Does HOMEQ have the abilty to help us avoid foreclosure?

January 07, 2008

While we haven't made an on-time payment since July, we have yet to go 30-days late on any payment. On the last day of each month, we're making the mortgage payment, along with late fees. We'd love to have the payment amount folded into our outstanding balance, thus making us current. More importantly however, we would prefer to find a way to reduce our mortgage payment to $3000-$3400 each month, which puts us in a more stable financial position. Is this possible with our lender?

Can HomeQ help people with modification our loan?
Posted By Frank Andrade on January 28, 2008 at 11:59 AM
I tried to do a loan modification with them and I had to jump through about 50 hoops to finally talk to the right person, and they turned me down because I don't make enough money after my rate went up... They are the worst mortgage company, they won't put you through to the right person, you have to wait for them to call you. All I have to say is good luck

They are dirty bunch to deal with.
I had a loan with them. I sent them 2 payment by 2 day mail. I glad i hung on my record of sending it. They tried to foreclose on my house. But a lawyer stop it.
best thing to do is keep all your records. or they will take your house

I have spent months trying to get a loan modification, with no sucess. They kept telling me that they do not offer that as an option. I finally was forced into a bankruptcy that ultimately will only help if I can modify my loan. Who do you need to talk to at HomeQ about this.

Good luck with home eq. I have had a several diffrent payment plans with them andthey honor none of them. They change their story, and will not give youcopies of phone call transcripts. I was forced to file bankruptcybecause of them, and they are still making motions withthecourt saying I have not mademy payments which is not the case. They have now refused to take my payments, send me a statement telling me how much my payment is or even speak to me. I live everyday worrying about if they will take my home!

Homeq is one of the worse mortgage companies out there. They are no better thatn your average thug loan shark. I am starting a website geared specifically towards Homeq in an effort to bring these pigs down. They don't deserve to operte in the USA. Please contact me at sabrinacurtiss@live.com for further information.

Firstly, excuse my type errors in my last blog, but spell check was not an option. Anyway, Hands Helping Homeowners will help you complie your information regarding your experiences with Homeq. Stick to the point and leave out emotions(save your emotions for sites like this!). If you are serious about being heard, send your complaint to hh_4h@live.com along with a way for you to be contacted. If you want to be taken seriously then you have to be willing to put in the effort. I'm devoting several hours of my time a week to this endeavor because I believe in it.
I know what my loan documents said, but I didn't ask for my loan to be sold to Homeq. I've owned my home for over 7 years. Again, if you are serious, please send a letter of complaint to hh_4h@live com so that we can do something regarding Homeq's unwillingness to work with so many families to keep them in their homes. Thank you again and I hope to hear from all of you.

I am with HOMEQ and they are taking my home. I am told something different each time I call. I DO NOT trust them. I am frustrated. I can't believe these people can get away with it.

I hate HomeQ. I got breast cancer & got behind on payments in 2008. They gave me a repayment plan of $1580.00 per month(BIG HELP, HUH?). I made the payments, but sent $1508.00 instead of $1580.00 one month(on accident. Got letter stating Repayment Plan no longer good & they wanted all the money or would take my home. I have been in my house for over 11 Years & I wish this company would go out of businesss!!!! Now, I've had to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy & included the house due to all my medical bills. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF I CAN GET A MODIFICATION WHILE LOAN IS IN BANKRUPTCY? IT'S HARD ENOUGH HAVING CANCER & BEING OUT OF WORK, BUT WORRYING THAT I'LL BE HOMELESS IS WORSE THAN THE CANCER. I'M SINGLE & HAVE NO FAMILY OR CHILDREN.

I finally had to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy as well because the repayment plan that Homeq put me on was unreasonable. They were holding almost two payments in escrow when they started the foreclosure and I had little choice. Over the course of the bankruptcy they have told me that they will not even consider a modification or workout to a customer in bankruptcy. If you know anything different please let me know. I feel like my only hope is that the legislation allowing a bankruptcy judge to modify a loan while in bankruptcy will get passed, but I doubt that I will be able to hold on that long.

We were only one month behind on our adjustable rate payment when I tried to get Homeq to modify our loan and all they did was give me the run-around! I couldn’t believe it when the guy on the phone (he was a big jerk!) actually said that my family shouldn’t eat so much because then we would spend less on groceries and would have more money to make our mortgage payment! He also said we should get a cheaper car and a bunch of other stuff that was really rude. This whole thing was keeping me up at night worrying about what was going to happen to us. I told my friend at work about this and she said I should call the loan modification company that got her loan modified down to 3.25% fixed interest rate! I finally decided to call them, and in about 45 days they got my interest rate down to 3.85% on a fixed rate too! The company is First American Financial Group and we are really happy with what they did for us. The website is theloanmodfacts.com. We chose them because they didn’t make a bunch of promises like some of the other companies and they had a 100% money back guarantee. I hope this helps some other people fighting with their loan company!
