The Lord Gives and Takes Away...
It's been quite a week in our church family. In one day, a family received the shock that their baby was coming three weeks early. She arrived safe and sound and they're blessed to have this precious five-pound bundle of health in their home tonight.
On the other hand, on the same day, another young family found out their baby was going to be stillborn. They endured an induced labor yesterday to deliver their lifeless son who was just 4 months along.
So, what's the sense of it all? Is this just a circle of life where some win and some lose? Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
Rain falls on the good and the bad. I'm not talking the pitter-patter of a gentle spring rain. I'm talking tornado season in Oklahoma! I'm talking hail and wind and downpours that drown your spirit and crush your hopes.
This week has made me thankful for life. It's made me appreciate that God is in control no matter what. I've been absolutely blown-away at a very young couple who can say, "It is well..." as they bury their son.
Foreclosure is a storm. It's a vicious, personal storm that stirs up all kinds of pain and damage. Maybe you'll be able to patch up the broken paths you've been on and keep your home. You might lose your home. But, remember that there is something more valuable than your home. Your life.
If you are in a bad storm and you are have problems with your mortgage, allow us to give you the foreclosure help you need.
Be thankful for what the Lord gives and what He takes away. Remember your blessings and the gift of life. And when the next rainstorm comes make sure you find shelter in the One who calms the storm.
