They neglected to tell me that my info. had to be updated every month and i hadn't done it so it was on hold(repayment plan) so now i have been waiting on them now for about 4 months. They have put me behind 6 months now. tired o f waiting. I want to refinance my 1st and 2nd mortgage in to one loan. HELP!!

We were told to do the same thing and we listened to them which was not a wise decision. They have since put us behind 22 months. After a while I chose not to send the money because I was afraid it would not go towards my mortgage and would be used for something else. They kept telling my husband and I that they were working on it and not to send money. However if I were you I would start making your mortgage payments again so that you will only remain the 6 months behind and not end up where we are now.
I was told to do the same not to make payments and now I'm almost 8 months behind wiht no payment plan.
Our mortgage was sold to Countrywide in 2004 and that’s when the nightmares began. Our very first payment to them, they took half of the payment ($800) and did not apply it towards the payment, but put it aside in some separate account but could give no explanation why. For the next few months, we sent our payments in as usual and heard nothing, about 8 months into it, we sent in our payment and they sent the payment back with a letter stating that they could not accept partial payments? When we contacted them, we found out about the $800 mystery fund that they had put part of our payment into, they could not give us a reason why it had not been applied to the loan, nor could they move it over. They only told us that we had accrued a ridiculous amount of late fees since they said we had made a “partial” payment 8 months prior. We contacted a negotiation firm that worked out a loan modification with them. When they finally sent us over the paperwork, we had less than 48 hours to wire transfer them $3500 or the deal was off and then make 6 payments at a higher payment amount and then back to our normal payments. On the sixth payment, which was sent via online banking through our bank, we sent the payment on time and Countrywide returned the payment. They then said that we defaulted on our modification agreement and were back in the same boat we started in with a part due balance, late fees, etc. so the past six months and the down payment were a waste. From that point forward they would not accept payments from us.
At the same time, my husband lost his job. We contacted them and spoke with their Workout Department who said that they would work with us and would call us back within 48 hours with an agreement. The next day, we received a Notice of Sale where they were foreclosing on our house. To stop the foreclosure my husband filed Ch 13 which was later dismissed. We contacted a local realtor/investor who agreed to negotiate a short sale on our house which he does all the time. For 18 months he and his attorneys went back and forth with Countrywide trying to get this done. They would continually ask for random things that they needed, all the while never reviewing a formal proposal or bid from them until he just gave up. Meanwhile, we are now 20+ months behind on our mortgage. You would think that they would be glad to do anything to get rid of the loan.
Three weeks ago we received a letter from Countrywide’s attorney McCalla Raymer asking us to contact them to workout a reinstatement or other arrangements. My husband tried several times to contact them with no response. We spoke with a mortgage broker that was going to help us get refinancing assistance. On 6/19 he contacted us and asked us to call Countrywide to see what they were willing to negotiate. I contacted them and at first they refused to speak with me as I am not on the loan, however I had in my hand a letter FROM Countrywide dated 2005 verifying that they had added me to be able to discuss the account. They woman said the information was not in their system and was quite rude. She had to speak with my husband to have him authorize her to speak with me. At that time, she said that a Short Sale would be a good option for us and that our home was in foreclosure but no sale date had been set.
The following day we saw the ad in the paper for the Sale of our home scheduled for 7/1/08. My husband contacted Countrywide who again said no sale date had been set, even though he read them the notice from the paper. They told him to contact THEIR attorney to find out. He contacted their attorney the following morning who confirmed that a sale was set for 7/1/08 and after four more calls to Countrywide and then to their attorney, they said that the sale information was in their system. They told us to have the person we were working with on our mortgage to contact them and speak with the negotiator assigned to our account and they would issue a postponement of the sale – this conversation took place 6/24/08 at 11pm EST. 6/25 - He contacted them the following morning at 9am PST when they opened and was told that they were unable to negotiate as he was supposed to call the SAME DAY that they had spoken with my husband. Still no postponement issued. When my husband contacted them again, he was transferred to 3 different people and was told that the 2 previous representatives he had spoken with had lied to him and that no negotiator was assigned to our account. We were then told that in order for them to work with our new potential lender, we needed to fill out a 3rd Party Authorization Form and send it to them which would take 24-48 hours to appear in their system. We faxed the authorization over immediately, although for the past 5 days nobody had mentioned the need for this. As of today 6/27/08, it is still not in their system, and they have still not postponed the sale of our home scheduled for Tuesday 7/1/08 and I don’t think they ever intended to. They are a bunch of liars and I wouldn’t believe a word that they say.
I contacted some of the companies that we had heard from about stopping the foreclosure, but was told by all of them that it was too close to the sale date and there was nothing that they could do unless Countrywide postponed it and sent us confirmation of that. I guess there is nothing that we can do now. We have gotten nothing but the runaround from Countrywide for the past 3 years and now we are going to lose our home because of their poor business practices. From reading the web, I see that is their standard business practice as I have read several similar stories from other homeowners left not knowing what to do.

We are going thru the same thing. They kept telling us not to make any payments because they are in the process of configuring the numbers and if payment is made, it would screw up the figures. We are not 10 payments behind and am pretty sure close to a sale date. I've tried everything and am given the run around. They apparently tried to do a loan modification, and everytime, got denied, no reason given. Is there anyone out there that can help us??? Countrywide is the worst...I thought they are there to help people save their homes...obviously they don't give a *@#$.
I wasnt able to find anyone to help us since they would not postpone our sale date. However they did wait until 6/30/08 after I emailed everybody I could find an address for (go to loansafe.org and search for countrywide. they give you contact info) I got a phone call from some woman in "The Office of the President" who basically was checking me off her list because when I spoke with her, she said she was responding to my email and wanted to discuss our situation, however she then said that she did not have a 3rd party authorization on file to discuss the account with me and would need to speak with my husband who was on an airplane! I ecplained that I had the confirmation from them that they had received the authorization to discuss the account with me, however I was at work and did not access to it, so she said she would have to speak with him. Why did they even CALL ME to tell me they could not talk to me? When I got home that evening there was a FEDX overnight waiting with a letter from someone in their workout department requesting paystubs, w2s, etc. so they could review for a loan modification which we had been asking for for 3 years. They needed the info faxed ASAP as our sale date was set for the next morning at 9am. There was no way to possibly get them the information as it was 6 pm already. They are ridiculous and I cant believe they can stay in business doing things the way they do. So, our foreclosure sale was 7/1, havent heard from anyone, but we have found another home and are moving out this weekend - GOOD RIDDANCE to COUNTRYWIDE
