Why is there nothing Avelo can do in Michigan to stop the foreclosure

We are making our payments but they killing us. We won't be able to make them much longer. I have called our mortgage company twice to see if we could re-write the mortgage so we could afford to keep the home. I thought this would be a win/win. Avelo says is isn't something they can do in Michigan.

I am 2 months behind in my mortgage = I owe about $130K more than it's worth. I have Avelo Mortgage; they locked in my interest rate at 9.39 which I can no longer pay; I have depleted my retirement to pay the mortgage and can afford only $2000 per month instead of the $3200 they require; I have sent in 3 hardship packages and they won't budge. They say I now owe $8K (with $3K being current); what would it cost to have you help me?
