I've got behind on my mortgage need help getting caught up

March 01, 2007

Georgia foreclosure

This is an actual comment for a client:

”When I first got behind on my mortgage, it was in the month of August. Some company had taking money out of my account, and caused my account to be overdrawn. So I then had to try and come up with the money to pay for my mortgage. Plus on top of that my car started breaking down and I started putting money into my car so that I could get back and forth to work. I was trying to get all of my bills caught up but it seems as though little situations keep coming up. I was helping my mother and father out because my father lost his job. My wife and I tried to ask family members for help but no one was able to help. I’m the only one bringing in income. My wife and I just had our first born on February 8, 2007 and I really want to resolve this issue for our family. We really need your help.

We can definitely get this worked out for you and get your loan brought current if we can show that you can afford the mortgage payment. We will do a detailed financial portfolio of your income versus your expenses to show Countrywide that you can afford a house. If we can do that we have a number of options that would be available to bring your loan current.

we recently purchased a home with New Century Mortgage and in December our loan was transferred to you without our knowledge we never received a statement from you or New Century so we have been making payments and they have been getting sent back the first contact we had from your company was a letter stating our home was in foreclosure we recently sent a check for $5000 and it was denied we really are trying to make this matter right but we are getting no help from you. Please let us know what we can do to save our home ASAP if we can get a cheaper payment and that is an option that would also greatly help us or start our payments now when we finally realized who our new mortgage company was.

My husband and I are behind now two months on our house payment and we have to pay 2400 by the end of this month, we already paid 1400 this month and still are behind 2 months, my husband was working at a place that only paid him once a month and that really screwed up our bills, we got behind on everything. He is now working somewhere else and are getting things slowly caught up but our house payment. We have had issues with our car breaking down and needing to replace two tires and such, we also have been providing what we can to his parents and brother, his father has cancer and his brother has had a heart attack and seems like we are the ones sinking further under. We really need help!!!

Me and my husband are currently under a Chapter 13 and we still can not seem to stay caught up on our Mortgage. We had some problems with our bank account and several overdraft fees and this has caused us to get behind on almost everything. I am currently 1 month behind and I am afraid I soon going to be 2 months behind due to trying to catch everything else up. Do you have any suggestions

Click on my name to find them.

I live in Georgia and apparently I am in a state that cannot help homeowners prior to foreclosure. My house has been foreclosed and sold to Fannie Mae. My lender (GMAC) took my money that was owed to keep my mortgage current and put it in "holding" because it was late. I assumed that my mortgage was okay until I received a letter from an attorney's office stating that I am facing foreclosure. After contacting my lender several times with no response, an email was sent to them and a response came back stating that foreclosure is in processing but if I fill out a hardshiip application then they will stop the foreclosure now. I sent the papers to them ASAP, but was told that the papers were never received after trying to contact them for several weeks. Loan has been sold to Fannie Mae and there is nothing GMAC can do now. "It is too late and I should have contacted GMAC sooner" were the final words spoken to me from my lender. What do I do now since my home has been sold to Fannie Mae? Everyone that I have spoken to states that there is nothing I can do but get out of the house. Is this true?

Well, here is our story.
My husband got his hours cut, and I was laid off due to the economy. I now work at a subway making only $8.00 an hour. I was making 11.50 an hour. My husband works only 4 days a week instead of 5. That one day makes a huge difference in our monthly income. ( about 800.00 less a month) We got behind on our mortgage payments, and were sending Chase weekly payments hoping to get caught up. We even filed for a loan modification, but the monthly payment was more then we were currently paying, so we didn't sign the acception papers. Chase then sent use to a lawyer to start foreclosure proceedings, and tacked on 1800.00 for that.If you look in your fine print when you sign the loan for your home mortage it says you are liable for any amount incurred to get your loan current. Now we owe 5300.00, and they are demanding we get current ASAP! Thank you for parents on both sides who are borrowing us the money to get current. We are also selling our 20 acres we inherited to get ahead of the game, and pay off the money borrowed from love ones who really care about us, and don't want to see us lose our home. We have been in our home since 1997,and only have 6 yrs left to pay. It is a doggy doggy economy right now,and I hope othe people who are in our situation, find a way to get back on their feet..

We need help with our mortgage with Chase. We have tried to make partial payments etc but to avail. They are just not willing to help us with this. We got behind when my husband was out sick with no pay. He works construction and they do not provide sick days for their employees. We are now 3 (three) payments behind and are struggling to make ends meet. We can make the regular mortgage payment but we just cannot find any thing extra to catch up the loan. Can anyone help us?
