Kittens Anyone?
Our sweet little cat had her second litter of kittens. It was a much anticipated birth and wouldn't you know she went into labor just as we had to leave for church. It was fun to come home and find 4 little fuzz-balls that came into the world completely without any of my doing. It's hard to admit that the Lord can bring kittens into this world without my help!
So, I'm rototilling the garden thinking about who "needs" our precious little kittens in their lives. We have friends that have a little mouse-problem in their new home. They have 3 precious little boys who also would love, love, love a little house pet. They REALLY need one of our kittens.
Then we have friends who have a barn that is probably over-run with rodents and unwanted guests. They have acres and acres of farmland that really needs the attention of a cat (or two).
But, you know what? They'll never, ever get a cat. Why? Because they love birds.
Cat people and bird people just don't seem to co-exist. I love birds. We have feeders and beautiful song-birds that tease our cats incessantly. I kinda like the fact that the cats have something to aspire to and the birds have wings to fly away. I think it's a great relationship.
But, our friends...they'll never buy my theory that we can all just get along. So, they'll get rats the size of Shaquille O'Neal's shoes, but it'll be fine since they're happy that the birds are there.
Is that like you? Do you stay with the safe and consistent life that you know instead of extending yourself to try something new?? Do you step very far out of your comfort zone? I'm not talking about ordering your Big Mac with no lettuce...I'm talking about really stepping out in faith that God is in control.
Your step of faith might be calling someone to help you with your foreclosure situation to give you the foreclosure help you need. Sometimes you have to invite someone into your private situation in order to see your options out. Sometimes you have to talk to someone you never thought you would. Sometimes you have to take a kitten home to find out that the birds can still soar.
