A divorce caused me to get behind on my mortgage
New York foreclosure
This is an actual comment from a client:
"Recent separation where money was taken from my account, bills that were supposed to be paid monthly by my partner were not, the money was pocketed leaving me unable to catch up."
The question we need to ask is can you afford your house. If you can afford your house we can easily get you caught up by getting a workout that you can afford. We will need to show the mortgage company that you can afford a house and the reason you got behind was out of your control. This will be done in a hardship letter and list the specific reasons because your mortgage to become delinquent.
We have been very successful with chase mortgage company and getting the delinquency put at the end of the loan in what is called a loan modification. To get a loan modification approved you will have to have approximately 25 to 30% of the delinquency as a down payment. With this down payment and financial paperwork we should be able to get your loan current and allow you to resume your normal payments.
