Chase escrowed my taxes because I did not pay them, can they do this?

January 21, 2008

I have been a Chase customer for 4 years, a never had a late payment. In Jan 07, my divorced finalized. I kept the house and was able to make my mortgage payment and second loan payment. In June 07, Chase forced escrow on my late property taxes, stating they made payment and instilled an escrow. My payment then went to 1295.00. Over the course of the 4 years, I was always late with my property taxes, paid the late penalties and paid the taxes and never put the home in jeopardy. Since the county requires 18 months to pay, I dragged it out and paid the taxes slowly with bonus income or with income tax returns. Now, Chase forced an escrow of which I cannot afford on a monthly basis. Since June of 07 I have been late every month, and stacking up late fees and am now approaching 90 days late. I filed for assistance due to the divorce and received no response since that was filed in Sept. 07. I cannot make the required 1295.00 a month, plus the second loan on a monthly basis. If I could just have Chase remove the escrow, and let me manage my taxes as before, I would be able to retain my home. My intention, is to pay the paid taxes that Chase made last year with my income tax return this year. Do I have any recourse?

I've had a hard time with them, and I read somewhere on the net there were numerous complaints about their business practices. Check with a foreclosure attorney/legal adviser.

Chase did the same thing to me. They paid taxes that I had already paid for. They got their money back but never took out the escrow account. Now I'm losing the home because my payments went up to $1445.00 for a $90,000.00 home. Does that make sense. I hope they realize what they are doing. I will never buy a home again. Renting is much easier and safer.

Chase did this with the taxes on a property that is not even in the chase loan. This year they put predicted taxes for two years from now in escrowed and are charging us for them because we payed all taxes up ahead. I know this is not legal We have a copy of the paper where they did this and intend on moving forward with legal action. you don't get evidence like this every day.

chase did me dirty to (my home was going into foreclouser i was paying $1,553.00 back in 2004 for a home i brought for $237,000 at a 5.7% intrest rate fixed i got the loan modified only to find out that my new mortgage will be $1,672.88 now if i struggled with $1,553.00 how can afford more.i accepted the modification they charged me $3,223.01 in order for the mortagage to be modified (thats how much i had to fed express with the signed modification (at the time all i was thinging about was my credit so i accepted that high note(i called 1/09 again to see if they can help because that $1,672.88 is killing me a gentalmen said i fitted the criteria for a stream-line.well that was 1/23/09 han i call back a month later they stated that everything has been forwarded to an analyst for review (tit was forwarded to the same analyst that gave me that high pyt. as of to date 4/21/09 i call they tell me its still in process and the analyst is working on it (i understand that they are backed up with foreclosures but this is observed.if anyone no what i know dont do any business with chase

Anyone looking for a Loan Modification seeking first reliable trustworthy specialist? We can get a rate lowered, payment lowered, forgive past lates and fees and even may reduce principal on mortgage. As long as the sheriff sale has not taken place I can help you save your home. If you have been on time or get behind I can get you a rate no higher than 5% and as low a 2%. Any situation that shows a hardship as well, can be done.
