow by $366 MORE per MONTH beginning Jan 2008. They stated the increase was to cover property taxes. My taxes had in fact been reduced due to a correction in the occupancy status so I asked them to adjust their escrow demand accordingly. Jan 11, 2008 I received a letter from WaMu stating "We're happy to inform you that your tax issue has been resolved." Tens of calls later and the escrow demand was not reduced and I was forced into "default" on my loan. As usual, again & again they would claim to not receive all paperwork necessary to initiate a pmt plan. Again, they were to send more paperwork telling me what I still needed to send them. Instead, three weeks later, I was served foreclosure papers. All because they screwed up the escrow and couldn't fix their mistake. They're one company that I will never deal with again once this mess is cleaned up. And now it'll cost me an add'l $2000 that WaMu is billing me for lawyers/fees because of foreclosure. I have rec'd an overage stmt since indicating $1700 in escrow over the minimum balance required thru 2009.
