Can someone help me?
I got married in june 2001. My husband was a gunite pool contractor.Later in 2001 I was told I needed both hips replaced. In 2002 my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had to take over the business alone. I lost my health insurance, we had no life insurance and he passed away in Jan 2003. I worked to try to pay the bills and get out of debt. In 2005 Hurricanes Katrina and Rita came thru and I had no work. I had to go to New Orleans to do demotion and remodel work to survive. In Sept of 2006 I became very ill and I was unable to work. I began trying to file chapter 13 bankruptcy. In Feb 2007 I was hospitalized and given 3 units of blood. In March 2007 I had a hysterectomy and they removed 2 tumors the size of softballs. In july 2007 I had both hips replaced. I am now able to walk and am back to work. I have just signed my first job since my surgeries. I owe approx 15000.00 to Iberia bank total balance. House was to be paid off in 2010. I owe approx 12000.00 to EMC Mortgage on the second mortgage. I know that I can resume payments now that I have my physical health back. Can you help me?

Subject: Looking For Any Kind of Help
First I would like to give you some background on me to maybe help you
understand Why I am Writing you. As you can figure from the heading I not
very happy with the way people treated us when we came back from Vietnam.
Even thou I felt it was a money making political war I was sworn to the
people of the United States to do whatever our President felt was right to
protect our freedom and the freedom of other countries. It is a shame how
the people react in time of war, because we are there so they can live the
American Dream. I don't Blame our legislators for the problems with the Va I
blame the American people who fight for the wrong pork Barrel Projects we
should not be feeding other countries we should be taking care of America.
The Reason i am writing you is I hope you can point me in a direction I may
be able to go to save my home. Being that I am disable and having to live
here during me taking treatments and trying to get things fixed has took its
told on me. At this point I don't know what the mole is like in here and
can't afford someone to check it out.
Katrina
I will have to go back as far as Katrina to try to explain what has been
going on with Fema. I applied for help and was totally turned down. I
appealed again and was turned down I had a lot of damage but for some reason
they refused me. I then started looking for help else where.
I was able to contact the red cross who could not believe Fema turned me
down they gave $300 I also was able to get some funds from Slemco .Well when
President Bush sent all our wood to Irag that did not give me enough to
finish. So I did the tear down of the rear of my building alone with a lot
of pain medication, Working about 2 hours a day .I was able to stop the
water from entering my home.
When road home came around they wanted me to go to Baton Rouge and they
would help me with the application I explained to the Lady that I was
disable and not allowed to drive and would have to try to get someone to
take me there. Well that didn't happen another place that made no provisions
for disabled people.
I watch people tear shingle's off there roof, there siding off and all kind
of other stuff just so they could get fema money. They would even brag about
it, now these are not poor people. So I turned as many as I could in just
to watch them get away with it.
GUSTAV
I left the blue roof on until prior to Gustav hitting.
When I pulled the old blue roof off I noticed that they had used 6 inch
nails to lay it down which left holes all through my roof this is where some
of the leaks are coming from I patched as many as I could.
Fema reply very timely to my claim this time but it was not even close to
enough money. When the first person came over I showed him the damage I had
found so far,My roof the inside of my ceiling and the mold and my car. I
also asked him about a Fema trailor due to my illness and the mold build up.
While I was waiting I had another inspector come buy and take a report.
Shortly after I received some money and a explanation of what Fema haded
payed and what they refused. I contacted Fema and told them I understood
that they didn't have to pay the total but this was not going to be enough
or close to enough . from what i understood they should give you enough to
make the home liveabal which its not gonna be soon if not allready She told
me to appeal it with the new info I had. Just to get my roof done it is
around $9000 the inside is about another $9000 and to repair the broken
rafter I don't have the slightest idea I did have some Blocks move and may
have to re level it but the big problem is the mold that is starting to
build up I may need to tear it all down before its all over. While I was
waiting to get a reply from Fema I am sitting here going through Hep-c
Treatment which involves sticking a needle in me once a week. I. Now I just
had a a spinal tap and need more work done on my back.
I was also told in the letter I had turn down something that had to do with
monthly payments which I don't remember turning down any financial help I
did try to help fema buy trying to get a trailer to live in until I could
get some money but that was it. Unfortunately my car went out so I had to
get another one because I was bed ridden with the Hep-c treatment from Nov
09 to April 09. I found out that they where not giving out any fema trailer
later thats different from what I was told by phone.
Afters I pay my bills I am lucky if I have anything left over the past few
months have been bad because of the so called gap. My medicine cost 1300 and
the VA will not pay for it.
I had a Guy stating with us during the storm who was suppose to be taking
care of him through long time care. Since he was on oxygen. And need to use
a pump I contacted 211 They new by voice since the storm they try in every
way possible to get me help but apparently there is no help for disable
people out there. The thing is this guy had Medicare that was paying for
his care and they did nothing About two months ago I received a call from a
fema lady who was who was suppose to come over but never showed are called
again
During the storm the 211 people tried to get me help everywhere but could
not find us any for the disabled we sat here a week without electricity and
I had a friend here who was on long time care and they never checked on him
and he need his breathing machine.
Again I heard people barging about how much they received from Fema and how
they rip Fema of mostly on food stamp and replacement of food and ice boxes
freezers and shingles and siding. This really makes me mad because of people
like this I can't get the medicine I need or help I need . I have even tried
to apply for on of the President loans still to no avail I was told by one
lender it was because of the damage done by the hurricane.
About two months ago I received a call from a fema lady who was who was
suppose to come over but never showed are called again
