Overextended??
Do you ever feel like you're just out on a limb?? Hanging out way beyond your limits?? Stretched beyond your abilities?
Yesterday I was painting the house. I was perched up on the ladder and too lazy to get down and move it over to the next spot. So, I just stood on my tippy-toes, leaning as far to the left and right as I could to get just one more splash of paint on before I had to get down and move the ladder. A couple of times my heart skipped a beat as I leaned a bit too far and felt my balance sway beyond my abilities. But, I still didn't get down and move the ladder until I had exhausted all options!
I'm stubborn...or, maybe I'm lazy. I do the same thing when I'm vacuuming. Rather than bend over and pick up a piece of dirt that won't enter the vacuum, I just rub it this way and that way. I try the horizontal brushing technique..then the vertical approach. I might even adjust the vacuum head. All I really need to do is bend over and pick up the little annoying piece of debris. But, I don't want to be defeated by my own dirt!
With foreclosure, there's also a lot of overextending. Maybe you overextended your budget and now your mortgage payment doesn't fit. Maybe you overextended your time limits, and late payments have triggered a warning from your mortgage company. Sometimes we become overextended because life isn't fair. We often have to lean out over the edge because life throws us a curve-ball...adjustable rate mortgages, death, illness, job loss, divorce, etc..
I'm hear to tell you not to hang on so long and hope that you can finish the job without "moving the ladder". It's fine to reach out for help. Find someone to lean on and don't rely on your own strength. Bend down and pick up some help. It's only a telephone call away.
